Chapter 8 : New Name

In fact, he didn't know anything about the letter and now the woman suddenly said she already had the only very concrete evidence without her knowledge.

"Before, forgive me, Captain Lars. Yesterday I reported if this kid came and went without bringing anything. But somehow I found this letter in front of my bathroom and it turned out that the child was the owner. This could be the only one or one of the evidence if there is nothing more for the young man to say."

Once again, Captain Lars made sure the letter was not anything fake or suspicious or that he would be punished by a noble family. "Well, it seems that we don't need to dig into the background of this kid at the trial. Everything we should know is already recorded in it."

"Jeez. It turns out that young man are nervous about describing himselves, huh? Hahaha, poor young man." In the end, they breathed a sigh of relief while putting away their weapons. It will be especially precarious when chaos continues to occur as external problems keep coming from outside the city. Although they were worried about Winkler's ability for a while, it became clear that the identity of the young man was not scary at all.

"Okay, because there is no disaster as we guessed, I officially disbanded this meeting. You all can leave the room and go back to run errands."

"Alright, Captain," they replied in unison, leaving the seats in turn and acting quickly without wasting time.

"Huft. I think this tense meeting is over... Hmm? Why are you suddenly standing in front of me, Lieutenant Clarissa?" Winkler wondered.

"The meeting was disbanded because you proved not to be a danger to this city, young man. But you don't forget your stunts with a half-naked body."

Winkler was instantly wide-eyed. "What? So you guys separate those two issues?"

"Why not? Now, sit back or I force you in a violent way," Lieutenant Winkler's gaze was very sharp, successfully freezing Winkler's mouth.

"Ready or not, I will start this trial. Let's just say it's just an additional trial to solve the problem you're making. Now, we have a quote for you, young man. First, you'll be locked up for three weeks in a juvenile prison and in the same room with them. Second, you will be our slave and obliged to carry out whatever we command, such as: mopping the floor, cleaning the bathroom, and even warning captives who like to make noise."

"What? Do you mean that the weak me should scold the captives who have dozens of crimes? It was accidentally like you killed me without touching me. How about the third bid, you can get me off here and won't return to this city forever."

"You have never felt the harshness of life, huh? You've been lucky not to have been sentenced to death after it was proven not to harm us, young man. I've considered punishment for you and that's the only low punishment you get. Instead, there's a chance you're exiled in the woods for a week which is the habitat of wild animals that like to prey on humans."

"What the... The laws in this world are cruel enough to face trivial matters. Well, last offer. I will take the second option provided I am not involved by the captives. How about it?"

"You chose to be a slave and execute all the commands, even though I told you to backflip as many as 100 repetitions?" Captain Lars got up from his seat, a little interested.

"Of course. I believe I can do it." Winkler believed in his abilities and physique. In the previous world, he was highly trained and diligent in exercising, including physical exercise and endurance.

"What's your opinion, Lieutenant Clarissa? Don't you mind?"

"Whatever your decision is, Captain." She replied briefly.

"Since the decision has been agreed by two parties, then the punishment we have given will come into effect this morning until the appointed time."

"It's still not complete. Until when will I be your slave?"

"Until we don't need you anymore, young man."

"Huh? It's cheating! Hurry up and set a time limit needed or I will announce to the public if this institution really violates its own rules!"

As Winkler cheered on his due, Captain Lars left the courtroom yawning over finishing a very boring meeting. Now only he and Lieutenant Clarissa were in there and staring at each other.

The woman also wouldn't mind her threats because their reputation was highly trusted by the townspeople and hardly made any minor mistakes. "How long does your face look pitiful, Sanoe?"

"Sanoe?" Winkler pointed to himself.

"Since we met, you never mentioned your name and in that license, I was forced to give you that name because there was no other option."

"What? So you made that license? But why are you helping me so far?" Winkler urged him and hoped to get an answer that touched his heart very much.

"I have already answered your question. Even though you were suddenly in my bathroom, looking at the way you talk I can be sure you don't lie. Forget about moving to another world, nor do we answer your curiosity and I don't believe in such incidents at all. So forget it and let's just say that last night's events weren't something to argue about even though you made me almost kill you for showing your 'sword' and looking at my body!" Lieutenant Clarissa raised her voice slightly at the end of the word.

"That's what's called an accident. We can't predict what will happen in the future." Winkler was pretentiously wise in the face of women older than him. "Then, how did you forge the letter?"

"You don't need to know. I did help you but I still suspect you who came to this city without bringing any evidence. Just in case, as a Lieutenant, I have the right to shut my mouth for secret deeds."

"I could have reported you to Captain Lars for your deeds."

"Then I can kill you before you leave this room!" Lieutenant Clarissa put a knife in her mouth when Winkler was caught off guard.

"Fine, fine, Just kidding!" He screamed like a frightened woman.

"Don't dare to take advantage of this mistake of mine, Sanoe." The Lieutenant inserted the knife gracefully, thrilling Winkler's heart for an instant.

"But... Sanoe..."

"Why? Don't you like my given name? Or do you want to change your name when Captain Lars has seen the permit that says your new name and there is a possibility that the next meeting will be held?"

"No, no! I'm really proud of the name." Winkler did not dare to refute and from now on he will instil the name in his memory during his stay in this world.
