Conquest: Life in a VR

Titan Tower.

It's 2021, civilisation has reached it's peak, with business moving smoothly, one of the companies that excel the most was TT (Titan Tower).

A company set aside for the entertainment of the people, they concentrated on Games, overtime their quality became unrivalled, they made so many types of games and where presently planning their biggest project yet, in Japan where their head office was based, the very best of all geeks were stationed for the project, staffs from all over the world were called, the main company was stationed at kageuchi street, it was a massive skyscraper, with two bold letters at its peak "TT", a car could be seen at the front of the company, a man walked out of it and this man had people around him, like bodyguards, the man walked into the company and when he got to the receptionist she greeted him, "Good morning Mr. Kyoshi." The man replied the receptionist and asked her, "yes, Miss. Tamae, how are you, are the head editors all ready for the meeting." The lady answered, "Yes sir, all but the chief editor, Toda Hisaki, he called in and said he'd be late."

Just then a young man is seen entering the scene, "Good morning sir, chief editor— Toda Hisaki reporting in, I'm sorry i was late sir." A young man in his early twenties, light skinned with dark blue hair, and green pupils, he looked as though he just completed college, their boss and business tycoon Hate Kyoshi walked up to him and patted him on his head and said, "Well, you only just finished college a year ago and life in the real world is no joke, you're my brightest staff so there are exceptions for you, let's head for the conference." They walked to the elevator and selected the twentieth floor, finally they were on the floor and there were 10 people present each a head editor, but all where answerable to the chief editor, the president told them all to sit and then started talking.

"I have called each and every one of you here today to kick off our newest work, OWA (Open world adventures), now this project was scheduled for 2022 fall, but i change my mind, the mainframe and the blueprints are out already, i want all programmers and coder to put hand on deck because this game must be out by the end of this month." The staffs stood confused, Toda stood up for the rest of the group and spoke, "Sir, with all due respect, this is like nothing we have done, this is Virtual Reality, our company specialises on mobile and console games, virtual reality deals with nerve calibration, we should at least, take the time to make sure we don't make a mistake, a year would be enough to deal with it, give us a year, Sir!."

Kyoshi smiled looked to all the head editors and worded out, "Are my guests here yet? if yes then let them in." After he said this, three men walked in and from the looks of it, one was a doctor the other a scientist and the last was one of the best programmer in the world, Kyoshi then attempted to introduce them.

"From the left is, a renowned neurosurgeon from America, Oliver Keith, he has saved many a life and now for the period of one month will be working with us, next to him, Leo Starck is a robotics scientist from Germany, who has many idea's put in place for the nervous system, and finally the best programmer from Japan, Hirota Zenko, who as we know has bagged many awards for his talent, we also have a bomb from our side, Toda Hisaki, who graduated best in his programming class and best in the country also, so i wonder after all this armoury we've obtained how can someone say that one month isn't enough, Ladies and Gentlemen get to work. " After his words the staffs got together familiarised and brainstormed for ideas, an order was placed in the company that a set must always remain at work always so the staffs drew out a roaster to decide which group would stay back fir the one month, three weeks passed and the project was almost ready, the hardware was done and the neurosurgeon place a set of four nerve calibration point, which were the back of the head connecting with the neck, the elbow joint, the knee joint and the feet. These points were necessary for pads and gear which would be applied there, once one puts on the gear they feel a strange sensation which dulls all sensory organs and put only the brain in charge of everything in a way that just with a simple thought actions are carried out.

Another week passes and it was the final testing week, if the prototypes were successful a mass production would follow, four prototypes were made and four tester were to go for it the chief editor and the invited programmer with two other editor's, they all put on the headset and touched their calibration points they laid down and they became weak, a menu pops up, "TT." Under it was a space provided to place their name and password for first time user, they all played with one console, which means they were to play as a party, Toda puts in his name and password and then a message appears "Jumping in 10 secs." A countdown was set and once the countdown was out he felt himself materialising, it was as though it were real, he looked around and he could see the others, he was glad that the party aspect was successful, another message appeared, edit your character, select class, core and weapon, they all selected, Toda left his character appearance at default, he selected a knight class and then a sword and a shield, and then his core, a core would be assigned, he got a golden S rank core, the core was like a wristwatch stuck to their right hand, after the selections another message appears, "jump will commence immediately. " After the message all players started to glow and then suddenly another message appears, "Error, jump failure, select return to cancel operation." They all selected it, back at the office, the other two editor's returned but the invited programmer and Toda were confirmed dead from shock.
