GRAND LAW - The Key Role(2)

The mood began to lighten up. I was writhing in anticipation for the Easter eggs to be cracked and for the shells to be opened. I got myself together and calmed my mind.I asked, "What was it that lead to the emergence of Grand laws?!!"

The dark reigner began to explain,

"Earlier, I told you that we sent irregulars who took the authority of hunters while having their authority of observers in a temporary halt. Hunters who were sent to hunt down the escapee, failed in their mission. That was the first time we suffered casualties. The hunters were dead, and they weren't killed by any escapees but rather by the dwellers. So, we investigated the reason why dwellers killed the mutant asymmetrons who were our loyal pawns. Moreover, the mutant asymmetrons were aliased as outer gods who reigned supreme over the gods in the realm of living. It was far too fetched to be true. Later, we found out something out of the ordinary...

We uncovered the reason behind the concealment of the escapees. While we were searching and hunting down the escapees for ten thousand years, the escapees were fetching their beans to dwellers of the lower sub-realms. Those dwellers belonged to the underdeveloped worlds that come into existence not long ago at that time. By granting powers to those lesser beings, they received the alias as gods that doesn't fit them in those low level worlds. If we attacked those worlds, innocent people who were driven to this mess would have died. There were totally more than thirteen million worlds that were granted powers by those escapees in the lower sub-realms. It would be a huge blow to us if that many worlds were to be doomed. It would shake the power balance of the entirety of existence.

The smartest origin entity, Kraissilis came up with an idea. Just like how the escapees granted their powers to the dwellers of the lower sub-realms, he proposed that we also choose dwellers who were outcasts in those lesser worlds. Agreeing with his strategy, we began to assign posts of gods to some of the observers and hunters in different realms. In the absolute abyss, their code name was 'Abyssal Ravens'. In the realm of living, their code name was 'Divine Spectators'. And in the afterlife, they got coded as 'Judgementals'.

[;;;;...That's more like mentals.]

The abyssal ravens, divine spectators and judgementals began their first operation. They descended to the lower sub-realms granting wishes and powers to the poor dwellers who were in despair. After seven thousand years, the count of the souls who received blessings from our side matched the count of the souls who were worshipping the escapees or to say fake gods. We made the first move in that game of fake gods. Battles were inevitable. Therefore, beings on the side of the fake gods started a war against our blessed souls in many worlds of the lower sub-realms. We named this catastrophic war 'Dawn of the blessed souls'.

[Damn... They used the same method against their enemies. The lord of the afterlife sure is the smartest origin entity for sure.]

The first battle took place in one of the Earths!"

"!!!!"

I interrupted, "What? One of the Earths?"

"It's an earth of another universes. You must have heard the term 'Multiverse', right?", Madrona answered.

I interrupted once again, "Then, what about my homeland, where I was a scientist and people who were worshipping different religions?"

[In my first life, I was called the richest scientist... There were nothing like gods or monsters. I returned back to that same earth in my fifth life that is still ongoing. At that time I saw my'scientist'self in the news declaring that I passed away.]

"Your homeland is a world that is in the higher sub-realms!", He replied.

"!!!!"

I became spellbound and later asked, "Huh?!!! How can a world that has no monsters or anything like in fantasies be in the higher sub-realms?"

The dark reigner replied, "Your earth is an independent world that never held any assistance from external forces. It formed by itself independently. The gods of your homeland are omnipotent. What's more fascinating is that their powers stood on equal footing with us!"

I attempted, "... The gods of my homeland were on equal footing with you origin entities??!"

The dark reigner said while admitting something he should not with a sigh, "Yes!"

I attempted again, "Is that even possible?"

He told, "Your homeland was the only variable. We attempted to bring them down before they can become a threat to the power balance, but we failed each and everytime. Later, they proposed a peace treaty, promised that they would never involve themselves in our mess and in return we too swore not to involve ourselves in their worldly affairs!"

[And here I am, breaking that peace treaty.]

"You don't need to concern yourself about the peace treaty. You will know everything soon enough!"

[Guess, that's that.]

"The first battle of dawn of the blessed souls resulted in an astounding victory. The blessed souls of the fake gods either died or pledged their allegiance. But the battles after that became hectic. We started to loose. It became harder to control the war behind the scenes...!" he paused.

I wondered how the origin entities managed to win the war when they were on the edge.

He continued, "But that's when the tables began to turn around!"

I sharpened my senses.

"Beings who didn't receive any powers began to reign over the blessed souls of both sides. They weren't even connected to any powerful lineages. The powers they used originated from themselves. They created their own powers. That was the first time we ever discovered beings with their own powers. Later, we ordered the observers from our side to inquire them in every region. Each person used different terms to describe themselves in his or her own language. But the terms they used were common when we translated them to the Origin language, that we origin entities speak...!", he paused again.

I asked, "And that term was Grand law?!"

He spoke, "No...!"

[My hunch turned out to be wrong for the first time,huh? What a bummer?]

"Cultivators!", He exclaimed.

[On Earth, there are light novels that were related to ancient chinese and east asians. The martial artists in those novels were termed cultivators because they absorb nature energy and refine it as per their body. Later, they call it internal energy. So, are the cultivators that the dark reigner mentioned just now, the same as what I am thinking right now?]

"You are not wrong. And you are beginning to refer me as dark reigner instead of Mr.Madrona. What about hiding yourself from the other origin entities?", the dark reigner asked while chuckling.

I said, "At this point, it is useless to even try to conceal myself when I am involved in such a huge mess. Moreover, as a key role!"

The dark reigner responded, "You have a point. And for your note, the grand laws 'emerged' from some of these cultivators!"
