Chapter 13: Pointless.

Running was no longer in the mind of Stan else he would have left even they arrived so his supposed movement was not going to be towards to running from them, therefore he decided to act by the command of Sullivan by maintaining his position close to Trisha as he waited to see what their next action would be even though the looks on their faces could already reveal a bit about their next action.

“Bond him.” Sullivan said to Oscar.

Just as Oscar was approaching Stan to carry out the instruction he was given, Ling Tingzhe came up in front of Stan and said to Sullivan. “Master, please, this is not necessary.”

“Will you move aside?!” Sullivan scolded him because his standing in front of Stan caused Oscar to stop.

“Ling, you know the consequences of what you are about to do.” Atkinson reminded him as the anger in their faces was waxed high due to what they were seeing and how Ling had turned out to be in favor of Stan instead of the mission which they had left the school for.

Ling was still not aware of the reason for their increased anger because it was higher than when he left them in obedience to Sullivan’s command to go after Stan with Rudo.

“You were given a single and simple task to carry out, but here you are resisting us from our purpose out here.” Sullivan said to him, then he felt like there was a cause why Ling was preventing them from taking Stan so he had to continue in order to clear his head with a question. “Where is your partner? Where is Rudo? You were to be him and not this bastard.” Sullivan asked that question thinking Ling was not aware of what happened to Rudo.

Ling was silent as he did not know how to break the news to Sullivan. He too was thinking they were not aware of Rudo’s death. But in all, he had to answer the question. “Rudo is….”

He was not allowed to complete his words before Trisha cuts in, “There will be no need for that.” She said that as she could tell that Sullivan and the others had already seen the body of Rudo. She was able to know this after noticing that Callum was not with them again and she definitely knew that death was not what had separated him from them.

Both Ling and Stan were surprised to hear her say that because they were expecting more from her and not those words. Nevertheless, Stan already knew that nothing was going to stop Sullivan from taking him back to the school and that was the place where things were going to be settled for either good or bad.

It was also at the sound of Trisha’s words that Sullivan remembered her case and said to her. “Young lady, do not think that your case has been forgotten. You are also coming with us.”

Ling turned to her as she said those words, then he whispered, “At least we should let him know what happened to him.” He was still talking with the view that Sullivan was not still aware of Rudo’s death and needed to know what happened to him.

“Look around, Callum is not here. He must have taken the corpse of Rudo back to the academy.” Trisha whispered back to him. Stan also heard her response as he was close too and she was able to know this because that happened to be her specialty. Even if she was injured, that did not stop her chip from working.

“When were you going to tell us?” Sullivan asked Ling, drawing their focus again to him before he continued. “You lost a brother yet you could not tell us, you could not even wrap him up properly. You left him there just like that.” Sullivan poured out his anger in words.

Yet Ling had an explanation for his action and was ever ready to defend his action even though he could feel some guilt, seeing that the words of Sullivan were bent on making him hate himself and his action.

Just before was going to dish out words to justify his actions, Stan said, “You want me right? Here I am. I’m not running again.”

He said that so as to stop any form of argument for the time being. Also he knew that Trisha needed more treatment to be better and if they are to return to the academy, then she will definitely get the treatment she deserves.

With those words coming from Stan, Oscar and Jerald proceeded with binding his hands which he put forward for them to tie properly in the best way that seems right to them.

Both Trisha and Ling were very surprised to see him this calm as he was in support of being taken back to the school as a captive. Ling was quite aware that Stan knew very well about his fate if they were to take him back to the school and he could not believe that Stan was ready to face his fate.

Well all the same, he could not stop him from being taken because he could not fight his master, so all he could do was to be calm, cooperate with Stan even though he did not know what his plan was but for sure he knew that Stan was not ready to die. Yet even if he has chosen to be killed, then he would help in the best way possible to ensure that death be averted from him, even if it means approaching the counsel by himself, going against their judgment and even helping him escape again.

After Stan Gibson was securely tied up, Oscar and Jerald turned to Trisha about to tie her up also because she was now an enemy to the academy because of her actions.

Seeing this inhuman action about to displayed by Oscars, Ling had to come in again by saying to Sullivan who was the right person to talk to, “Come on Master, She is injured and can’t attempt to run away. There would be no need to tie her up. Please.”

Sullivan looked into his eyes for some minutes before giving a response. His words were not to him but to Oscar and Jerald. “That’s enough.”

So they stopped at his command as Ling said to Sullivan. “Thank you master.” Then he goes close to Trisha helping her up from the bed as they both looked at Stan with pity. They were angry that he had helped them against the aliens yet they could not do anything to help in return at the moment.

“Let’s move.” Sullivan commanded as he turned around, taking the lead while the others followed.
