chapter 1 : Rhodes the tyrant

year 1405

In a world where four major continents have been battling each other since ancient times

On one of these continents known as the tulip, this continent is distinguished by its large area that surpasses the rest of the other continents, and this is one of the reasons that push the rest of the continents to wage wars on it for the purpose of taking a piece of its vast lands.

The state of Samerhot, which is located in the south of the continent of Tulip, is ruled by a family known as Sira. Although it is a medium-sized state, its history can be compared with those of major states, and it is not part of the so-called alliance of states. In other words, it is not under the control of the Supreme Council!

Even within the continent itself, there is no escape from war, as some countries are still in a civil war. This was 300 years ago when an organization called the Supreme Council emerged and united the countries within the Tulip Continent for the purpose of preventing civil wars and focusing on the external enemy, but with the passage of time, the leadership within this organization began to become corrupt. For this reason, about 100 years ago, several countries emerged from the so-called alliance of countries, and Samerhot was one of these countries.

In the middle of the street, the captain of the Rhodes Pirates looked at five people kneeling on the ground while surrounded by many pirates. Among the five, there was a middle-aged man covered in blood all over his body. His right side was embracing a beautiful woman, two unconscious twin girls. Looking at her husband beside her, anxious and terrified,

Captain Rhodes turned and said to one of his subordinates

"Haise, are you sure everyone from the Sera family is here?!"

Hayes opened his mouth and said nervously, "No, not everyone! . . . Captain, according to what the Supreme Council said, this royal family consists of 6 members."

He paused for a moment and pointed at the people kneeling and continued,

"But we searched every corner of the palace and only found those!" 

"That idiot Supreme Council, they can’t even get correct intelligence!" Rhodes said in an angry tone!

Rhodes stopped talking and looked at a young man about 15 years old who was trying to stand up, and said

"Do you have anything to say, kid?"

A pirate was about to advance and thwart him, but Rhodes raised a hand and signaled for him to stop! 

With that, the man covered in blood tried to stop the young man from standing. The young man ignored him, got up and walked forward towards Rhodes, his expression full of anger, fear, and even despair, and he said, in a skeptical voice,

 "Are you Rhodes, captain of the Rhodes Pirates?"

"Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Look, the captain is famous! Even this kid knows who he is!"

"Ha-ha-ha-ha! What do you expect, you idiot, after all, the captain’s fleet is about 600 ships!"

The pirates beside Rhodes laughed and began to praise him

Rhodes' gaze swept over them, everyone stopped laughing and subconsciously swallowed their saliva! Rhodes turned his gaze and began to stare at the young man intently and said,

"  Oh ! You seem to be well informed! . . . yes, I am Rhodes. . . . What's your name, kid?!"

After hearing Rhodes' response, the young man mustered all his courage and said,

"My name is Bryan Serra! . . ., Mr. Rhodes, I heard from your subordinate that the Supreme Council provided my family’s intelligence?! . . . The Council could not do such a thing!... Are you not afraid that the Supreme Council will hear that you discredit them! ?"

"..."

After hearing Bryan's words, Rhodes was surprised for a while, turned to his side, and shouted angrily at the so-called Haiss, who revealed this information!

A smile formed on Briyan's face when he saw that Rhodes had turned, and slowly took a small knife out of his pocket, but what he didn't notice was that Rhodes' anger was fake!

"Haiss! You idiot...didn't I warn you the last time, that if you do something like this next time, I'll kill you!"

Haiss was stunned for a moment.

"Ha-ha-ha-ha, fun! The captain's playing with the boy, so in that case, I've got to play the role well," Haiss said to himself when he saw Rhodes' acting.

He faked his expression to fear and said,

"What!? Why do I have to die, please chief give me another chance."

Rhodes stared at Hayes and said to himself,

"Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha, that idiot, I totally trust the role."

While trying to suppress his laughter, he said, "Do you want to disobey me..."

Still, he couldn't help himself and started laughing and quickly turned around and kicked Bryan who was trying to stab him with a knife,

Bryan didn't expect Rhodes' attack and suddenly kicked him in the chest, rolling several times! 

When he opened his eyes, he found that a pirate was about to stomp on his head! 

Immediately, he rolled to the side and very quickly threw another knife

The pirate who put his hand on his throat in disbelief tried to stop the wound on his throat!

Under this moment of silence, Bryan slowly stood up from the ground and his eyes swept everyone, his eyes met his father for a moment, the man immediately understood the meaning of Bryan's eyes, but soon his face turned pale when he saw a pirate behind Brian pull out a gun from his waist and aimed at Bryan

"Beware...!"

Bang!

Bryan was thinking about how to create an opportunity to allow his family to escape, but all his plans were foiled when a bullet from behind penetrated his left leg!

"Uh...damn it hurts!..."

He fell to the ground and started screaming in pain, covering the wound on his leg with his trembling hand.

Rhodes slowly came to Bryan's place and grabbed his left hand by the black hair and started laughing

 "Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha, you cunning kid, were you trying to pick a fight between me and Haiss, and take the opportunity to kill me... Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-kid, admit you are really brave! … But you are too weak... and the weak shouldn’t be be arrogant..."

After saying this, Rhodes' eyes were indifferent as his five fingers of his right hand were folded and clenched and punched in the direction of Brian's face.

A sound similar to shattering bones!

Bryan, who was overwhelmed by his thoughts, was struck by the unexpected punch of Rhodes, however. . . Rhodes did not stop

He ignored the wailing of Brian's family and started hitting his face wildly

after he punches him

About ten times, he stopped, took a handkerchief from his pocket, and started wiping the blood from his hand

"But to kill one of my subordinates in front of me..."

He stopped talking and looked surprised at Bryan who was groaning in pain, complete with sarcasm.

"Huh! I'm surprised you're still conscious... but that's all."

Bryan grabbed Rhodes's right leg and raised his disfigured face which was covered in blood, sweat, and dirt. His right eye was swollen! Bleeding from his nose, he could hardly resist the urge to cry, he said inwardly, angrily,

 "Damn it hurts... the fool toyed with me!... he figured out my plan from the start..."

"But even if it means dying here! I have to create an opportunity for them to escape... Relying on the arrival of our Supreme Council is to wait for death itself... Even the kingdom’s army is unreliable! . . . So what can I do? I do  . . . "

 He turned to the side and looked at the miserable look of his father,  who was holding on to him by two pirates as he tried to dash and rescue Bryan, and turned to see the terrified expression of his mother,  who was cuddling the twins,s and tears streamed from her eyes, spitting blood mixed with the teeth he had broken when Rhodes punched him and He took a breath and said in a hoarse voice

"Hih ! . . . . . . . Rhodes, your goal is to take over this country. You can take it, just . . . . "

Rhodes interrupted him, "I know what you want, boy! . . . That's impossible . . . You're not in a position to negotiate with me! . . . . . . the wonderful things you have, though I would love to recruit smart people like you to my ship . . . . "

After Rhodes paused for a moment, he opened his mouth again and said in a firm tone of voice

 "But I must remove any possible future threat! . . .

  I wasted a lot of time with you, boy. "

After he said that, he kicked Brian and yelled

"Start the execution"
