ARGUMENT AND COLDNESS
Chapter 1: Argument and Coldness
Kelvin held his phone tightly in his hand, his eyes kept drifting to his downcasted daughter, Mia who sat poutingly on the couch with her head bowed. His breath became ragged and his heart turned stuffy when he noticed her trembling shoulders. With furrowed brows, he called his wife, Diana again and waited for her to pick up. “Hello…” “Thank goodness..”He heaved a relieved sigh after he heard the calm voice. “I’ve been calling you for quite some time. Where’re you? Are you okay?” Kelvin asked in a worried tone. An exhausted sigh was heard from the other end which made Kelvin’s heart skip a beat. “You don't need to worry about me.” A voice too calm and cold responded. She continued after a pause, “Why did you call? You know how busy I am.” The concern on Kelvin’s face paused after he heard her cold voice, his eyes flickered, then he let out a calm smile after some thought. “Did you forget what day it is today? Are you really that busy?” He asked calmly, but his eyes which trailed to his daughter said otherwise. He had noticed how cold his wife had become towards their little family for the past months, but he never knew it would get to the extent that she wouldn't even remember the birthday of their only daughter. The fruit of their love. “Today..? What's going on today? Can you just spit it out, Kelvin? I don't have time for this weak conversation and you should know my every minute counts!” Diana’s voice came out cold and sharp; it pierced through Kelvin's ears and heart. His heart grew cold, his hands holding the phone tightened, and his eyes dulled. Every minute counts? Then what about their daughter’s happiness?! He pinched the middle of his brows, took a relaxed breath and prepared to explain. He could understand her. “Wife…”He called with a soft voice, “Did you forget today is Mia’s—” “Hey, Diana! We need to get going, aren't you done yet? C’mon…We’ve got no time!” A loud male voice called out and interrupted Kelvin who was about to say something. His eyes narrowed as a cold glint flashed through them. “Hold on! I’m almost done with this and I will join you in a second, okay..?” Hearing the gentle response Diana gave the impatient man on the phone, Kelvin's lips curled in a sneer, his face turned pale and his eyes turned cold. He swallowed hard to keep his emotions in check but… How long has Diana spoken gently to him? How long has she spent time with their little family? And she said she was busy? Busy going out this late with her assistant?! The corner of his lips remained curled up, “Busy…?” He asked calmly, then a cold chuckle followed, “Is this what you call busy, Diana? Going out with your male assistant at this time? Where are you both going?” His last question came out a little bit sharper than he had expected but at the thought of the man who had taken her attention away for the past months being with her right now, Kelvin just couldn't take it! “What are you talking about, Kelvin? He’s my assistant, and we are together because we need to work.” Diana’s confused but chilly voice sounded. It was so obvious she was getting more irritated and the sound of her voice poured water on Kelvin who was starting to boil. He turned to look at their daughter who was sneaking glances at him with an expectant look on her face. His hands which were in his pocket clenched hard, but he regained his rationality. He shouldn't be arguing about that for now, his daughter’s happiness matters the most. After calming himself, he continued, “Can you come home? Mia is waiting for you. It's her—” “I can't. Aren't you there? Just keep her company and cajole her like usual and everything would be okay. Isn't that how we do it? Why is today different?” Her cold and slightly impatient voice cut him off making Kelvin speechless. His eyes sparked with anger at her indifference. He could tolerate her being cold to him, he could accept her giving all the gentleness to the assistant whom she wouldn't stop talking about, but what he wouldn't accept is her growing indifference to their daughter! His fist clenched, “Diana—” “Let's end this here. Take care of things there as usual and I’ll make it up to her later. I’ve got to go!” She interrupted, turned, and hung up the call decisively without even trying to hear his words. “You—” He paused as he looked at the phone which had been hung. He looked at the name that still remains on the interface of his phone. His heart beat fastened and the veins on his hands popped out sharply. He swallowed hard, clenched the phone tightly and closed his eyes tight but when he turned around to face his daughter, he had become the loving father again with a smile on his face. He walked to Mia, knelt in front of her with a smile. “Baby, let's not wait for mummy, alright? We’ll celebrate on our own and when mummy comes back—” “Does mama not want me anymore?” The tiny voice of Mia interrupted him, making his words get stuck in his throat. He looked at his daughter speechlessly, “I—” “When I visited Mama’s at the company, I heard the aunties and uncles saying Mama and an uncle are very close and she would soon dump you. But..” She paused, wiped her tears, “Doesn't that mean Mama would find another family? She doesn't want Papa and Mia anymore..” “Mia—!” Kelvin reached out to hug his daughter tightly, but his heart was pounding so fast, his eyes were dyed red. If truly what Mia said was true, then— The buzzing from his phone interrupted him and when he picked it up, he realised it was an email from an unknown sender. He opened the message in curiosity but what he saw shocked him. It was a selfie of his wife, Diana and her assistant, Harry standing in front of a hotel! “Darn it!” He cussed. His eyes widened in shock and the emotions he had managed to put down ignited again. Without a word, he picked up his daughter who was nodding sleepily in his arms, picked up her cardigan then walked away in large strides with his aura cold and surprisingly calm. A few minutes later, Kelvin appeared in front of his neighbour’s house and knocked heavily on the door. “Who’s there—” The beautiful woman who had appeared paused after seeing Kelvin, rolled her eyes but still opened the door, “What do you want?!” she snapped. Kelvin looked at the beautiful woman who had some resemblance to his wife. He ignored her look of dislike and pushed Mia into her arms. “Please, take care of Mia for a while, Elsa. I have some urgent matters with Diana and will be back soon!” He said anxiously and seeing her nod, he heaved a sigh of relief, gave her a grateful smile then rushed out of her apartment. As Kelvin sat in the taxi after he gave the name of the hotel he had seen in the selfie taken, he looked at the smiling face of Diana with an intense gaze. “You'd better prove things wrong…”Expand

EX-WIFE REGRET, NO TURNING BACK! HER HOME NOW
CHAPTER 107 – HER HOME NOWKelvin didn’t remember starting the car.He didn’t remember reversing out of the school parking lot, or the moment he checked his mirrors, or even the turn onto the open road. Everything between the school gate and the highway melted into a blur he couldn’t fully piece together. His mind kept replaying the guard’s words in a loop—Her mother… her mother picked her up… her mother took her home. Each repetition stabbed deeper. The city blurred past him—a mix of orange sun trails, dust in the air, people crossing, hawkers slapping palms on windows—but Kelvin barely saw any of it. His pulse kept pounding loud enough to drown traffic noise. His grip on the steering wheel tightened until the leather bit into his palms. He didn’t bother calling her.He didn’t bother thinking of other possibilities. If she had Mia… then there was only one place she would take her.Diana’s house. He turned into her estate with a sharp swing that made the tires screech. EX-WIFE REGRET, NO TURNING BACK! THE PICK UP
CHAPTER 106 – THE PICKUPKelvin’s day had been slow, heavy in a way he couldn’t quite shake off.He spent the morning buried in work — or at least pretending to. The emails were the same, the calls just noise in the background. He replied to messages without reading half of them. The coffee on his desk went cold twice. It was easier to stay busy than to think about how quiet the house had become lately.Sometimes he could almost hear the echo of Mia’s laughter in the hall, or the faint sound of cartoons still running from the night before. But when he looked up, there was nothing. Just silence. The kind that stretched too far and too long.By two thirty, he was already in his car. Picking Mia up was the only part of his day that still felt like something worth looking forward to. He liked the moment she spotted him through the gate — that burst of energy, that little wave that made everything else fade away. She’d run toward him with her backpack half open, one shoe untied, eyes brigh

EX-WIFE REGRET, NO TURNING BACK! ASHES OF A SISTER
CHAPTER 105 – ASHES OF A SISTER The limousine ride home felt like a coffin on wheels. No one spoke for several long minutes. Only the faint hum of the engine and the occasional flicker of city lights through the tinted windows filled the silence. The air was heavy — thick with the stench of embarrassment, perfume, and something sour that clung to every breath.Joyce sat pressed against the window, her reflection trembling in the glass. Her own eyes looked foreign — wide, tired, angry. The velvet box lay unopened in her lap, her fingers tight around it like it was the last piece of herself she could still protect. Lola sat opposite her, head tilted away, the soft rustle of tissue breaking the quiet. Every few seconds, she sniffed quietly — not because she was crying, but because she wanted to sound like the victim.Mrs. Arizona’s diamond earrings quivered as she adjusted them, her face pale but her voice sharp as a blade. “I cannot believe what you did tonight.”Joyce turned slowly, m

EX-WIFE REGRET, NO TURNING BACK! THE SCANDAL
CHAPTER 104 – THE SCANDALThe room froze for half a heartbeat.A few heads turned, curious eyes darting toward the table where the Arizona sisters sat locked in silence. Joyce’s voice still hung in the air — soft but sharp enough to cut glass. No, bitch, it’s mine.Lola’s lips parted in disbelief. Her smile faltered for the first time all evening. “What did you just say?”Joyce didn’t move. She just stared up at her sister, her hand still resting on the velvet box between them. The tension in her shoulders trembled like a pulled wire.“You heard me,” Joyce said quietly. “Let go.”A ripple of whispers began to rise around them — subtle at first, like the sound of silk rustling. Guests pretending not to watch, eyes glancing sideways over the rims of champagne glasses.Lola leaned closer, her expression changing from shock to fury. “You’re embarrassing yourself,” she hissed under her breath. “Let go of it before people start talking.”“They already are,” Joyce said, her tone colder now.

EX-WIFE REGRET, NO TURNING BACK! THE NECKLACE
CHAPTER 103 – THE NECKLACEThe auction hall glimmered like something out of a dream.Rows of crystal chandeliers hung above, scattering light across velvet seats and polished marble floors. The air smelled of perfume, champagne, and quiet competition — that delicate mix of wealth and vanity that made everyone smile a little too much.Joyce sat three rows from the front, her clutch resting neatly on her lap, her posture straight but tired. The gown she wore shimmered softly in the light, silver-gray silk that caught every movement. Around her, conversations fluttered like wings — laughter, whispers, and the sound of glasses touching crystal. To her left, Mrs. Arizona was leaning in to whisper something to her husband. And beside them, Lola — her sister — lounged like she’d been born to sit under chandeliers. Her dress was deep red, off the shoulder, her skin glowing under the gold light. She looked completely at ease, like she was part of the furniture, expensive and admired. The aucti

EX-WIFE REGRET, NO TURNING BACK! THE MAN IN THE IVORY SUIT
CHAPTER 102 – THE MAN IN THE IVORY SUITThe man’s voice came from behind her, smooth but commanding—like someone used to being listened to, not questioned.“Well, well,” he drawled, his tone heavy with arrogance. “If it isn’t one of the Arizona daughters. You people always know how to make an entrance.”Joyce turned slowly, frown already forming. The man before her was dressed in a fitted ivory suit, the kind that dared attention. His posture screamed confidence—shoulders relaxed, chin slightly lifted, eyes glinting with a kind of lazy superiority. He didn’t look at her like a person. He looked at her like property.“Excuse me?” Joyce asked flatly. He smiled, slow and smug. “No need to look so defensive. I was only complimenting you.” His gaze swept over her gown, uninvited. “You clean up better than I expected.”Her spine stiffened. “You expected something?”“Of course,” he said, unfazed. “I know your family. Everyone does. Arizona Investments practically bleeds through this city. Yo
