Recovery

As the lich walked toward the members of the temporary alliance with a bloodthirsty glow and a deathly aura permeating around it. It looked like a savage demon king of hell that was out to get their souls.

The members of the alliance, who were trembling in fear and despair knew that there was nothing left for them to do and they were going to be killed. Their hearts were gripped with fear and their chests tightened.

Now they were only waiting to be slaughtered without any resistance. They never imagined that death would come so quickly their breathing was hurried as they were very unwilling to die.

Whoosh

A pitch-black ball of mana tore through the air to arrive before the members of the Tian family. It screeched through the air.

Ahh!

As the cries of anguish and suffering rang out in the gloomy underground room, the lich stopped for a second and the air stilled momentarily before a furious aura emanated out of the lich and rushed toward Alex.

'You damned bastard! Ants playing cheap tricks on the verge of death?'

It shouted in the minds of everyone present telepathically, all of them paled because the outburst was very strong and their internal organs tumbled about because of the soundless shout. Some of them lose their sense of balance as they fell on their butts.

Even though it rang in all their minds the true victim of this fierce outburst was Alex who had again changed the trajectory of the lich attack and diverted it to hit the members of the Tian household. It made holes in their bodies as their screams rang out.

It resulted in Enraging the lich who had already ignored the ant manipulating its attacks from the back and playing cheap tricks. It did not understand the purpose of deflection if the attack still killed people.

Its voice raged in their minds, the members of the temporary alliance unaware as to what caused it to become so enraged.

Alex standing close to the only member of the tian household had a panicking but sly look in his eyes.

The lich was enraged by Alex's act of manipulating its attack so much that it didn't have the thought of enjoying the battle and only had blood in its eyes and a desire to kill this insolent and disgusting insect.

Screech!

The wind screeched as a dark shadow appeared behind Alex with so much speed that it looked as if it teleported there, and swung its magic staff before anyone had the time to react.

--

A few hours ago, a decrepit and disheveled corpse was lying on the bed in a small inn.

It was shriveled and without a sign of vitality but this motionless corpse breathed once in a while making it evident that it wasn't dead. its heart beating very faintly after several seconds.

If someone knew Alex very well and saw the withered body, he would immediately recognize that it was none other than Alex. He looked just deformed bones as he lay there.

After the clone had formed after absorbing his vitality and most of all, a part of his soul. it had acquired independence.

This resulted in the clone having a different personality and the reason that it left right after being born and not even helping the original Alex.

It was because it thought that it had become superior, After all.

It can be comprehended easily by the concept of yin and yang, a person had two kinds of yins and yang inside their body that lived in harmony with each other.

But in the case of Alex, he had his yin and yang separated and formed into two separate entities making a great imbalance appear in his soul and body.

And that is why the clone that constituted this messed up replication resulted in betraying its maker and going out to cause trouble. the clone has a personality vastly different than the original Alex

Alex was lying in the room, and the mana in the atmosphere was slowly attracted toward Alex and seeped into his pores freely the reason behind this is that the mana inside Alex was starting to circulate a little and this circulation caused the mana to be attracted towards his dried up mana core.

As the mana circulated in his corpse-like body his eyelids twitched and the mana started rushing toward him quickly.

A Vortex was formed around him as the mana gathered inside his body it started to heal his body by a little and Alex started to regain his consciousness slowly.

The mana gushed in his body like a dam had broken, his shriveled body gradually had flesh and blood being restored slowly. The mana showing its wonders.

He opened his eyes slowly and groaned as he was feeling immense pain along with the weakness that came along with it.

He regained his bearings gradually and then his mood became tragic, he started to tremble because of pain but even more because of the rage boiling in his heart.

The process in which the mana started rushing to Alex waking up took only about a few minutes after the clone left him on his own devices.

It was infuriating for Alex to remember his clone running away but he also felt fortunate that it didn't kill the original Alex as then the clone would've become the original but right now its life was uncertain with Alex waking up.

It was because it didn't inherit the replication ability but on the other hand the original Alex had the replication and he could reabsorb the clone to regain the balance inside him.

And so, a gloomy Alex stood up after having recovered a bit. because he had to get out of the ferenzi city before he was investigated for the phenomenon of so much mana forming a vortex above his head.

Alex walked to the window after stopping the absorption of mana and jumped out to float with telekinesis even though it hurt his head.

"wha....what the hell happened here?"

"Could it be that an expert had a breakthrough?"

"maybe, maybe not, who knows."

Whooshing sounds along with the shouts of the cultivators and the discussions of the common people rang in the air as they were very curious to know what caused the mana to behave this way.

Before anyone even came close to the inn, Alex made a black cloak and sped away. He mixed in the crowd and gradually came out of the ferenzi city while listening to the crowd making false theories and spreading rumors.

He didn't get out of the gate and flew over the city wall and sped towards the forest, while also hiding from the guards standing guard because he didn't want unnecessary trouble.

After flying for a while he reached the goblin dungeon to recover and got his clones back.

The clone that keeps watch outside the dungeon was absorbed right away and was replaced with another five weak clones who Alex had speed away and gathered mana frantically.

Alex entered the goblin dungeon to find himself in the familiar rainforest.

He walked towards the portal leading to the world of the goblins and called the clones that he had left behind to absorb them and the loot they have been gathering all this time.

As he walked forward, the clones came to him with all sorts of loot.

He absorbed the skill through the system and left the metal toys in one place and spread out his telekinesis in the form of tentacles to absorb the cores.

The skills he had been gathering all this time also had to be deleted as the status sheet was full of skills and it was all messy so he decided to delete them and use the rejuvenating energy that strengthened him on an existential level to heal his soul.

He had the thought of teaching his clone a lesson after recovering as he was still boiling with rage and anger.

"But I should recover first."

'Wouldn't want to have my ass handed over by a tiny part of myself.'
