Life's never been easy. You only had found the right solution to each problems it throws.

'It has been a while.'

You only live once. That's what people believe in.

'My friend. You don't look so great.'

People believe in religions and beliefs. They believe being good will brings you to nirvana.

'Shall I help you once more?'

But being good doesn't mean being solely one will truly give you free passes to heaven.

'You who brought salvation to your world but gained despair.'

But how do you define good? How would you find it?

'I shall give you one chance.'

That's when the world was brought to destruction and chaos. People's true colors will emerged.

'But you should know that everything has an equivalent price.'

Nothing's in the world is free. It comes to a complete balance and fair cycle. But sometimes... it can be deceived.

'What will you choose this time?'

Then right now, that's what I am going to do.

"I want to leave this place."

That's right. I want to leave this place that I work hard on saving.

'Hooo... You'll leave the world you did all you can to save.'

"That's right. A world with just an empty shell was nothing but a worthless piece of junk for me. So take me away from this place. That's all I want."

A voice that rang inside your head that can make you shiver in fear. An incorporeal existence that appears to people with immense deep despair. That's the higher being appeared right before here.

'Interesting. I shall do what you wish. You who brought salvation to the world and the you who will turn your back from it. But what will you offer me?'

A deceiving devil coat in the curtains of hope. That's what can describe this being. But who I am to ignore such appealing offer?

"I'll give you everything. I'll give you my life."

Laughters filled the entire red dark sky. This was the lair of the monster who brought chaos and disaster to the world. The monster who almost took my life.

'Hahaha! Good! This is great! I shall do my fair share of the deal. Humans are really interesting weak existences. Yet they are the ones with full of surprises.'

Before I could close my eyes, the skies lighten up. Revealing the blue cloudless sky. A sharp pain struck into my heart and my lungs feels like it was squeezed by brute strength. Then in a brief, I felt my head was about to burst when I heard the voice again.

'Unfortunate human. The deal is complete. Do your best to live your life the way you want this time. I'll cheer for you! Hahaha!'

Baaaaaang!

All my senses went numb and darkness swallowed me up.

..

Droplets of water touches the cheeks of the boy peacefully laid in a soft luxurious but plain bed. His eyes started to twitch, a sign that he's awake.

"Young master."

A voice that is not young and not old reaches the boy's ear as he slowly opened his eyes. A large room with minimal furnitures varying with black and red color placed neatly inside.

On the side, he could see a basin with water and right there, a man in his fifties holding a wet towel was looking at him with a benign smile, waiting for him to response.

He raises his hand to see a very smooth skin with no deep callouses and was extremely skinny.

He raises his body to sit as he roam his eyes inside the room. On his side were a red dark oak with exquisite designs and when he turned his head to other way there is a partition and antique furnitures that is quite peculiar to his eyes. They were not minimal but the spacious room make it look scarce.

The blanket he was tucked in were not that soft like the ones in his past world but it isn't uncomfortable enough to make him not want to sleep...maybe little. The air is fresh but there is this heavy feeling mixed with it that felt familiar with him but he couldn't identify it at the moment.

All of his observation happened in a short amount of time and the old man was quietly watching him as he put the wet towel down at the basin.

"Young master Cygne, are you alright?"

He flinched from the gentle voice that's full of concern from the old man he doesn't even know. He didn't let the eyes who are watching him passed. 'There's no concern in it. Like a predator watching his prey.' He inwardly thought that this place is dangerous. Then, Cygne started to recall the last thing he remembered.

「'Unfortunate human. The deal is complete. Do your best to live your life the way you want this time. I'll cheer for you! Hahaha!'」

The voice full of anticipation roared inside his head before the world turns black. Cygne doesn't know what happened but it seems like he transmigrated. The higher being completed its part of the deal. But that is not his concerns right now. He doesn't have a memory to rely on his current situation right now, he frowned from the headache brewing inside his head. The slight wince he had made didn't escaped the observant eyes of the old man.

"...I'll call for the doctor. I'll be quick."

The old man walk with light steps that is quite amazing. It's fleeting like a swan but also something hair raising when you thought about it in the middle of the night with an attempt of harvesting your life. That didn't escaped from Cygne's eyes. A soft thud from the closing of the door made him drown in his thought.

'It seems like I was given an another headache to deal with.'

He did not think his wish was that lacking. He felt like he was tricked bigtime. He doesn't have a memory to this body he acquired. But thankfully the language of this world help him not to turn into an idiot from the first day he arrived here.

But he wonders, how long can he take his stand in this place with no memories to rely or information about himself?

His train of thoughts was interrupted by the soft knocks on the door.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Come in."

A young voice of a 13 year old teen came out of Cygne's mouth. He was startled on how soft it sounds with a tint of hoarseness from being not able to drink water for a long time but he quickly gained his composure when he heard the knob twisted and being push.

"Young master Cygne, I am Kirsten Vandello of the South. I will examine your body now."

'He's young.'

Cygne slightly nods as Kirsten cautiously approached him. The old man follows on the side with a distance that is not near and not too far.

Kirsten the doctor has a long brown hair tied in a ponytail that rested on his left shoulder. His golden sharp eyes was being blocked by a prescription glasses that is making it dull but you could tell that did not hinder the doctor's sight. The doctor did multiple examination on Cygne to make sure that nothing is wrong with his body.

"Luckily, your healing capabilities did all the work to restore your ruined organs from the impact of the Minorus attack. Since magic don't work on you, ahem it is still amazing that a week's coma could heal a month's worth of continuous healing with magic. You are safe now young master."

The room temperature suddenly dropped and chilliness wafted the room that made Cygne flinched with goosebumps creeps on his arms.

'It seems like he wasn't ordinary.'

"It seems like there's no more for you to do here Doctor Vandello. Let me escort you out."

"Yes..yes Butler Tien. If you'll excuse me young master, I'll be taking my leave."

Doctor Kirsten bowed his head to Cygne and followed Tien out of his room. The cold temperature disappeared as he watches the door closes again.

It seems like he went into a troublesome place.

"Chuu."

His eyes quickly went to the corner of his room. Cygne saw a black glob with red shining eyes looking at him. It was small about the size of a basketball ball. It didn't move to its spot nor Cygne as well.

The staring contest continued that made Cygne missed Tien's presence who entered without a sound.

He was observing his young master.

"Tien."

Cygne called out his name without looking at his direction. This 13 year old boy was acting weird. Usually the coward pup will shake tremendously from the display of murderous intent he directed, but not only the young master had no reaction... he was actually calm and his aura didn't fluctuates. Tien who was absorbed in his thought felt the eyes focused on him.

His eyes landed on Tien. He could see a firm cold gaze from Cygne.

"I lost my memory."

Then Cygne give him a hard blow.

  • Epilogue (2)

"Are you sure we are good to go now, leaving your majesty alone? HEY! SAY SOMETHING!" I grab at her shoulders which showed me her crying face. I got startled and don't know what to do, I saw her wipe her tears and made a protective barrier made out of mist.My brows furrowed and I couldn't understand why. We are staying a float in the sky. We couldn't land in the ground burning in fire."Mnnng.." I heard Fall gaining his consciousness and grabbing his head. Ciel and Alena were holding one another, he seems like feeding him with essence to keep her from losing control of not having being fed. While Thanato was keeping herself together. I couldn't understand what is wrong with her.A blinding light made us sleepy and then everything went blank. I heard the ringing sound of someone calling my name and I feel like it was something familiar.---"Nestor! Nestor!" Som

  • Epilogue

I thought that death is something painful that I would go through excruciating pain and my bones felt like being pound into dust but true to what the others said that what it would feel like.I lifted my body with eyes still shut close. It felt peaceful. Is this what it feels like being in heaven? Does Skyscraper have this Heaven and Hell? I'm sure Hades' palace is too grand to be called the dump of evil souls. But anyway, why does it feels so gentle and warm in here? I opened my eyes since I think it was safe not to pretend that I was sleeping. My limbs forgot to move. It was a utopia before the pollution from human waste for upgrading their way of living. Greeneries are abundant and the water from the stream I am near were as clear as crystal blue that reflects the bright sky. Animals from big to small were coexisting with one another. A predator taking care of a prey is a rare sight to see! I am mesmerized from what I am seein

  • Hold my hand I'm sleepy (2)

The space felt peaceful but there is a lot of scattered bodies drifting with the dust. They had been piled one after another and almost making a wall to protect Skyscraper. I went inside the mana ball that is pushing the carcasses away and I could see Arao happily humming while still shutting his eyes close. I tap his shoulders. He looks frail pitiful in his child's form. Maybe that's why Mother is always beside him. He looks like a child that needed attention."Brother Sky! Are we done? Can I open my eyes now?" I was pulled out of my thoughts when he suddenly talks. I smiled and patted his head."You can open it up now Ra. Don't be surprise to where we are alright?" I informed him since this is rather a new place for him to see. He move his head up and down before putting down his hands and jumped towards me. I chuckled and then I patted his head again."Are you ready for the journey that we will take?" I

  • Hold my hand I'm sleepy,

I walked towards Arao and in my shoulders strapped and quietly hanging is a green guitar that shines a different glow when Melody uses it. A sparkling particle which in every move it makes, a powdery dust were coming out of it, making flowers, images and all the glee a person wanted to see. In my hands were two daggers that eminates the contrasting aura of life and death. Mixing together into a color of black and white, forming a familiar symbol that had been the picture of balance.Death and mana were circling around me, not meeting or greeting, going on their own way. The veins in my body popped and the chest that had been hurting for pulsating hard is now started to bleed. It made me smile."Can you help me out for the last time now? I know you have been wanting to pull me out of this but if you do that, the whole of the Skyscraper will fall and that is something I wanted to avoid since all the people that I hold dear is livin

  • End of the line

It was dark like Cygnelius and I's consciousness. But the different is this one has a sound of a child crying. It was faint at first, I thought it was just a hum in the air but as I walk closer to the source of it, the clearer it gets. There is nothing much in the darkness and it wasn't creepy at all. The comforts it could bring to you is boundless yet your eyes are covered from the real comfort it could do. I walked some more and I saw a little girl squatting in the ground while hugging her knees. She's hiding her face in it and her shoulders were going up and done. I went to my knees and waited until she calmed a little bit."Are you feeling a little better Hope?" But she didn't reply or even look to my face. She is still weeping on her own. I sat beside her and I was glad she didn't push me away. I stayed there and wait since the flow of time in the consciousness was faster than the outside. She perked up but still hiding her face. I smiled and didn't talk th

  • Sleep little giant (2)

I bid my farewell to the both of them and went out of my body. It felt like my circadian phase had been messed up and I felt dizzy like what you will feel when riding a plane.I opened my eyes and was greeted with a quiet bursting of flames and there is no roars or shouts from Arao. What happened?I roam my eyes and couldn't find them both."Hope!" I shouted but I get no reply."Hope!" I repeated it once again but there is only silence. I couldn't feel her presence. I just went out for a short moment, please be alive! I used my wings and I kicked the foothold and my eyes scanned the surrounding but the fiery sea of fire is all I could see."Hope! Where are you?" I glided to the rocks on the sides and I almost slammed at the protruded rock behind it. I almost said goodbye to my head.I just said to keep him occupied! Why disappear with

  • Sleep little giant

["That mostly is my plan. Even though I wanted to give him a very rightful punishment but as things goes, I cannot satisfy my desires in exchange of the Skyscraper's survival...ain't I?"] I fixes my astral clothes just to dust off some anxiety inside of me from talking with her and seeing that serious beautiful face makes me fluster! It's different from talking with Thanato or Phoebe, this one is the real beauty but we have been talking since earlier, she haven't told me her name. Addressing her with ma'am and milady is too formal. I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to ask her of her name.["But if you wouldn't mind...could you tell me your name so that I could address you correctly? It seems like to formal for addressing you milady all the time... So if you don't mind telling, grant my foolish wish?"] This aint me. This is because of her blinding beauty! It's making me more nervous, seeing her intensely staring at me right now. Why is her personality

  • Steak - well done

The sun is the core and basic needs of a human being to survive. It provides nutrients and warmth also said to be the origin of life in Skyscraper. It was connected to the source of magic and sorcery. Without it acting as a medium, mana wouldn't be produced from the environment. In and which if you looked at it into a chef's perspective, it was the important condiment needed to make a dish flavorful.Mana is the requirement to do spells and heal someone. It's the basic requirement to do magic and the sun is the provider producer of it.I don't study college but in our highschool biology, Mrs. Reyes told us that the most important star between moon and the sun was the provider of vitamins and warmth. I wouldn't argue with that. The sun is the big ball of hot flames and many times bigger than the Earth. It's essential to living since humans are not immune to freezing cold and low temperature. Like the hum
