Casting a brief glance at Alex’s expressionless face, several of Clara’s attendants immediately exclaimed.

“T–That necklace… the one that symbolizes absolute authority!”

“That’s right! It’s said this necklace was valued at over ten million dollars! But due to a sudden act of greed, it vanished without a trace! Even now, rulers of various nations are still searching for the symbol of the Blue Ocean Dragon!”

Clara carefully picked up the necklace. Her appraisal could not be wrong, yet suspicion still rose within her.

“Where did you get this necklace?”

“I’m the same as you—someone who can judge an item with just two eyes,” Alex replied calmly. “What makes you so suspicious? Right now, I just happen to need money. How much is this necklace worth?”

Clara fell silent for a moment. Even in the past, its price had reached ten million dollars. Now, after the Blue Ocean Dragon Necklace had been lost for years and suddenly resurfaced, its value would surely multiply several times over.

“Based on my staff’s assessment, I can only purchase it for eight million dollars. What do you think?”

Alex slowly shook his head. Perhaps he had only just arrived in this new world—but when it came to business, he had once owned thousands of resource shops in the cultivation world.

“Judging by your reactions, this necklace should be worth far more than its past value… Twenty million dollars. I’ll sell it at that price.”

THUUUMP!

Several attendants felt as if their hearts had stopped beating.

The price he named was equal to the total annual profit of all merchants on Wine Grace Antique Street combined!

“Agreed?”

“Miss Clara?!” the attendants protested.

But in the end, the decision rested solely with Clara. She took out a black Royal VIP card.

“Deal—at the price you requested. All the money is inside this card. The PIN is 6666. Now you may enjoy the fruits of your fortune.”

With a faint look of disappointment, Alex—who suspected the necklace was worth even more than what he had named—let out a resigned breath.

“It’s just a necklace, and she didn’t even hesitate to buy it… This new world—perhaps it’ll be easy for me to control it within the palm of my hand,” he thought inwardly.

Just as he was about to leave for campus, Clara’s voice stopped him.

“Our transaction was enormous, and you brought great profit to my shop. Not even exchanging names—wouldn’t that be rude? What’s your name? If you run into trouble in the future, you can look for me… Wine Clara.”

Seeing her extend her hand, Alex accepted it without hesitation. He knew that building this connection would be the easiest path to strengthening his position amid vast wealth.

“Alex. And if one day you need my eyes to appraise something… you can come find me as well.”

Leaving Wine Grace Antique Street, Alex headed toward campus. Fifteen minutes later, his emotions suddenly flared.

‘RIP ALEX—SCAMMED TO DEATH ON ANTIQUE STREET, FROM YOUR BELOVED FRIEND ABEL?!’

Those words were boldly displayed at the entrance of the most prestigious campus in Draken City.

“Look, isn’t that Alex?! Why is he still alive?”

“Looks like Abel misjudged him?! The campus trash is standing there with veins popping in anger!”

RIIIP!

Alex tore down the banner. Knowing full well that Abel was behind it, he walked straight toward the classroom to demand an explanation.

“This is interesting! He’s been bullied for over three years now?! Seeing that anger on his face… is he finally going to fight back against Abel?”

“Where did he get the courage to challenge Abel? With no background at all, resisting will only bring disaster!”

Students whispered among themselves. Ignoring them, Alex walked toward the classroom.

BAAAANG!

He kicked the door open, his sharp gaze locking onto Abel, who was chatting with Djanu and Ruyan.

“Hey, look at the expression on our class trash! What made him enter so dramatically?”

“Alex?! How dare you break the classroom door! Do you realize this door is made of the finest steel in Draken City?! You’ll have to pay for it!”

Several students looked annoyed. But Alex merely sneered coldly.

“It’s just a steel door. How much could it cost?”

PFFFT!

The entire classroom burst into laughter at Alex’s confident words.

“Hahahaha! You can’t even afford a semester’s tuition, and you still want to pay for the door? Alex, have you gone insane?!”

Unlike the others, Abel narrowed his eyes. He had assumed Alex would have been beaten half to death by Clara’s men.

“I thought you were already dead—beaten to death after scamming Miss Clara’s shop. Turns out you’re tougher than I expected.”

Abel stood up from his desk and walked toward Alex, patting his shoulder.

“So why are you here, all angry? And smashing the door, no less. Do you realize that with this behavior, you could be expelled?”

Clicking his tongue in annoyance, Alex brushed Abel’s hand off his shoulder.

“To hell with the price of that worthless door. You’re the one who made that banner, right?”

Abel nodded casually, without the slightest guilt.

“So what?”

“Of course I’m here to cause trouble with you!” Alex’s voice rang out sharply.

Hearing the challenge, Abel—and even the entire classroom—burst into laughter.

“HAHAHAHA!”

“Where did he get the guts to pick a fight with Young Master Abel? Does Alex not know his own place?!”

“You heard him, right? He wants trouble with me?” Abel’s voice turned icy. “Looks like I really need to beat you down.”

Djanu and Ruyan, who were always by Abel’s side, stood up from their seats. Their burly figures advanced toward Alex.

“Looks like an interesting show is about to begin.”

The atmosphere grew tense. Some students—eager to see Alex beaten and humiliated once again—quickly fixed the damaged door and locked it tightly.

“I heard Miss Olivia is busy with her family’s business right now,” Djanu sneered. “Alex, where are you planning to seek protection now, huh?”

Djanu cracked his muscles, while Ruyan licked his lips, eager to smash Alex’s face.

Yet without the slightest fear, Alex did not retreat even a single step.

“You think I’m still as easy to bully as before? Now, apologize for what you’ve done to me.”

“Apologize?! Hahaha! Did you hear this trash just now?!”

Laughter echoed through the classroom, making Alex’s ears burn.

“Fine, if that’s what you want,” Alex said as he loosened his muscles.

“So—which one of you wants me to break their bones first?”

Alex turned off his phone screen, slipped it into his jacket pocket, and stepped out of the house. The old wooden door closed slowly behind him, leaving the inherited house wrapped once again in silence.Night had fully fallen.Dim streetlights cast long shadows along the narrow alley where Alex walked. His steps were calm, unhurried, as if he were heading toward something he had long anticipated. His destination wasn’t far—an old shop at the corner of the street, its paint peeling and its signboard hanging crooked. That was where the three debt collectors who had haunted his father’s life usually gathered.Alex pushed open the half-rusted iron door.Creeeak…Inside, three men were lounging casually. Cigarettes burned, bottles of liquor lay scattered across the table. When they saw Alex enter, the three exchanged glances before curling their lips into crooked smiles.“Well, well… the kid came alone,” said the burly bald man. “Alex, right?”Alex stepped inside with steady strides, even

“Who is it?” Alex asked again, his voice low but alert.“Alex… it’s me.”The woman’s voice sounded calm, slightly hesitant, yet clearly trying to remain polite.Alex frowned. The voice wasn’t unfamiliar. He walked slowly toward the door and opened it just a crack. A woman stood outside, wearing a simple beige coat. Her hair was neatly tied back, her face beautiful with sharp features and intelligent eyes. In her hand was a black leather handbag—expensive, but understated.“Wine Clara?” Alex asked flatly. The woman smiled faintly, relief evident on her face. “Thank goodness you still remember me.”Alex opened the door fully. “Come in.”Clara was slightly surprised. She had expected questions—or even to be driven away. But Alex’s demeanor was far too calm for someone who had once been at odds with her over a trivial matter.Once inside, Clara immediately observed the house. Simple. Clean. Yet cold and eerily quiet.“Are you alone?” she asked.“Always,” Alex replied briefly.Clara nodded

Djanu stepped forward first, followed by Abel and Ruyan, who spread out in a half-circle.A formation painfully familiar to the original body’s memories.Back then, the original owner of this body always stood in the center of that circle—head lowered, trembling in fear, silently enduring the bullying until his entire body was covered in wounds. But now, the positions were reversed. The Alex of today was no longer a loser. He was a former God Cultivator, once revered across countless regions of the Immortal Realm.“So you dare challenge us here,” Abel said coldly. “This place… wasn’t it always the graveyard of your dignity?”Alex smiled faintly—a smile utterly devoid of emotion.“That’s exactly why I chose this place,” he replied calmly. “So you can experience again what you used to do.”Djanu snorted. “Bullshit. You think answering a lecturer’s questions makes you someone important?”He lunged forward instantly, his fist shooting toward Alex’s face, powerful and filled with force.Bu

Do you still have any respect for me as your lecturer?”A young man with a slightly muscular build, dressed neatly, entered the classroom together with Zonia.Abel’s jaw stiffened. Djanu’s and even Ruyan’s expressions froze. For some reason, every time they were about to beat Alex, someone always appeared to stop them.“Alex… once again, you’re truly lucky,” Abel said coldly. “But once you step outside campus grounds, I’ll continue this matter.”Abel signaled Djanu to back off. Yet Alex’s grip was terrifyingly strong—like iron shackles that could only be unlocked with a special key.“W–Why…?” Djanu choked out.Alex suddenly released his grip and shoved Djanu aside.“I’ll be waiting for that time to come.”He sat down in the seat provided. Unexpectedly, Zonia sat down beside him.“Isn’t your seat in the back?” Al

Interesting…” Realizing who the old man truly was, Alex continued walking toward the best shop on the antique street. That shop belonged to Wine Clara—the finest antique appraiser in Draken City.Upon entering, Abel, who was browsing the items displayed on the shelves, immediately spoke to Alex.“Why are you tailing us?! Do you really think that rotten clay jar of yours can be exchanged for money here? Hahahaha! You must feel scammed, right?!”“Scammed? I don’t think so.
