CHAPTER 5

THREE YEARS AGO:

AT SIGMUND'S MANSION:

It was Gabriel's birthday when his life turned upside down. Elijah pressed his hand to his chest in pain. Gabriel was giving him medicine when someone hit him from behind.

Gabriel grabbed his head and looked back. He couldn't see his face, covered with black covet. He fell to the floor and his vision went blurry. Furthermore, he saw that man putting something in Elijah's mouth, and then everything went blank.

Gabriel woke up with a gasp as a bucket of water was splashed over him. He lifted his foggy eyes to see that all his family members were standing before him with murderous glares.

“Grandfather,” Gabriel whispered.

“He is alive. You did your best to kill him, right,”? Gabriel's cousin, Noah, sneered at him.

“I di-didn't do anything,” Gabriel said, standing up.

“Tell me why you did it. For property,” Gabriel's uncle growled at him.

Accusations were thrown over him from every angle. They didn't listen to anything and kicked him out of the house. Gabriel pleaded and tried to justify, but they didn't let him.

For months, Gabriel would sleep on the streets and eat after weeks.

BACK TO THE PRESENT:

“As Elijah master woke up from the coma, he was looking for you. But sadly, he didn't have much time. He has told everyone the truth that you were not the one who poisoned him but someone else did to him,” grandpa Tony told Gabriel, a lone tear escaping from his eyes.

He felt like a big weight was pulled out from his heart. And at the same time, he was sad that he lost his grandfather.

“I am happy that everyone knows the truth now. But I wished that I would have met grandpa once,” Gabriel sighed heavily.

“Oh young master, don't be sad, in the form of his blessings he has declared you the heir of the Sigmund family. Everything belongs to you, that's why I was constantly searching for you,” Tony informed him of the great news that he has heard in 3 years.

“Are you sure, grandpa Tony?”

“Yes, young master. You are the heir of Sigmund's wealth. Please come back and take responsibility.”

Gabriel was tongue-tied, he didn't know how to react. He laughed like a maniac in happiness. In one day, he has become guilty and free and nothing to the heir of his abandoned family.

“I will be back soon, Grandpa Tony and take everything that Grandpa has left for me.” He said with contentment and hung up the call.

He was overjoyed with happiness, and to celebrate his happiness. Not only that, but he started dancing and laughing aloud. Tears rolled up from his eyes, and his legs were also not stopping as well.

Gabriel couldn't believe his ears. He was finally free from culpability. Now everyone knows the truth. He is not a killer anymore. He couldn't contain his happiness and started laughing loudly, unaware of the bloodthirsty glares on him.

He wasn't aware that two murderous glares were staring him up.

Olivia and Amelia were standing near the colossus window near the gate. They were gazing outside at Gabriel, who was laughing his heart out.

“You stupid, useless man. How could you dance and be happy when we are so tense up with our family situation."? His mother-in-law clenched her teeth.

She flared her nose in anger, throwing daggers from her eyes.

Olivia was roaring fire with her eyes, while Amelia has never felt this brought low before, not even the day she decided to marry this prig. According to her, she has done a great favor to him by marrying him. And he ought to them for his lifetime.

Olivia's eyes are scrunched in distaste as she continuously gazes at him. With an Ugly grimace on her face, she turned towards Amelia.

“This is whom you wed, Amelia,”? Olivia taunted her while jesting Gabriel with her finger.

“Look at your man, Amelia. For whom you demanded that money. Here you are thinking about him and there he is celebrating his freedom from you,” Olivia sneered. She stressed the word man, just to make her daughter more blameworthy. There hasn't been a day when Olivia hasn't blamed Amelia for her misfortune. One thing about Olivia Romano is that she is the Queen of manipulation.

“Enough, today I will show him his worth,” Olivia said and went towards Gabriel. Amelia was following closely.

“So, I was right about you,” Olivia said as she stood behind a laughing Gabriel.

Gabriel quickly turned around with a large smile on his face. His eyes were gleaming with happiness. He opened his mouth to tell the good news to Amelia, but close it as he watches their murderous glares.

“Amelia,” Gabriel started, but was cut off as always.

“At last, you revealed your real skin,” Olivia sneered at him. She took a step closer to him.
