The evolution path of his beast glimmered before his eyes like a visual screen that only he could see.

{ Evolution Start: Iron Class to infinity }

{ Beast Name: Lung Dragon }

{ An ancient royalty of ancient royals beast that controlled the beast world until ????? }

{ Beast explanation: ???????? The Lung beast is overly pompous, prideful and royalty can only be earned not enforced and they are easily prone to show off... The beast grows from devouring the essence of other beast and further evolution is sustained through training or the beast might be lost or kill the user for finding it unworthy }

A gulp went down Rex's throat like a piece of hard molten rock.

He took a quick peek at the beast standing slightly beside him like a ticking time bomb.

{ The Lung Dragon after consuming the skin of ancient enemies snakes can stun them and have an outstanding increase of strength that last only for a few minutes and the beast can hide or show its true form as it deems fit }

Rex stared at the beast once again. A sudden wave pulsed through his blood.

The cursed bloodline, as everyone had described him, had not only awakened a beast but an ancient one at that, capable of endless evolution.

He didn't know if it was luck or if the eleven gods of Saturn had finally listened to him bawling himself to sleep at night.

He was going to grow. He was going to evolve his beast until everyone thought twice before calling him names and before mocking his parents. This was the point in his life where everything changed.

His hands trembled as reality hit him. While Harold celebrated his Emerald-class eagle with its fixed limits, Rex's beast had infinite potential.

Just then, a voice chimed loudly into his thoughts.

"Hiding so that no one catches you training here? Such a new low for the all pathetic Rex"

The voice sliced right through Rex's thoughts like a blade.

"Maybe I could help with that and also crush out of existence that pathetic rubbish that shouldn't exist in the first place."

A snake slithered into the hall first, glimmering with inherited wickedness.

Then a chubby guy stepped forward with a deep frown on his face.

Rex recognized him almost instantly.

Annoid Fletcher.

They had been classmates in junior high school.

 Though his parents weren't rich, they had fought their way into giving him the proper education they could afford.

But people like Annoid made his life miserable, bullying him at the slightest opportunity and making sure he was reminded of his place in society.

"Hey dude," Rex said, keeping his voice steady. "I just finished training myself, so you can have the hall to yourself. Not like the hall can contain both of us in the first place." Rex's voice dripped with so much sarcasm but Annoid was too slow to recognize it.

Rex ignored him and started walking away.

He looked back, but his beast remained where it was. Only a few moments later did it start crawling behind him, this time not lazily but with a hint of lazy anger. Rex could sense it wanted a fight or was just generally angry at Rex's cowardice.

But Rex knew better than to get himself into a fight and lose his chance at the arcane academy.

Before he could leave the hall, Annoid stepped in his way.

"I don't remember saying you could leave just yet."

"I don't want any trouble, Annoid!" Rex frowned deeply, but it only seemed to fuel Annoid's cruelty.

"Same here," Annoid lied with a nasty grin. "So I'll give you two options. Hand your beast over to me and I'll grind it to make a smoothing paste. Or I can beat the hell out of you to get your beast!"

"None. You aren't getting anything!" Rex shoved Annoid out of the way with a simple push.

He had trained himself over the years. He was well built and his skills were above the average teenager. While Annoid was nothing more than another over-pampered Saturner.

He wanted to be strong but his social status always made him the center of bullying and placed him in the position where he could not do anything, especially since his parents were usually at the receiving end.

Annoid's blood boiled over with rage.

"Kill him. Kill both of them. No one will question us!"

As though driven by instincts, the snake attacked, launching itself right at Rex's neck, fangs bared and ready to inject every bit of its venom.

Time slowed. Rex tried to dodge but he was somehow petrified and the only thing he could do was stare into the slit of the snake's eyes. The snake was going to hit. The venom was going to kill him and there was nothing that he could do about it.

"You would say I didn't warn you!" A satisfying smirk cuts right through Annoid's face.

"These are just a scratch of the consequences you get when the poor and nobody forget who they are and try to mingle with people that are way above their leagues in the society."

Rex was forced to take another peek at his nonchalant looking beast.Lung's mockery soon melted into a scoff, slowly trotting towards his direction with renewed laziness and pride."I don't know if you're just slow but you should realize already that I'm not a regular beast. Even the most simple things for other beasts requires extensive rituals for me! At least after the third trial you should have gotten that! I didn't expect you to be also dumb amongst other things!"Those words stung Rex to his bones. Rex replied casually.He wasn't the one to give a damn about PR.Boos and jeers filtered through the halls in roaring waves, immediately followed by murmurs of condescending words."His family has never grown a pair of balls over the last few decades, I really wasn't expecting anything else.""Haha, that's actually the best option if you ask me, at least he knows his place and who he shouldn't mess with!"Standing over at the other end of the counter, Emma's face flushed red with embarrassment.Even though they were nothing but forced partners in a sense, anything attributed to your partner in this world was also attributed to you.Shame boiled right through her lungs but there was nothing else that she could do other than look at him with her eyes rolling in spite.The feeling of watching his mortal enemy go under the tons of insults hauled at him caused a lasting sweet sensation of happiness to rise right through Harold's guts.However, that wasn't enough,

Emma's eyes glimmered as she waited for a response. "We can discuss the details over dinner." He handed an invitation card over and she attempted to go with him but Rex quickly stopped her, a frown glazing over his face."Should I have to remind you that we have our first training session today?"Those words caused Emma to scoff and roll her eyes at the same time."That's the point that you are not getting Mr. Trash, I would give anything just to be the farthest away from you that I possibly can! Besides, who wouldn't want to have fun with someone like Harold instead of wasting time with a cursed bloodline failure!"Harold's face lit up with triumph. He slid close to Rex and whispered into his hearing with venom dripping from every word."Don't worry about the training, Rex

The guardian quickly replied, apologies filling his voice but Emma wouldn't take it.She turned to Rex."You did this deliberately didn't you? You couldn't keep that slacked d**k to yourself and decided to ruin my life with your horniness didn't you!” The cores of the halls shook by her ravaging again. She paused, then her eyes grew wild.“You have to forfeit, right now!" She glared at Rex like he was something that crawled out of the gutters."You're not the only one who's unsatisfied by the results Emma, I would have done that already before you even thought of it if that were possible." Rex replied calmly.But it only flared Emma's rage even further. "And who do you think is stupid enough to believe such lies? You've been stalking me for so long, I am sure you

He attacked Rex who slid out of the way and shoved a fist into his stomach, sending him flying through the hall.Rex was shocked at the impact of the fist that connected, his body feeling every bit lighter. Blood poured from Annoid's mouth and he instantly fainted."We need to leave right now!" said Rex.Annoid was still nobility and he had not grown enough to start throwing everyone's dead weight around or he would be dead any moment. "And you need to change back to your initial form, people are afraid of what they do not know and we would not want anyone experimenting on you. For Annoid, we will find an explanation later!"Lung grumbled before returning back to his original form.Soon, Rex was in the waiting room where they would stay for a few weeks and learn about the arcane

"What are you doing, Jim?! Stop! You should be attacking him, not yourself!" he screamed with a cracking voice. But the snake didn't even flinch at his voice. It didn't hear him. It just kept biting into its own flesh, tearing its own scales, chewing its own body apart like it was the most natural thing in the world.Fear slammed through Annoid's spine in cold waves. He turned toward Rex, rage and panic mixing in his voice."Tell that demon to stop whatever it did to my Jim right now!"He pointed a shaking finger. "You know my family! You know how powerful we are!
