BEAST EMPEROR

Chapter 1: Duel

Two youths stood facing each other in the battlestage, one holding a sword while the other held a spear. Outside the battlestage was a crowd of excited spectators. These youths looked to be thirteen or fourteen years of age, each with an aura unique to themselves.

One had an aura of sharpness that seemed to want to cut down everything in its path while the other had a bone piercing aura, it felt like even the Heavens could be pierced. Arrogance written all over their faces, neither putting the other on their eyes. "Lu Zhen, today I shall show you the might of the spear. Today, you will acknowledge the spear as the King of Weapons!" said one of the youths as he pointed his spear towards his opponent.

The spear holding youth had dashing looks, his eyebrows were sharp,long blond hair, clear blue eyes and a handsome face, his body well refined for a youth his age with baby-like skin. 

"Jin Ha, how dare you point that measly stick of yours at me! Courting death!" said the other youth coldly.

This youth was called Lu Zhen, his looks were not so great, he was quite average in simple terms, his face wasn't dashing in the slightest, eyes were black like everyone else but what distinguished from the rest was his aura. His aura was unyielding and deep. The spear holding youth was called Jin Ha. They were both young masters of their branch families and there was a feud between these two families for a long time. 

Lu Zhen unsheathed his sword and Sword Aura burst forth, Jin Ha's spear vibrated and his Spear Aura was also released. 

"BEHOLD THE POWER OF MY WEAPON!!!" They shouted these words at the same time and the battle started. 

Whoosh! 

They disappeared from where they stood and reappeared with their weapons clashing. This speed wasn't something ordinary people could see through. 

Clang! Clang! Clang! 

Numerous moves were already exchanged in a short span of a few breaths. They were really amazing youths. 

Whoosh!!!

The crowd cheered from excitement, it wasn't everyday that they got to watch such intense fights. "Amazing, it's said that both Lu Zhen and Jin Ha are geniuses that are hard to find in ten thousand years!" one of the spectators said. As the battle intensified, both youths released their cultivation bases, they were both at the Seventh Stage of Body Refining Realm.

Cultivation base in this world is separated into seven realms, Body Refining Realm, Meridian Strengthening Realm, Qi Condensation Realm, Qi Purification Realm, Soul Condensation Realm, Soul Purification Realm and Mortal Shedding Realm. Each realm is more powerful than the previous one.

The Body Refining, Meridian Strengthening and Qi Condensing Realms are regarded as the foundation building realms.

These realms are the beginning of a cultivator's life and if your foundation is not strong, you won't go far in your cultivation realm. The Body Refining Realm as the name suggests is where cultivators strengthen their bodies beyond human capabilities, Meridian Strengthening Realm is when one strengthens their meridians in preparation for Qi condensing, the larger and stronger your meridians are, the more Spirit Qi you can hold within your body and the stronger you'll be in the Qi Condensation Realm.

Qi Condensation Realm experts can also fortify their bodies with Spiritual Qi to contend with magic weapons. 

Magic weapons are far stronger than ordinary weapons and they are separated into ranks, from D rank and all the way down to SSS rank and there are sub grades such as D rank low grade weapon, D rank middle grade weapon, D rank high grade weapon and D rank peak grade weapon. A normal D rank weapon is capable of cleanly chopping off the head of a fully grown bull. Magic weapons are also very expensive so few people have them and those that have them have strong backings behind them. Lu Zhen and Jin Ha both have C rank peak grade weapons. 

Lu Zhen unleashed a sword technique "Soundless Severing" powerful sword waves attacked Jin Ha but Jin Ha wasn't easy to bully either, he unleashed a foot technique, "Elegant Cranes Footsteps" and quickly dodged all of Lu Zhen's attacks. "Quick step" Jin Ha appeared in front of Lu Zhen in a blink of an eye and attacked fiercely, "Thousand piercing spears" although he could only produce a hundred piercing spears, it was quite a terrifying attack. Lu Zhen tried his best to avoid having his vital parts damaged. His white robes were now dyed red with blood. 

The fight's momentum continued to increase, techniques after techniques were unleashed and these youths were contracting wounds, both their robes were dyed red with blood. 

"Haaa…haaa…haaa…" they both took deep breaths as they looked at each other. "Jin Ha, let's end this battle with one last attack, no holding back!" Lu Zhen suggested, "Fine by me!" Jin Ha had no reason to refuse, they were after all evenly matched. Lu Zhen took a sword stance, he closed his eyes and concentrated all his power to his sword. Jin Ha didn't stand idly by and also prepared his next attack, he took a stance of a javelin thrower, his right arm expanded as power filled both it and the spear. 

"Wind Cutter!" Lu Zhen slashed with his sword vertically downwards and the wind was literally cut by him, his attack went straight for Jin Ha and Jin Ha also unleashed his spear technique, "Javelin Stinger!" he threw his spear like a javelin and the two techniques clashed. 

Boom! 

Powerful shockwaves spread throughout the whole place, the battlestage cracked and the winds howled. They were both pushed back to the edge of the stage before they finally stabilised themselves. Jin Ha drank a black pill while everyone was covering their eyes, veins popped all over his body and his body was brimming with power.

Swoosh! 

He disappeared from where he stood, caught his spear that was flying in the air and went straight for Lu Zhen, all this happened at breathtaking speed. After stabilising himself, Lu Zhen's hairs stood on end as he sensed danger, he looked up only to see a spear aiming straight for his heart.

He then reflexively directed it away from himself using his sword but he had lost too much energy, the spear pierced his shoulder and directly severed his right arm, Jin Ha then viciously kicked him in his abdomen sending him flying out off the stage. He viciously crashed into the ground and vomited mouthfuls of blood.
