Being in a desperate position was not something that happened to me often, but when it did I often started asking why it would happen to me and only me.

Being broke and on the verge of going insane at any moment.

 I thought that was all but the only chance that I had at a good life was snatched away from my hands.

How should I go home now? I thought that I would disappear from home but it seems that I have to go back to that place again.

The screaming and fighting was deafening and going through that each day was bad for me.

Why was I rejected? Why did this happen?

I was so happy that I rushed over here today and yet my happiness was shattered.

This was the only chance that I had of starting a new life but that went through the drain and now I am back to square one with no plans.

Just my plain mind going back and forth thinking of all the possible reasons why this had to happen.

I met Natalia again that day and that was when she made the offer that I didn't know how to refuse.

"Marry me Thomas,marry me and leave all your worries behind" Natalia said as she smiled happily at me.

I was surprised at her proposal at this point. Do I have an option since the only plan that I had failed and working with the condition my home was in was not a chance I was willing to take.

Even though I don't know why she was making such a request and even though I found it suspicious, when she stretched out in my lowest point I took her hands and accepted her request.

Even if everything was going south at least one of this is going well for.

"I will marry you Natalia."I said as I gripped her hand happily.

A smile that had long disappeared from my face reappeared again.

Who would have thought that I would run into Natalia.

Beep! beep!

The sound of a notification that popped into my phone snapped me out of my thoughts.

I sighed as I shook my head.

Memories of the past leaving me wondering why I actually accepted that proposal that day.

She seemed like she wanted to help but yet she tossed me aside the moment I came into her life.

Now I wished I never took her hand that day.

I wish I just went back home as always that day and see what the future holds for me.

I should have even taken a hint when I came to her house and her Father Mr. Gabriel talked down to me the first day we met.

"As you have married into this family there are certain rules you have to follow." Mr. Gabriel said as he stared at me from head to toe.

He had a disapproving look on his face but there was not much he could do.

Natalia was holding into my hands happily as her father talked.

"I don't need you going outside and humiliating us." He continued.

I haven't even married Natalia.

"I won't air." I replied but he scoffed in response as if he didn't believe me.

"Wife and husband are alike saying things that they won't do." Mr. Gabriel retorted.

"I know your background isn't something worth looking into but don't act sly as you are the one marrying into our family.": He reminded me.

"Just remember that you are disposable and that can be tossed out at any moment. Do not think that because you married my daughter you are now a rich man, do not forget your place in this house." Her Father warned me.

Never for once have I forgotten that I come from the lowest place but he didn't need to remind me that each time.

"I will not forget my place in this house, sir . Rest assured." I told him to put his mind at ease but I don't think it worked.

I just wanted to be happy with Natalia but who was I kidding? The scowl on her Father's face should have told me that I was not welcomed here but I didn't mind.

Recalling memories of the past and memories of before I came here what's the most painful thing I have ever experienced.

Even though I was at my lowest point when I hadn't married Natalia I still have happy moments with my family even though things go crazy. You are still my family.

I sighed deeply for the tenth time.

 I should forget those silly memories.

Time to get to work.

I cracked my knuckles as I began typing on my keyboard.

I sat in the darkness of my room , staring at my laptop,its light being the only light that shone in my room.

The night was the best time for me to work. I could get work done and there would be no prying eyes to monitor me and ask what I was up to.

I needed to do this in private so no one would suspect Natalia or find out what was going on.

 I was looking out for small companies that had shares to sell.

The family's company income was falling slowly and It needed a boost in these trying times. All the repercussions would be grave and I didn't want to put Natalia through any stress. For a week now I have been searching for a company we could invest in. 

I needed to find a company that was still upcoming and whose shares are still low to buy from them. 

It would be a good investment if the company grew and a bad one if the shares suddenly fell overnight. It happens and it never ends well.

I even had to look into little details that won't matter like the families of the founder of the company to see if they were clean, if they could do anything that could drag the company down.

I knew they had a stockbroker that would do this job but the last one they did they ended up in this situation and the income of the company was falling.

I knew this more than anything even though it could stress me out it was the best I could do for Natalia,she would be happy if I found a company that they could invest in, and her happiness was my happiness.

I yawned quite loudly and stretched my tired body. I needed a really long sleep but no sleep for me till I found what I was looking for.

There was one company I had seen so far that was completely clean you're not company is completely clean but I saw nothing that could make it go bankrupt overnight. All it needed was a little revenue and it would stand firmly and grow more,I looked into the families and it was all good.

I yawned again, rubbing my forehead as my eyes grew blurry,I decided to rest my head a bit on my desk since I found what I was looking for.

I just needed to research more about them then show it to Natalia tomorrow.

I will just close my eyes for a bit…

Bang! Bang! 

I heard and I was startled awake for my sleep.

I sat upright and closed the laptop in front of me quickly and put it in my nightstand and locked it,tossing the key into my trousers.

Bang ! Bang ! Bang! 

I heard more loudly and I watched it all and quickly unbolted it and opened it.

I was met face to face with an angry maid.
