The rain was falling and the weather was freezing. Carl was still outside the house, not knowing or having a place to go. He had no idea of his current location, talkless of knowing anywhere within the vicinity. The door opened and Vivian came outside.
She felt sympathy for him as she was looking at him through the camera. "Wanna come inside?" She asked. "It's okay. I'll leave once the rain stop" Carl answered nonchalantly. "Are you sure? You look like you have nowhere to go and moreso, I can't deny Angel's request that you should come inside, at least till the rain stops. So, swallow your pride and come in" Vivian opened the door widely for him He stood up and followed her inside. "Here" she gave him a cup of hot coffee that suited the weather. "Angel said you might not be dangerous and I also checked the G****e for some information about monsters, though they are a bit scary but I'll hope that you don't harm us" she added, trying all her possible best not to endanger her life. "I told earlier that I'm not a monster. I'm a human being like you but things got complicated. I don't know how to make you believe me but right now, I'm also confused and not in the right state of mind. I also need to think straight and find a way out. It's fine to think of me as a monster or something but I'll leave your house immediately the rain stop, chill okay?" He raised his voice on her for the first time. He was also losing it. "I'm sorry for calling you a monster but what happened scared me. But can you tell me what happened? Who knows, I might reason with you and find a way to be of help. You look lost and kinda homeless" she requested, glaring at him in response. "Okay, I'll tell you what happened. Just listen attentively and believe me. I just hope that you will understand " he finally bowed to the pressure of explaining himself. "I am all ears," Vivian answered, adjusting her seat. Angel has already gone to bed. *** "Are you for real?" She asked after listening to his story. "Hun" Carl nodded his head. "I heard about the notorious criminal, Alan getting arrested but none of us know the story behind it. Your best friend is very wicked, likewise your wife" she said again, still amazed at his story. "Yeah, I know," Carl replied. "I guess you should listen to your granny. I know the value of human's life as a doctor and if you have any power that will cure sickness, I can assure you of my support. Try to recall the recipe your grandfather used to cure different ailments and study more on it. you can modernize yours and we will take it to the lab for testing. If it pass the lab test, I see no reason for you not to use it" she uttered calmly. Her words sound like encouragement to him. He grinned and thanked him "Helen, what's her sickness? I can see how much Angel value their friendship" he added, asking her "Leukemia and we have been treating her for a while but the cells are not responding to the treatment. You can make use of the room where you were treated. Goodnight and sleep well" Vivian responded well before vacating her room.. Carl also stood up and went to the visitor's room, where he initially woke up. Amazingly, he found two pieces of pie and a bottle of juice there, indicating that Vivian Kept them for him as dinner. His tummy grumbled immediately he set his eyes on the snacks. That was when he called that he hadn't eaten anything since he woke up. He hurriedly munched on the snacks and gulped it down with the drink. After that, he laid on the bed, which had been arranged. He started rubbing the necklace again, asking himself why the necklace was just getting useful now, since all the years it has been on his neck. "When you got shot at your heart region, your blood splashed on the necklace, activating the spiritual power in it" his granny explained inside his head like she was reading his mind. He wasn't surprised like the first time again. "Will you always be there to answer my questions?" He inquired. "No, I have just seven days to spend with you. After you recall your grandfather's herbal recipe, I'll leave" she answered. Still thinking about the second changes in his life, he slept off. First change was when he was ripped off his position through false allegations from Richard. ★★★ The following morning,he woke up to see some new sets of clothes beside him and there was a letter on it. It was a handwritten letter from Vivian. "I'm off to work and Angel has gone to creche. Eat your food that is on the dining table and start thinking about the herbs. I'll be back to take you out to get the ingredients. Take care" He head the letter and went inside to take his bath and have his dinner After two hours, he started feeling bored and decided to step out of the house. As he was passing, he noticed some flowers that were neatly planted in front of a big house. They looked fresh and attractive. He stood in front of the house, admiring the flowers and trying to recall the name and function of each of them when he saw a teenager boy, who was about to enter the car, falling down and starting shaking. "Help! Help!" His driver kept shouting as he was dialing the hospital emergency number. Carl tried to pretend not to see what was going on but his mind wouldn't be at rest He had to rush to the scene and saw the boy, bringing out foam from his mouth. "This is epilepsy," he said to himself. He rushed back to the flowers and plucked two different flowers. He rubbed them against his palm till the flowers started bringing out some drop of juice. He moved closer to the boy and dropped the juice into his mouth. "What are you doing?" The driver asked. "Are you blind? I'm trying to provide first aid, pending the time the ambulance will get here" he answered, not minding his presence and only focused on the boy. The driver was about to talk when the ambulance arrived. The boy had stopped shaking and he was taken away by the ambulance. "I'll not forgive you if something happens to him. No matter where you hide, I'll find you and skin you alive " the driver sternly threatened him "I don't need to run away. Let me follow you to the hospital to see the situation with my own two eyes. You can call the cops on me if things go out of hand" he volunteered to follow them He didn't know where the courage came from. Together with the driver, they followed the ambulance to the hospital. The boy was attended to, without any delay. Both Carl and the driver are waiting patiently outside the ICU. The driver messaged the parents to tell them the situation. Vivian, who was on her way to check on some of her patients, sighted Carl and her eyes widened. She went to him and asked "what are you doing here?" in the form of whispering. "I followed someone here after treating him. I want to know what the doctor will say about the treatment that I gave him " he gave her response. "What! How could you do that! Didn't we agree to run some lab checks on whatever herbal mixture you produce? What if this lands you into trouble, who is going to be held responsible for it?" Vivian bombarded him with questions. "Hey! Chill, nothing is confirmed yet. I just couldn't allow him to die, knowing waiting for the ambulance might take a long time " He said to defend himself. "Who is that fool that gave my son some stupid herbal juice, causing him to start vomiting in the ICU?" A middle aged man, who is the boy's father roared as he entered the place. "W-wh-what? Vomiting?" Vivian exclaimed. The driver pointed at Carl and before he could say anything, a slap landed on Carl's face, making them all stunned.Latest Chapter

Then realization struck him. Andrew. The card belonged to Andrew. Or perhaps Benjamin. He had no idea how these wealthy people's bank cards worked.Maybe it required a password, maybe it needed activation, maybe there were restrictions. Whatever the reason...He had no clue. Unfortunately...Andrew wasn't here. Earlier, he himself had insisted Andrew and the hidden bodyguards keep their distance. Now he couldn't even ask what was wrong. He sighed inwardly. Talk about bad timing. The saleswoman remained extremely polite. "Sir, would you like to try another payment method?"Carl smiled bitterly. "I only have this card." He didn't bring his bank card with him, afterall he'd been abducted in broad day light the other day. "I understand." Despite the failed transaction, she showed no trace of impatience. She simply stood there quietly. Completely different from the previous salesman. He appreciated that. At least she treated customers with respect. Outside the store, however, the first sa

The sales assistant frowned and looked Carl up and down."You were actually planning to buy something?" he asked seriously. Then he muttered under his breath,"I doubt you've ever even stepped into a luxury store before, let alone bought anything from one. Hmph... all talk."Of course, he kept his voice low enough that most people wouldn't hear him.Although he didn't think Carl was worth his time, he didn't dare make it too obvious. If he openly treated a customer badly and someone reported him, he could lose his job.Even so, Carl could easily tell what the man was thinking."Of course I came here to buy something," Carl replied calmly. "If not, why would I be here? But congratulations, you've successfully driven away a customer."The sales assistant forced out a dry laugh and waved his hands awkwardly."Ah, why would I chase away a customer? You must have misunderstood me."He quickly put on an apologetic smile."If I've done anything to offend you, then I sincerely apologize." Whi

Carl entered the luxury vehicle whose door had been respectfully opened for him.The moment he settled into the comfortable leather seat, the door closed softly behind him. A few seconds later, the convoy began moving. He glanced out the window, then he glanced again. The more he looked, the more weird he felt. In front of his vehicle were several luxury cars, and also behind his vehicle were even more luxury cars.Every of the car moved in perfect formation. The entire convoy occupied a significant portion of the road.He couldn't help feeling slightly embarrassed. It should be that he was more amused. "I look like some important government official."Andrew sat opposite him, and remained silent even after hearing him. He chuckled. "No, seriously."Still silence."Or maybe a president."Andrew continued to say nothing. Carl rubbed his chin with a sigh. Talking to Andrew was truly exhausting. Fortunately, he had expected this and had long grown accustomed to it. Since the estate w

Since his dignity had already been thrown to the ground, he decided to go with the flow. Besides, these men worked for Benjamin. It wasn't like he would keep seeing them after he left this place.Thinking about it, the last time he had gone shopping was months ago. Back when Vivian was still around. Since then, his life had become increasingly busy and stressful, except for the one week break he gave himself. One thing after another kept happening. Treating patients, studying medicine, designing his medicine room, and meeting Louis.Everything had happened so fast that he barely had time to think. Shopping had never even crossed his mind. Now that he thought about it, he really had been wearing the same few outfits over and over again. He felt slightly embarrassed.Only slightly, there was no way he was admitting that out loud."Still not going," he said firmly.Andrew wasn't surprised at all. In fact, he looked like he had expected that answer. "Mr. Benjamin insists."He rolled his e

He gave up. There was simply no point. Benjamin would return this weekend anyway. Even if Carl somehow escaped the estate, Andrew would probably track him down before he reached the front gate. The thought was depressing, and his mood got ruined instantly. With Andrew's words, he no longer has any interest in strolling anymore. He turned around heading back for his room "I'm leaving."Andrew immediately replied. "I know."Carl stopped. "...Back to my room.""I know."Carl clenched his fists. This man was definitely doing it on purpose. He had to be. Nobody could naturally be this irritating. Gia quickly stepped forward before the situation escalated further. "Young Master Carl, shall we return?"He glanced at the smiling maid. Compared to Andrew, Gia suddenly seemed like an angel."Let's go."The two began walking away. Behind them, Andrew remained standing, while watching them leave silently, until he could no longer sight them. Meanwhile, Carl didn't bother looking back. His mood

The maid looked ahead, and he followed her gaze. His expression immediately changed.A familiar figure was standing near a stone pavilion. Tall and well dressed with his usual calm demeanor. It was Andrew. Carl blinked twice. For a moment, he almost thought he was imagining things. After all, Andrew had been missing since yesterday.Andrew noticed them almost immediately. Their eyes met across the garden, and a smile appeared on his face. Not the formal smile he usually wore. This one looked genuine. He couldn't help but wonder if it was because he'd been brought here?"Young Master Carl." Andrew walked over, his hands tuck in his pocket. Carl rolled his eyes. "There it is again."Andrew chuckled. "What?""The title."Andrew's smile widened. "I'm afraid everyone has already accepted it."Carl groaned. This estate was hopeless. Still… as he walked toward Andrew, he couldn't deny something. Seeing the man unexpectedly made him feel relieved. At least now, there was finally someone aro
