They all opened their mouths in agape with the slap that landed on Carl's cheek.

Not only that, the boy's father didn't let him be. He pulled his shirt and started dragging him with it

"Ronald is my only son. I've been spending on him to stay alive till this moment. My wife and I have gone through a lot because of him. I'll tear you apart with my bare hands if anything should happen to my son" he roared, Making Vivian and Carl scared.

"Haven't I trespassed my boundary? I should have waited to do what Vivian suggested we do. This wouldn't have happened if I had listened to her" he thought and started blaming himself.

From the man's voice, agony could be felt from the way he was communicating. Carl was once a father, so he understood how he was feeling at that moment.

The doctor in charge of Ronald's health came out of the ICU.

They all rushed to meet him, including Vivian, whose heartbeat was already accelerating, hoping Carl would not put her into trouble.

"You said Ronald was given some herbal juice right?" He asked.

"Yes! This bastard gave him the juice. How is my son? Has his condition worsened? Let me call the cops to take this nuisance away first, before I'll kill him myself" Ronald's father impatiently said, Bringing out his cellphone to make a call but the doctor stopped him.

"You don't need to call the cops, neither do you need to kill him. You are supposed to be thanking this young man for saving your son's life" the doctor uttered, reducing the tension of the place.

"What? What do you mean by that?" Ronald's father, not wanting to believe his ears, asked.

"The last time you bought Ronald for a check up. I told you that his condition has gone from bad to worse and he should avoid taking any sugary things, pending the time that his blood pressure will regulate. Not only did he abandon taking his drugs but he also took chocolate. The first aid that was given to help resurrect back to life and he vomited all the chocolate that he ate. Currently, his blood pressure has stable and if he could get the juice twice more, his health will back to normal and he will be free from epilepsy forever " the doctor dropped the bombshell

The place was so noisy that even a drop of pin could be noticed.

"We would have lost him if not for this savior. Appreciate him instead and form a good relationship with him" the doctor added then he left.

Carl took a deep breath, likewise Vivian.

Slowly, Carl left the ICU while Ronald's father and his driver were sleepless.

"Here" Vivian stretched a cup of coffee to Carl, who was sitting under one of the trees in front of the hospital.

"How do you feel?" She further questioned.

"Seriously, I can't say. Initially, I felt scared and currently, I think I feel happy. Hearing that I am the messiah that saved the boy gladen my heart but on a second thought, what if things got out of way, what would have been my fate?" He was curious and confused.

"Fortunately, things went well and I couldn't help but to be proud of you. I realized one thing from what happened there, you need to trust your instincts and do what you feel it's right henceforth, that's the only way to save the world like your granny desired. Moreso, I apologize for calling you a monster last night, I'm glad to have listened to Angel and held you back" she smiled as she made the apology.

"It's okay, I understand," Carl responded.

"I'll be done with my shift soon. Wait and let's go to the herbal garden together. You have lots of work to do in saving lives" she added , then hurriedly went back to the hospital, while Carl waited for her outside.

After one hour, she came outside with her car and honked to call Carl's attention. It was obvious that she was financially okay.

"We are going to pick up Angel after the herbal shopping. She would have been done by then" she uttered, as Carl was fastening the seat belt.

"Vivian, are you okay with me staying with you for a while? I've lots of plans in my head right now but I can't rush them. I don't want to cause problems between you and your husband when he comes back home but I don't know what to do" he requested, since he no longer has a dime on him, talkless of a house of his own.

"I have no husband, so you get nothing to worry about. I only have Angel as my only family. By the way, your presence will also be useful to me as my patients will be having a cure to their ailments. So, we are good" She accepted without giving it another thought.

Carl appreciated her , then they started that journey to the herbal garden.

After the shopping, which Vivian paid for, they went to pick up Angel in creche and went home.

When they reached home, they were amazed to see two cars waiting outside for them.

"Is everything alright?" Vivian mumbled as she drove inside. They also stepped down and were stunned to see Ronald's father. Beside him was a woman, who was assumed to be his wife.

They went to approach Carl as they sighted him.

"What happened? Why are you here?" Carl questioned

"My husband told me what happened between you guys today. I was very excited to hear the changes in my son's health. You may not know but we have been spending a huge amount of money since he turned five and currently, he is fourteen years old. We are here to apologize and to also appreciate your kind gesture. Also, to request for your help in finishing your treatment on him according to his Doctor's suggestion " the woman pleaded with tears rolling on her cheeks.

Ronald's father also walked forward and grabbed Carl's hands.

"I am thankful for saving my son's life earlier, though I behaved like a stupid father but trust me, I'm only concerned about his welfare. Ronald is already home, resting but we still need you to complete the treatment for him, so that the affliction will not rise again. Will you do that for us?" He also begged, in a very calm tone.

Carl couldn't describe what he was feeling at the moment. He was only able to smile in return.

"That's not a big deal. Since you have managed to locate him to my house, then consider your problem to be solved. He will treat Ronald but not for free because ingredients are so expensive" Vivian interrupted before Carl could give response to their request.

Carl was shocked and glared at her. Their four eyes met together but Vivian winked at him instead.

Though Vivian paid for the herbal ingredients but they weren't that expensive as she claimed.

"Money? Money is the smallest thing. Everyone knows that I'm a millionaire, so I'll pay whatever amount he wants to collect. By the way, How much are we talking about?" Ronald's father gave in

"I'll prepare herbal tea for him to drink for two weeks. After that, you can take him to the hospital for check up, I can assure you that he will be healed completely" Carl voiced out

"And you need to pay five thousand dollars for the treatment," Vivian added.

"Just five thousand dollars? Don't worry, I'll give you a hundred thousand dollars and if after the checkup, he is fully treated like you said,I'll add another hundred thousand dollars to it. By the way, this small car is a token of appreciation from my family to you, for saving his life earlier " Ronald's father said, dropping a huge bombshell as he brought out the car keys to give Carl.

"W-wh-what!" Carl exclaimed, he was dumbfounded.

Then realization struck him. Andrew. The card belonged to Andrew. Or perhaps Benjamin. He had no idea how these wealthy people's bank cards worked.Maybe it required a password, maybe it needed activation, maybe there were restrictions. Whatever the reason...He had no clue. Unfortunately...Andrew wasn't here. Earlier, he himself had insisted Andrew and the hidden bodyguards keep their distance. Now he couldn't even ask what was wrong. He sighed inwardly. Talk about bad timing. The saleswoman remained extremely polite. "Sir, would you like to try another payment method?"Carl smiled bitterly. "I only have this card." He didn't bring his bank card with him, afterall he'd been abducted in broad day light the other day. "I understand." Despite the failed transaction, she showed no trace of impatience. She simply stood there quietly. Completely different from the previous salesman. He appreciated that. At least she treated customers with respect. Outside the store, however, the first sa

The sales assistant frowned and looked Carl up and down."You were actually planning to buy something?" he asked seriously. Then he muttered under his breath,"I doubt you've ever even stepped into a luxury store before, let alone bought anything from one. Hmph... all talk."Of course, he kept his voice low enough that most people wouldn't hear him.Although he didn't think Carl was worth his time, he didn't dare make it too obvious. If he openly treated a customer badly and someone reported him, he could lose his job.Even so, Carl could easily tell what the man was thinking."Of course I came here to buy something," Carl replied calmly. "If not, why would I be here? But congratulations, you've successfully driven away a customer."The sales assistant forced out a dry laugh and waved his hands awkwardly."Ah, why would I chase away a customer? You must have misunderstood me."He quickly put on an apologetic smile."If I've done anything to offend you, then I sincerely apologize." Whi

Carl entered the luxury vehicle whose door had been respectfully opened for him.The moment he settled into the comfortable leather seat, the door closed softly behind him. A few seconds later, the convoy began moving. He glanced out the window, then he glanced again. The more he looked, the more weird he felt. In front of his vehicle were several luxury cars, and also behind his vehicle were even more luxury cars.Every of the car moved in perfect formation. The entire convoy occupied a significant portion of the road.He couldn't help feeling slightly embarrassed. It should be that he was more amused. "I look like some important government official."Andrew sat opposite him, and remained silent even after hearing him. He chuckled. "No, seriously."Still silence."Or maybe a president."Andrew continued to say nothing. Carl rubbed his chin with a sigh. Talking to Andrew was truly exhausting. Fortunately, he had expected this and had long grown accustomed to it. Since the estate w

Since his dignity had already been thrown to the ground, he decided to go with the flow. Besides, these men worked for Benjamin. It wasn't like he would keep seeing them after he left this place.Thinking about it, the last time he had gone shopping was months ago. Back when Vivian was still around. Since then, his life had become increasingly busy and stressful, except for the one week break he gave himself. One thing after another kept happening. Treating patients, studying medicine, designing his medicine room, and meeting Louis.Everything had happened so fast that he barely had time to think. Shopping had never even crossed his mind. Now that he thought about it, he really had been wearing the same few outfits over and over again. He felt slightly embarrassed.Only slightly, there was no way he was admitting that out loud."Still not going," he said firmly.Andrew wasn't surprised at all. In fact, he looked like he had expected that answer. "Mr. Benjamin insists."He rolled his e

He gave up. There was simply no point. Benjamin would return this weekend anyway. Even if Carl somehow escaped the estate, Andrew would probably track him down before he reached the front gate. The thought was depressing, and his mood got ruined instantly. With Andrew's words, he no longer has any interest in strolling anymore. He turned around heading back for his room "I'm leaving."Andrew immediately replied. "I know."Carl stopped. "...Back to my room.""I know."Carl clenched his fists. This man was definitely doing it on purpose. He had to be. Nobody could naturally be this irritating. Gia quickly stepped forward before the situation escalated further. "Young Master Carl, shall we return?"He glanced at the smiling maid. Compared to Andrew, Gia suddenly seemed like an angel."Let's go."The two began walking away. Behind them, Andrew remained standing, while watching them leave silently, until he could no longer sight them. Meanwhile, Carl didn't bother looking back. His mood

The maid looked ahead, and he followed her gaze. His expression immediately changed.A familiar figure was standing near a stone pavilion. Tall and well dressed with his usual calm demeanor. It was Andrew. Carl blinked twice. For a moment, he almost thought he was imagining things. After all, Andrew had been missing since yesterday.Andrew noticed them almost immediately. Their eyes met across the garden, and a smile appeared on his face. Not the formal smile he usually wore. This one looked genuine. He couldn't help but wonder if it was because he'd been brought here?"Young Master Carl." Andrew walked over, his hands tuck in his pocket. Carl rolled his eyes. "There it is again."Andrew chuckled. "What?""The title."Andrew's smile widened. "I'm afraid everyone has already accepted it."Carl groaned. This estate was hopeless. Still… as he walked toward Andrew, he couldn't deny something. Seeing the man unexpectedly made him feel relieved. At least now, there was finally someone aro
