Chapter One Hundred & Fifty-Seven

“Honey, honey,” Stella rushed into the mansion, sweating and breathing heavily. She almost bumped into Damien in the lobby.

He had an inexpressive expression.

“Honey, we are in trouble.” She panicked.

He darted his eyes at her for a while before sighing.

“Trouble? What have you done this time?” He asked, walking to the living room.

“I didn’t cause anything, it's just that - - the thing is that - - you see, the problem is - -” She stuttered, unable to come clean to her husband. She was ashamed to tell him that she borrowed money from loan sharks and also afraid that he might make jest of her or insult her.

“If you don’t have anything to say, then don’t disturb my peace because I’m in a hurry.” He sneered disgustingly.

She was annoyed but she was in no position to get angry with him because he was her only hope. He had money. He had funds somewhere so he could help elevate her family since they needed it.
