In the CEO's office on the top floor.
Lucas stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the bustling city. The secretary, Anna, stood respectfully behind him, holding a tablet. Her hands were trembling slightly.
She had just witnessed the power of the King Family.
"Chairman," Anna reported, her voice filled with awe. "The order has been executed. We attacked the Blackwood Family's stock price ten minutes ago."
"The result?" Lucas asked calmly, swirling his coffee.
"The Blackwood Group's stock crashed by 90%. The bank has frozen their assets. They have declared bankruptcy."
"Ten minutes?" Lucas frowned slightly. "A bit slow. Next time, make it five."
Anna took a deep breath. "Yes, Chairman!"
Destroying a wealthy family in ten minutes, and he thought it was slow? This man was terrifyingly powerful.
...
Meanwhile, outside the building.
Lily was sitting on the curb, crying messy tears. Her makeup was ruined, and she looked like a ghost.
Just then, a taxi screeched to a halt.
Karen, her mother, rushed out. She was wearing flashy jewelry and carrying shopping bags.
"Lily! What happened?" Karen screamed when she saw her daughter sitting on the ground. "Why are you crying? And why did the security guard stop me from entering? Did Lucas cause trouble?"
"Mom..." Lily looked up, her eyes filled with despair. "It's over. Everything is over."
"What do you mean?" Karen pulled her up. "Stop crying! Did you get fired? It's okay! Call Young Master Robert Blackwood! He loves you, doesn't he? He is rich! Ask him to help you find a better job and beat up that loser Lucas!"
Karen was still dreaming. "With the Blackwood family's help, we can crush Lucas easily!"
"Robert?" Lily's eyes lit up slightly.
Yes! She still had Robert! Robert was the heir of a logistics empire worth 100 million! Even if Lucas was rich, Robert surely had connections to fight back, right?
Lily quickly took out her phone and dialed Robert's number.
"Mom, you're right. Robert will save me. He promised to marry me..."
Beep... Beep...
The call connected.
"Robert! Honey!" Lily cried out. "You have to help me! I was bullied! My ex-husband Lucas..."
"YOU BITCH!"
A furious roar exploded from the phone, so loud that even Karen could hear it.
Lily froze. "Robert? What's wrong?"
"You still dare to call me?!" Robert screamed like a madman. "Who the hell did you offend?! Half an hour ago, my family's company was attacked by mysterious capital! My dad has been arrested! Our house is being seized by the bank!"
"We are bankrupt! I am living on the street now!"
"My dad asked around, and the message from the attacker was: 'This is a gift for Lily Carter.'"
"You cursed woman! You killed my family! If I see you again, I will kill you!"
Beep.
The phone hung up.
The air froze.
Karen stood there, her mouth wide open, the shopping bags falling from her hands.
"Bankrupt...?" Karen trembled. "Because of... you?"
Lily dropped her phone. The screen shattered, just like her heart.
It was Lucas. It must be Lucas.
He said he would destroy the Blackwood family. She thought he was bragging. But he really did it. And it only took him the time to drink a cup of coffee.
"Mom..." Lily grabbed her hair, screaming in agony. "We messed up! We really messed up! Lucas is not a loser! He is a god! We offended a god!"
Karen finally realized the gravity of the situation. Her face turned pale as a sheet.
"No... wait!" Karen's eyes spun around, revealing her greedy nature again. "Lily! Don't panic! He is still your ex-husband! You were married for three years! Even if you divorced, you can sue him!"
"Sue him?" Lily looked at her mother like she was crazy.
"Yes! Division of property!" Karen shouted shamelessly. "He is a billionaire now! According to the law, half of his money belongs to you! We will sue him for 2.5 Billion dollars!"
"If he doesn't give us the money, we will expose him on the internet! We will say he abandoned his wife after getting rich!"
Karen grabbed Lily's arm violently. "Let's go home and find a lawyer! We are going to be rich!"
Lily looked at the towering Wilson Group building. She felt a chill down her spine.
Sue the King Family? She had a feeling that her mother was pushing them into a deeper hell.
