"Good morning, beautiful gorgeous queen. The breakfast is prepared” but he had to go right now since he had work. John said with a smile, trying to kiss his wife Jennifer.

However, Jennifer tried to avoid the kiss, she got up quickly and put on her clothes with a poker face,

John was confused, these days Jennifer changed a lot, she started to avoid all intimate activities with him, and seldom smiled at home.

“Jennifer, what happened to you? You seem to be unhappy these days.” John asked worriedly..

Jennifer froze for a moment and soon went back to normal, “No, not at all, why have you ask?”

She replied, continued to have her breakfast, didn’t even look at John’s face.

John tried to say something, but he hesitated. Jennifer pretended to be calm and finished her breakfast quickly.

“I’m going to be late, see you at night,” She left without a kiss, or even a smile.

“She must be so tired these days, if she saw my surprise for her tonight, she will be happy again!” John thought, with a smile on his face.

In fact, John was toiling away day and night in order to save up some cash in order to get a present for Jennifer.

After a period of crazy work, John finally saved up enough money for his ideal gift for Jennifer.

He went to the luxury shop near the restaurant he worked for, when he came in, the salesgirl smiled with a mock.

In the past month, he came here everyday but bought nothing, just to see the gift he wanted to buy for a glare, to motivate himself to work harder and harder. 

“Oh hey, guess who’s there? Our mister Buy-nothing?” The salesgirl mocked.

John was unhappy, but he couldn’t say anything against her, because it was true that he bought nothing.

“Please give me that pair of sandals, miss.” John forced him to be calm and asked the salesgirl.

“Finally got enough money huh?” The salesgirl mocked, threw the sandals in front of John.

“Hey! Be respectful, miss, I’m your customer now!” John protested.

“Customer? Will you come back here again?” The salesgirl sneered at John, “This pair of sandals is the only thing you could afford in our shop, so just take it and never come back!”

John was angry, he held the money tightly in his hand, he wanted to leave because he had no dignity here, but thinking of Jennifer’s face, he gave up.

She must be very disappointed if I didn’t bring this pair of sandals for her.

John thought, passing the money to the salesgirl.

“Ha! Now what? Although you have enough money for it, you’re still that useless loser, now take your cheap sandals and leave!”

The salesgirl mocked.

John didn't say anything, now all in his mind was the smile of Jennifer.

At the Jennifer work place,

 The manager spoke to Jennifer in an alluring tone and gazed alluringly at her figure and that she looks so pretty ” so gorgeous and sexy today.” He said with a seducing tone.

Jennifer thanked her boss. She giggled and made an effort to give him a glimpse of her stunningly seductive grin. She accepted the way he used to speak with her.

He responded with a sexy smile and told her to call him Steven and not boss, and after shutting the door, he made an effort to get as near to her as possible.

Putting his hand on her back and told her that he brought gifts today for her” Jennifer, Jennifer guess what will happen today.” He asked.

She could not contain her excitement as she responded, "Oh really, what is it?" since she was so curious to find out what he had brought for her.

She felt his body so near to her from behind, and he was getting closer until another customer entered the room, at which point he retreated from her and gave her the gift after. An expensive gift that included deodorant and clothing, sandals.

She went back to her home, but the event remained fresh in her thoughts even after she got there. She began to contemplate making major changes in her life.

On the other hand, 

John was thinking that Jennifer will be very excited seeing these sandals, she wanted them months ago.

John opened the door, he shouted happily, “I’m back, Jennifer, see what I bring you!”

But no one came out.

She didn’t hear his voice, nevermind, I’ll give her a surprise!

John thought.

He opened the door of the bedroom slightly, hiding the gift behind him.

“Hey Jennifer, surpri….”

But he was shocked when he saw Jennifer lying on the bed, with shiny jewelry in her hand.

“Jennifer, what’s that?” John asked, he saw Jennifer’s smile finally, but this smile appeared not for him, but for the jewelry in her hand.

Noticing John came in, Jennifer’s face changed soon, she put the jewelry on the bedside table.

“Hey, you’re back.” She said, without any emotion.

“What’s that? Where is that from, Jennifer?” John asked again, that jewelry seems to be very expensive, he knew Jennifer couldn’t afford it.

“My colleague gave it to me, why do you have so many questions?” Jennifer frowned.

“Who?” John didn’t give up.

“It’s none of your business!” Jennifer suddenly scrunched her nose, and she shouted at John.

“I’m done with you, you loser! It’s my birthday and you didn’t prepare me a nice gift! How dare you ask me about my stuff?”

John was shocked, he didn’t imagine Jennifer would be so excited, he said haltingly, “I prepared a gift for you too, I worked the whole month for it…”

He showed the sandals to Jennifer, but she took a glare at it and mocked.

“The pair of sandals we saw months ago? That’s ridiculous!”

“It’s out of fashion now, it’s the discount article in that shop, the cheapest thing! You think I’ll be happy having a pair of outdated shoes?” Jennifer yelled.

She flung the box out the window and said that she can't live like this, and she doesn't want to be poor like him. 

“But…” John was sad, he worked so hard to buy those sandals, but it was nothing in the eyes of Jennifer.

Jennefier interrupted John, she took the jewelry on the bedside table.

“Look at this necklace, it was worth 10 times more than your ragged sandals! You could never afford a necklace like this, you loser!” Jennifer insulted.

“You don’t deserve me, it has been 3 years we have been married but you are still a poor guy, how could I marry you at that time!”

Jennifer yelled, “Now you showed off those cheap sandals as your accomplishment?”

 “I’ll divorce you, you loser!”
