Second Assignment

After carrying out the employee selection stages, today Ernest will start operating his restaurant for the first time. The name of the restaurant is emblazoned on the top of the building. Tasty Treats, that's the name of the restaurant. That morning, his employees came and greeted Ernest.

"Good morning, Mr. Ernest!" his employees greeted while smiling respectfully at Ernest.

"Good morning, please line up. Before opening the restaurant, we will conduct a briefing first, " Ernest said to which his employees nodded in return

About 30 employees were successfully selected by Ernest and selected as permanent employees of his restaurant. Of course, that's because it's all done in various ways for a rigorous examination process. Only experienced people are welcome in this restaurant.

"Okay, let me skip it!" Ernest said, then he called his one by one his employees. After feeling that all his employees had arrived, Ernest continued his morning talk to the briefing.

"Okay, all employees are complete. No one is sick or permission, okay, let me first explain the rules at my restaurant. Here, you serve customers well. But, don't forget to always smile at customers who come. Two, you have to be patient with different consumers. And if I see you do something bad, Three, everything in the kitchen, and everything in Kenneth and Darren's room. If anything is missing, come to my room, and let me take care of the ingredients. Four, always prioritize hygiene. At 12 noon and 6 pm, the restaurant will close at 10 pm and I will give you a salary on the 5th of next month. Lastly, do the work quickly and never reveal any secrets you see in this restaurant. Whatever it is, it's quiet enough even if there's work. The threat is your life instead, understand?" Ernest said firmly.

All the employees there were surprised by the last rules. Why? What's the secret in this restaurant? They don't understand it at all. However, because they needed work and the salary of working in this place was so high for the restaurant that had just opened. So, they risked their lives working in this restaurant.

"Yes, sir!" scream the employees in unison.

"All right, now it's time for you to clean the restaurant. Later at 10 o'clock, turn the open sign so that the customers come, yes! Call me in my office!" said Ernest, who was greeted by all his employees.

Ernest walked into his room. He's about to file his employees' files. Of course, there's a secret to why he had to log his employees.

From Jeremy

The second assignment, surgical frogs and make them a dish at your restaurant. Of course, you have to taste it first whether your chef's cooking is good and worth eating or not. This time it's 500 bucks for your assignment.

Yes, after the inauguration, that day he got a message notification on his way home. Before the restaurant opened, he preserved thousands of frogs he had obtained from frog hunters who used to sell them for medicinal purposes.

People used to believe frogs could be used as medicine. And without anyone knowing, Ernest did the job. The secret Ernest meant one of them was this job.

"Do you feel strange about Mr. Ernest?" asked a female employee named Angel. She looks more fashionable than her other friends.

"Yes, what does he mean by secret, huh? I'm really curious," replied Talita—one of the employees who glanced there.

"Hey you guys, let's go to work! If Mr. Ernest finds out you are negligent, then you will be punished by him. Don't think about what Mr. Ernest said!" Darren said.

They returned to work after receiving a reprimand from Darren. In a sense, this Darren had become Ernest's trust when he first came here. Of course, Darren has a lot of experience, starting with chefs on board members, and chefs at restaurants and five-star hotels. To be sure, Darren is Ernest's golden boy.

— The Game of Death —

Ernest looked at Darren and Kenneth alternately. About 20 people were in the kitchen, 18 of whom were assistants and dishwasher helpers in the kitchen. The waitress, the cashier, and the men's/women's office keep the front of about 10 people.

Ernest looked at those now silent as the inside of his heart throbbed. Actually, what was their first assignment?

" Is anyone afraid of frogs?" Ernest asked, surprising them a little.

"Stretch your hand," he whispered again.

The employees exchanged glances. One by one, their arms are raised. There are about 9 people who are afraid of frogs, the rest of whom are not at all afraid and can be used to help with the process of making frog food.

"Forcedly, you should not be afraid of frogs now. Because the food you use is not beef but frogs!" Ernest answered, opening the box where so many frogs were slaughtered by Ernest and frozen in the freezer that they didn't smell.

Suddenly all the employees in the kitchen were surprised, even some felt nauseous. Ernest just smiled sarcastically at their reaction.

"This is what I mean by the secret of this restaurant. So, you have to make a decision, so you have to take a risk. Okay, for Kenneth and Darren. Because you're a chef and you're not afraid of frogs. So, use this meat to make Japanese food that will later become a legendary restaurant. When you're done, serve it and bring it. To my office. I'll wait! Oh yes, one more thing, don't forget to make a video on how to make it so I believe it's made of the frog meat I gave you," Ernest said, then casually walked away from the kitchen.

After Ernest left, they immediately expressed their anger and emotions after learning it was the secret of this restaurant.

"Why must a frog?"

"Doesn't he have money to buy beef or chicken?"

"Fuck, that disgusting creature being a dish. I will never eat a dish in this place for sure."

"I'm really surprised if this is indeed the secret that he's hiding. Are we going to be okay doing mass murder on frogs?"

Question after question came out of their mouths. However, Kenneth and Darren could only stand still while meditating. They're confused about what to do with frogs.

"I used to do it in China, but how do I make good Japanese cuisine from frog meat? We have to make it like beef for sure," said Kenneth giving an idea.

"The first way we have to do this is to make this frog like a cow. After that, we will find an idea for the dish," Darren said.

"Right, let's do it! Mr. Ernest must be very waiting for us!" said Ken excitedly.

"Everyone, let's work! We have accepted this consequence. So, don't complain! Work with professionals!" Darren exclaimed reminding them.

Suddenly, they all nodded. Yeah, what should they do? It's a consequence they're working here. And they must accept a deal that must have been stipulated in the contract when they applied for a job here.

They work and the kitchen is getting crowded. The noise of the disturbance is starting to sound. Meanwhile, Ernest himself felt depressed in his room. He still feels nauseous even after slaughtering amphibians.

"Shit, why is that disgusting animal his job! I'm so nauseous," complained Ernest while eating mint to relieve nausea.

" But what is the power, money is more profitable than anything else, " he answered.

Meanwhile, Kenneth and Darren tried their best to make the amphibious meat soft. However, because of Ken's expertise in this matter. The meat turns out to be a cow.

"Try it, I think the texture is enough to be beef. If it's softer than this, it'll turn out like a chicken," Ken told to Darren.

"Should I try it?" Darren asked hesitantly.

"Yes, I also eat it. If you want to be a famous chef, you have to take risks," said Ken.

Darren swallowed his saliva. This is the first time he's tasted salted frog meat and made it like beef. Ken tried to bake it and he said the taste and texture were like beef.

"Hurry up, Mr. Ernest has been waiting. You have to taste it so I'm sure the texture is enough," said Ken again.

Darren hesitantly ended up cutting amphibious meat very little. Before eating it, he looked at the meat and fixed himself if this animal wasn't so disgusting if it had been processed properly.

Darren ate it while holding his breath. He felt a little nauseous considering it was frog meat. However, after trying the magic of Ken's hand. He was amazed that the animal had turned into a fine dish.

"This is good, Ken. I don't believe this meat can be processed well and it's no longer disgusting," Darren said with a sparkling face.

Ken smiled happily, "Of course, Kalua is like that, let's make this ramen and yaki. Can you? I will process other meat so that the results are likely that," he told Ken.

"Of course! All right, let's get to work!" Darren answered cheerfully.

While Ken and Darren seem to enjoy their work very much. The assistant chef in the kitchen whispered to each other knowing their job was successful.

"I'd rather be an assistant, ludicrous if I were a chef to be pathetic like this,"

"I'll bury deep in my dreams to be a chef, this is so disgusting!"

"Did they eat it and not vomit? Crazy, employees and bosses don't make a difference!"

"But, shouldn't being a chef have to be a professional? I think they are professional because they dare to make and convey the taste of their food?"
