Inside the luxurious Marcus Villa located in Wales City were couples adorned in amazing wedding couture. The Villa was decorated with fancy light and event accessories and notable celebrities in Wales city were to perform on that occasion.

DJ’s were playing highlife music and later changed to Christiana Perri's ‘A thousand years song’, whilst everyone danced to the sound of the music.

Tonight was the wedding ceremony between the third granddaughter of Marcus family and grandson of Grand's family.

“Kid sis, I am giving you three hundred thousand dollars as a gift at your wedding!”

“Sis, I am giving you a hundred thousand dollars as a wedding gift.”

“Darling, accept this handbag made of Diamond as my gift at your wedding. It is worth one hundred and fifty thousand dollars.”

“Son, accept this brand new 2023 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class for your wedding as my own gift.”

One of the special guests of honor spoke up and said, “because of this wedding between the Marcus and the Grand, I, on behalf of British Petroleum, will be partnering with Thompson petrochemical group to supply them with raw material for all their businesses from now on.”

Thompson petrochemical group was Marcus family business and which was why lady Marcus approved the marriage between Miss Lily and master Luca as that will attract elite men in London and Manchester to at least treat her family with a good face.

“I’m equally gifting our new couples with a million dollars.”

Lady Marcus was thrilled hearing the business partnership deal which the celebration brought to her family, she stood up and announced graciously.

“Good evening ladies and gentlemen of Wales district”, she greeted delightedly.

“Today is a memorable day for my family, and specifically for my beautiful granddaughter, Miss Lily Marcus.”

“This event is a celebration of love and I'm very elated to announce that I am gifting my beautiful granddaughter a brand new Audi RS7 sportback car as my wedding gift to her and as the head of Marcus family, I will grant any request made by her, and indeed any of the Marcus family members.”

“Once again, thank you all for honoring this special ceremony and invitation of mine.”

The hall was full of liveliness and goodwill wishes, gifts and expectations from the Marcus family members and well wishers.

Suddenly, Charles Walker, Lady Marcus Second grandson-in-law, spoke, “Grandma, since you didn't give us anything on our wedding night, could you lend me a million dollars, please? Mr Rambo, my brother from the welfare home, has been diagnosed with leukemia and I need money for his treatment. Also my electric scooter had just spoilt and I have no money to repair it, he added.”

The entire Marcus family and all the attendees gaped in extreme shock.

Everyone stared at Charles with bewilderment and surprise.

This live-in grandson-in-law was overly atrocious and bold! Not only did he not prepare a gift for his cousin-sister-in-law for her wedding ceremony but he actually had the audacity to ask lady Marcus for one million dollars!

Six years ago, Lord Marcus, who was alive and well, had come home with Charles one day and insisted on marrying him to their second granddaughter, Olivia Marcus, his favorite grandchild. Back then Charles was as poor and miserable as a beggar. He had no identity and no trace of any of his relatives.

Lord Marcus had only explained to the family members that Charles was his college friends' son, who had passed away. He had promised to help raise him up as they did agree to tighten their friendship through their children's marriage and while his friend was about to die, he was reminded to keep to their agreement.

Lord Marcus had passed away after they got married. Ever since then, he has become an object of ridicule before every member of Marcus' family. Everyone in the Marcus family tried to kick him out of the family. Even the maids and butler are higher than him in the house. His life has become a living hell for him since Lord Marcus died five years ago after he stepped foot in the family.

He was more of Marcus family's rag and mere errand boy than son-in-law in a practical sense. However, Charles was always indifferent and nonchalant like a statue despite their hall of insults, humiliation and ridiculous stuff they threw to him, and he spent his days in the Marcus family quietly as a live-in son-in-law.

He was at his wits' end that he had to borrow money from Lady Marcus today.

Mr Rambo who was more of a brother to him than friend when he was at the welfare home especially in saving him from dangers, had leukemia. He needed at least Nine hundred and eighty thousand dollars for surgery and treatment. He had no other ideas except for asking for Lady Marcus’ help.

Charles felt that since the family had just won business partnership with British Petroleum, London, and Lady Marcus had just announced that she would grant every request made by any of her family members as she was very elated for the business partnership contract, she might be delighted to show some mercy and provide her assistance.

However, Lady Marcus was still laughing gleefully when abruptly her lips curled downwards and her eyes furrowed indignantly. A frown made its way to her face when she looked at him.

She hurled the teacup in her hand to the floor and growled, “B*stard! Are you here to celebrate Lily's wedding or borrow money?!”

At this moment, someone stepped forward from his behind having had it enough, sneered in ulter disdain.

“Smack!”

A strong open hand had landed on Charles' face, questioning him simultaneously.

“What are you saying? You useless b*tch!” a strong male voice echoed immediately as everyone was still startled with disgust by Charles' request.

“Oh! You came here to ruin my sister's wedding today?” the voice added.

That was Jack Marcus, Lily's brother.

“What gave you the impetus to make such a request from Grandma on this special day? Or you just wanted to spoil our happy mood."

"You didn't even present any gift to sister Lily yet you have the nerve to request one million dollars from Grandma today, you useless b*stard that's living off our family."

"You disgust me fool," added Jack showing with his facial appearance how irritated he was by Charles presence and request.

He was still in rage and was continuously hitting his hand on his face.
