Zheren led Max through the dark hallway until they got to another building. Then he suddenly stopped and turned around causing Max to almost fall.

"Max, I don't know how you were able to do it but I want to say thank you for bringing me back to life and for healing me. Damon said I am now a demon, it came as a shock to me considering my status before but I do not mind that again," Zheren said in a low voice then let out an inaudible sigh.

"I did what I had to do so you don't have to be like that, besides you saved me," Max replied with a slight smile on his face.
