Chapter eight

Almiron's powers had increased immensely throughout the course of the past few days. He had grown his hair long and silk. However the constant use of his powers also came with a price. It was slowly taking away his humanity.

The more he used his powers the more he felt some part of him disappear.

And this strange feeling was already getting to his head.

Pride started to flood his mind as He would often find himself talking to himself in the mirror. His powers were making him a narcissist. He had even given himself the title of ‘ lord almiron'. He would spend hours every day, sitting and admiring his own body, often referring to himself as close to a god given that the power of life and death are in his hands.

But the dark spirits he sees wanted more.

They wanted him to be consumed by the power he possessed.

They wanted him to lose touch of everything he ever cared for and it looked like they were succeeding.

He no longer cared about what he did.

He no longer cared who was there and who was not.

The only thing he cared about was his powers and his newfound identity.

This is exactly what the dark spirits wanted.

One of the most disturbing things he did his practice dummies, he advanced from killing birds to killing bigger animals like cats, dogs cows etc.

Everytime he killed one of these animals the dark spirits would whisper in his ears, they would say 'you can bring them back, just make sure they don't have any life force in them.'

At first, almiron would refuse but then he realized, why would he let the dead stay dead? Why should the animals suffer? They could all be alive again.

He had a new philosophy, 'don't mourn over the dead, because they are not gone forever, they are only sleeping and you can wake them up whenever you want'.

La coste restaurant was one of the most luxurious restaurants in the city and that was where daxon suggested him and maya go on their first date.

Even though daxon was financially capable of footing the bill there maya told him that she was going to take care of it.

Daxon was not happy about this as he was trying to make a good impression, but maya would not listen.

She wore a red gown and looked amazing. Daxon was wearing a tuxedo and was looking quite charming.

The night was going well.

The two had ordered a three-course meal which was served to them along with wine.

The meal consisted of soup, spaghetti, and a main course.

The two talked throughout the whole evening.

As the two talked the waiter served them their main course.

The waiter brought a large plate and placed it on the table.

He picked the cover and revealed the dish.

It was a big steak.

"Wow." Maya said with a laugh.

"Can we finish this?" She added

"It's okay, we don't have to finish it if you don't want to." Daxon replied.

"No I love steak." She said.

Maya picked up her knife and fork and was ready to start eating but then,

She saw something

On the steak.

A message

Written in blood

With a knife.

It read.

'Its your turn.'

Maya looked at the steak in shock.

"Are you okay?" Daxon asked

"Y-Yeah.." Maya replied.

"I'll just go to the bathroom for a second"

"Ok."

She came out of the toilet and walked up to the mirror to wash her hands.

"He's a nice guy, dont ruin this." She said to herself as she also let out a sigh.

She turned off the tap and left the restroom.

"Hope I didn't take too long." She said as she took he sit.

"No you didn't." He replied

"Shall we?" He asked

"Sure."

She took one more look at the steak and realised that the message written on it was gone.

'Must have been my imagination.' She thought.

"You were right. This is delicious." She said.

"Even though this is my first time here I still know a good steak when I see one." He replied

"I know right."

She continued to eat her steak while he stared at her.

"You look beautiful tonight." He said.

"Thank you."

"I really like your dress." He added.

"Thank you."

They Finished their meal and decided to stay and chat for a while before heading back to daxons apartment.

They talked and laughed for an hour or so.

"Shall we get going?" Daxon asked.

"Sure."

"I was thinking maybe we should head back to my place?” he suggested.

"I would love to go to your place."

"Great."

They got in her car and started driving as maya allowed him to drive.

The two sat in silence for a couple of minutes before daxon decided to turn on the radio.

Music started playing through the speakers.

The music was loud enough to fill the air and drown out the sound of the car engine.

Daxon tapped the steering wheel to the rhythm of the song while maya was looking outside.

Eventually they got to his place as he parked her car just in front of his apartment.

"Were here, let's go in." He said as they both came out of the car.

He brings out a bunch of keys from his pocket and he uses one of them to unlock his door.

They both head into his apartment, he walks towards the light switch and turns on all the light.

Maya looks around as she thought the place felt Cold and empty.

"Please have a sit." He said

"Thank you." She said

She sits down on the couch and he follows.

They sat down and talked for a while.

"What did you think about the steak?" He asked.

"It was amazing." She replied.

"That's great."

"Hey, I was wondering, do you want to watch a movie?"

"Sure ofcourse."

"What movie?"

"Have you watched fast X?" He asked

"Well I've watched almost all the fast and furious movies except this one so let's watch this." She says.

"Ok."

Daxon gets the tv remote and presses a button and the tv turns on.

He puts the movie and they both start watching.

After a few minutes the movie starts to get a little boring so daxon decides to try and have a little fun with maya.

he starts to rub her arm.

"Oh."

Maya was slightly startled at first but soon relaxed.

"Do you like that?" He asked

"Yes, that feels nice."

Daxon smiles and starts kissing her neck.

She moans a little bit.

Daxon's hand starts to go lower as he puts his hand under her dress.

"Hey, slow down."

"Don't worry, we have all the time in the world."

"I don't know about that."

"Oh, you do, don't worry."

Daxon's hand moves even lower until it is inside her underwear.

"Daxon."

"Let me make you feel good."

"Daxon!"

"What?"

"I can't, we can't."

"Why not?"

"Because it's too soon and then again were not even dating, I'm not ready."

Daxon let's out a scoff then looks at her and says.

"I wanted to have some fun before I killed you but guess that cant happen." He says

"Killed me?"
