Ch.3 - Shu Family

Cultivation was divided into seven realms, starting from Early, Intermediate, Advanced, Saint, King, Emperor, and finally God.

Reaching the Early realm was extremely easy, as all one needed to do was absorb external energy and store it inside their Dantian. Regardless of how much energy they possessed, as long as they were capable of doing this, they would officially reach the Early realm.

Xu Chen had now reached the Early realm with very little effort, but he had only just begun. The amount of energy he possessed was extremely small, barely enough to strengthen his physical body.

Even then, he could only enhance his body by less than ten percent, and the effect would probably last for no more than ten seconds.

“Natural energy generally contains more life attributes, so if I cultivate this way, I'll only be able to obtain around thirty percent of its benefits because I need to refine the natural energy into dark energy.”

Shu Xiang smiled at the thought.

Shu Xiang walked over and opened the door, allowing sunlight to pour into his room.

He could see pure white clouds, a brilliantly blue sky, and the bright sun shining just like it had on Earth.

Shu Xiang inhaled the fresh air deeply.

It was the air of freedom—a feeling he hadn't experienced in many years.

“This is the best thing about it. Freedom!”

Shu Xiang stepped outside, feeling the sunlight against his skin.

Shu Xiang decided to walk around for a while and take a look at the Shu Family's residence.

When Shu Xiang left his residence, he saw several servants and guards on duty.

They looked at him as if he were some lowly creature.

But Shu Xiang didn't care in the slightest.

He simply focused on what he was doing.

A voice suddenly reached Shu Xiang's ears.

His body seemed to react automatically to that voice. He stopped walking and immediately turned around.

Standing before him were a young man around twenty-two years old and a young woman around eighteen.

They were both Shu Xiang's siblings.

Shu Ming, the eldest son, and Shu Lin, the second daughter.

Shu Xiang himself was the third son, making him the younger brother of both of them, although they had different mothers.

Shu Xiang's mother came from a fairly renowned merchant family.

Unfortunately, her family's business went bankrupt. Several years ago, she and Shu Xiang's grandfather were robbed while traveling, and both of them ended up being killed.

With no maternal family left to support him, Shu Xiang's position within the family became even lower.

That was also why his siblings became even more ruthless in bullying him.

Based on Shu Xiang's memories, he could guess that all those misfortunes had happened because of Shu Ming and Shu Lin's mother.

Although he had no evidence.

Well, he didn't particularly care either.

‘Ah, I thought I was completely free now. I thought I had full control over this body, but apparently, I don't.’

Shu Xiang smiled faintly.

He felt an intense rage when he looked at these two.

He had the urge to tear them apart and devour them alive.

He had only just met them, so this anger must have come from the original Shu Xiang—from the body he now occupied.

‘Hm, resentment.’
