He rubbed his hands together. He didn’t think that she was aware of what would happen. He laughed a little. “Don’t worry, dear. I have a lot of experience hiding, remember?”

She nodded and then hugged him tightly. “Bye, daddy.”

“Bye, honey. Take care of your mom, okay? I love you.”

She let go of him quickly and walked to the living room window where her mom was sitting. “Love you, too, dad. See ya.”

He smiled and then walked towards the elevator and rode it all the way downstairs. The doors opened, revealing the parking garage. He walked out to his car and got in. He checked his phone for any messages and then pulled it away from his ear as it vibrated violently. He looked at who was texting him.

‘Hey! It’s me, Alex. You haven’t shown up at school, and no one knows where you went either. Have you forgotten our date tonight?’

‘Damnit, man!’ he thought.

‘What the fuck am I supposed to say, Alex?!’

‘Tell me your plans, then!’
