Darrus made sure that the live streaming was visible to all the other Governors.

Once the live stream set was ready, he signaled to Dominic to begin.

Dominic felt a wave of intense excitement.

As part of the effort to uncover Max's crimes, he would play a major role.

He not only wanted to destroy Max's reputation but also carve out a name for himself among the officials as someone trustworthy and capable of taking decisive action.

With his hands slightly trembling from excitement, Dominic approached the first house, located closest to the gate of the luxury community.

He rang the doorbell and stood tall, preparing himself for the role he was about to play.

The camera turned on, displaying Dominic's face on the screen.

"My name is Dominic, a government investigator," he said, his voice cold and filled with authority.

"We are conducting an investigation, and we require all residents to cooperate."

Behind him, the officials began stretching their necks, curious about who the woman allegedly kept by Max was.

The atmosphere around the door grew increasingly tense.

Dominic clenched his fists, ready to reveal the evidence he had long prepared.

Mr. Avo and Chief Raul, became more nervous.

Though they knew Max was being falsely accused, they couldn't shake the anxiety about what they would find inside the house.

Chief Raul appeared even more restless.

He still remembered how calm Max had been when accusations about his harem and illicit affairs were brought up.

Yet, Chief Raul also felt suspicious.

What had made Max so confident and unaffected by all the negative claims? He felt the need to investigate further.

When the door finally opened fully, what appeared behind it was not the scene anyone expected.

All eyes, including those of the officials and Dominic, were focused on a middle-aged woman who looked nothing like what they had imagined.

The woman appeared to be in her sixties, with gray hair that seemed quite old.

Her appearance was very plain and simple.

She wore clothes that were far from luxurious, and was even slightly overweight.

Her face showed no signs of beauty or charm that were typically associated with women believed to be part of the life of a wealthy and powerful man.

The officials behind Dominic exchanged glances.

Confusion spread among them.

Everything they had heard about Max’s harem-allegedly full of beautiful and alluring women-seemed to contradict the reality before them.

This woman did not match the image they had in mind.

They even whispered quietly among themselves, some wondering if all of this was a lie.

This elderly woman had absolutely no aura of beauty or luxury that is usually associated with women linked to a man with vast wealth and power.

The officials began to question: Was this all just a big lie?

Although Dominic felt a jolt of surprise and confusion upon seeing the middle-aged woman, he quickly thought of a plausible explanation.

A look of disgust crossed his face.

In a mocking tone, he said, "So, this is Max's unique taste, huh?"

"Turns out Max isn't into beautiful women. Instead, he prefers... middle-aged women who look plain."

The statement carried an unmistakable tone of scorn, causing the officials behind him to fall silent for a moment.

Some exchanged glances, while others tried to suppress small, puzzled smiles.

Dominic continued, “I’m relieved that Seraphina broke up with Max."

"Otherwise, it would have been like putting flowers in a pile of manure-completely wasting Seraphina’s beauty!"

The middle-aged woman, who had been observing the officials with a confused expression.

Her eyes scanned the crowd carefully, searching for someone familiar.

When she didn’t spot Max among them, her face showed a deepening frown of confusion.

"Who are you, and what is your purpose in coming here?" she asked, her voice firm despite a slight nervousness.

Max quickly lowered the woman as soon as her feet touched the sidewalk. His movement was a little faster than it should have been, almost rough compared to the gentleness he had shown earlier. He pulled his arm back when he realized how long she had rested her head against him, too close, too comfortable, with her cold breath still brushing the skin of his neck. The woman staggered slightly, then carefully sat down on the grass, holding her ankle again. Aurora did not notice the change in Max at all. Instead, she crouched in front of the woman, her face full of empathy. “What is your name?” Aurora asked softly, as if they had known each other for a long time. The woman looked up. “Liora,” she answered quietly. Aurora smiled sincerely. “That is a beautiful name. It suits you very well.” Liora returned a faint smile that was almost invisible, then lowered her head again, as if holding back the pain. Max cleared his throat softly, his focus returning to the swollen ankle. He opene

BLAAAR! SCREEECH!!! The car tires screamed loudly against the asphalt, and Aurora’s body was thrown forward until the seat belt jerked her back harshly. Her heart immediately started pounding. “What was that?!” she shouted, her hands gripping the dashboard. “Did we hit something? A person?!” Max had already turned off the engine. His face was tense but controlled. He quickly turned to Aurora, one hand gently holding her arm to calm her down. “Calm down, Babe. I am not sure, but I braked because I saw a sudden shadow in front of us. Stay here and do not get out yet. Let me check.” Aurora nodded slowly, though her eyes were still wide with fear. “Okay… but be careful, Babe.” Max gave a faint smile to reassure her, then opened the door and stepped out. He walked slowly toward the front of the car. The headlights were still on, brightly illuminating a figure lying on the road. A young woman in a long black coat was sitting while holding her ankle. Her long wavy hair framed her pal

Aston was the name he hid behind his new human identity. He took a slow breath, trying to keep the innocent expression he had practiced for years. Thin, polite, not threatening. The typical face of a disguised demon. “Sorry, but I do not understand,” he said in the calmest voice he could make. “I am only a new lecturer here. I do not know what you mean by a demon cult member.” He even gave a faint smile, as if he was truly confused. “Or is it some kind of campus metal organization? Maybe a new music club?” He played his role very well. Max stared at Aston’s face for a few seconds to judge, measure, and look straight into the depths of a soul wrapped in lies and ancient sins. The corner of his mouth lifted a little. “Well,” Max said quietly. “All demons are like that.” A subtle change passed through the atmosphere around them. As if the air between them tightened, waiting, watching two different beings stand face to face. “Demons are always good at lying,” Max continued. Aston

Max’s car slowed down, the large tires scraping against the stone corridor of the campus, which reflected a soft purple-silver glow from the evening sky. Aurora felt a breeze pass by, carrying a familiar scent, Max’s scent, just before the car door opened. Max stepped out of the driver’s seat with steady steps, his posture firm and his shadow stretching long across the ground. The moment he removed his sunglasses, his sharp gaze softened as soon as it found Aurora. Without looking at Aston at all, as if the man did not exist, Max pulled his wife into his arms. “My wife,” his voice was deep and warm, like always. “How was your day?” Aurora placed her cheek on her husband’s chest, letting that faint dark fragrance calm her. “Tired…” she whispered softly, both spoiled and honest. “I had so many classes today and the assignments too… I do not know, it feels like my head is about to explode.” Max let out a quiet laugh, a sound only Aurora ever heard. “Then let us escape from all that

The afternoon passed slowly, as if the entire campus was being pressed down by an invisible heat. The white buildings with gold ornaments reflected the sunlight, and hundreds of students walked by with tired faces after the early weeks of the new semester.Aurora moved quickly through the crowd, holding her music theory books against her chest. Her face looked exhausted, not only because of her packed classes, but also because she had spent the past few nights waiting for Max to return from demon hunting. She knew Max would never admit he was tired, but Aurora could see the dark aura that clung to him every time he came back. However, Aurora never told anyone about it, not even Max. She did not know what her husband really did, but she only knew that a dark energy stayed on him, and sometimes she quietly cleaned it away.Today, she only wanted to sit, breathe, and maybe drink something sweet in the cafeteria while waiting for Max to pick her up.But her steps stopped when a tall ma

"And we have many demons to hunt."Max stood beside him, arms folded, his face cold and focused. "Starting tonight, we will not wait for them to attack. We will be the ones hunting."That night, Vesula became a slaughter ground for the members of the Demon Cult. The mid generation grandmasters, men in their forties to their sixties who still had strength, speed, and sharp instincts, spread across the entire city.
