CHAPTER TWO

**CRYSTAL KINGDOM**

ADOLPHUS

continued from last chapter

As we hurtled towards each other, a sudden gust of wind erupted, halting our collision.

The air crackled with energy, and we all knew who was responsible, even though no one had said a word.

Marius, the rogue fighter with forbidden powers, had arrived.

He relished in using his abilities, even when it meant breaking the rules.

"You're making a mistake,"

Marius growled, his voice echoing through the battlefield.

"And who asked for your help?"

Taylor spat from the back.

Marius laughed, a sinister sound that sent shivers down our spines.

"Listen, weakling whenever the nobles speak, you listen because my fighting abilities are incomparable to yours, and if you doubt me, we can settle it right now."

I could feel my anger boiling over, my fists clenching at my sides.

"Stay out of my way, Marius, Leave before I do something we'll both regret."

Marius sneered.

"Oh, I'll leave but mark my words, next time we meet, it will be a battle of epic proportions and you won't be able to escape my wrath."

With that, he vanished into the shadows, leaving us on edge and wondering when he would strike again.

My anger boiled inside me as I watched Marius slip away like a coward.

I knew this was far from over.

Suddenly, a deafening roar echoed through the forest, causing the trees to tremble.

A swamp of vampires charged towards us, their eyes glowing with malice.

I gritted my teeth and prepared for the worst.

The battle raged on, each side refusing to back down. But just as we gained the upper hand, Jared the chief warrior of Vapian appeared in the front, his eyes blazing with fury.

"You think you can defeat me?"

he snarled.

"I am more powerful than you could ever imagine."

I lunged at him, my sword poised to strike.

But he was too quick, dodging my attack with ease.

The tension was palpable as we circled each other, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

I could feel my heart racing, my palms slick with sweat.

And then, in a flash of lightning, we clashed once more as the sound of steel against steel echoed through the forest as we fought with all our might.

But as the moon rose higher in the sky, I knew that this battle was far from over.

Blood spilled onto the ground, staining it crimson as the lifeless bodies of the vampires lay motionless.

Taylor had been in pursuit, and as he caught up to his prey, he brought him to a sudden halt.

"This is just the beginning,"

Jared said, fear creeping into his laughter.

Taylor smirked,

"And the Crystal will continue to be victorious over Vapian."

Jared's laughter turned to rage as he launched a fierce attack, but Taylor was ready, swiftly dodging and slicing his sword through Jared's leg.

Filled with fury, Taylor attacked again, plunging his sword into Jared's hand. Suddenly, Jared's demeanor changed, his eyes turning yellow as he charged towards Taylor.

The sound of clashing swords echoed through the air for fifteen minutes as the battle raged on.

I watched, growing annoyed with the chaos. I dove into the fray, piercing Jared's stomach with my sword but as I prepared to twist it, Taylor shouted for me to stop, use Jared as a message to Remus.

I relented, commanding the other warriors to clean up the mess.

Taylor and I made our way back to the palace, our hearts heavy with anticipation.

We knew that Remus would not rest until he had his revenge on us and the Crystal was not a temperate area, and the next time he tried such nonsense, he would regret it.

**DELON KINGDOM**

MARIUS

My heart pounded in my chest as I paced back and forth, my mind consumed with thoughts of Dolphus and his growing power.

"Was he planning to take over the supernatural world?"

My instincts questioned me.

The mere thought sent shivers down my spine and I couldn't believe in the prophecy of a weak ruler but what if it was true?

Just as I was lost in my thoughts, a guard burst into the room, interrupting my musings.

My heart raced as I waited for him to speak.

"My king, My king,"

he panted,

"the mermaid Queen and King Derek are here to see you."

My eyes widened in surprise at what could they want at this hour of the night and why were they here unannounced?

I frowned at the interruption, my mind already working on a plan.

"Didn't I warn you against entering the palace unannounced?"

I snapped, my voice filled with anger.

"You're going to the cell for two days."

As the guard left, I couldn't help but wonder what the visitors wanted.

"Were they here to form an alliance?

Or were they here to take me down? "

My heart raced as I thought of the possibilities.

But as I prepared to meet them,

I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off because they refused to come inside, and kept their eyes darting around nervously.

My senses were on high alert as I tried to read their expressions.

"Like what brought you weaklings to my kingdom?"

I mocked, my voice dripping with contempt but deep down, I knew that this was just the beginning of a long and dangerous journey and I was ready for whatever lay ahead.

"like what did you weaklings want from me?"

I demanded, my heart pounding in my chest.

Derek and Queen Chiara stopped in their tracks and slowly turned back to face me.

"You may think you have all the power, but there are forces at play that even you cannot control,"

Derek said cryptically, his eyes gleaming with a dangerous glint.

My mind raced with questions, but before I could utter a word, Queen Chiara stepped forward, her voice low and menacing.

"You may have the strength of a thousand men, but you are no match for what lies ahead,"

she whispered, her words sending shivers down my spine.

I felt a surge of fear grip me as they turned and walked away, leaving me standing alone in the darkness.

What did they mean?

What was coming?

I had to find out before it was too late.
