"I'm not sure. I know nothing of my origins, nor my parents. I just know that one of them is a useless person." The duplicate said, with a bitter chuckle of disdain and mockery.

And before the owner of the voice could keep the conversation going, it changed the topic. "So, monitor, what is it that you want from me? I'm listening, as long as it's not beyond me." It asked, casually leaning back on the chair with a light smile on his face.

The smile was just a nervous response, that was not from joking or acting. While the attitude was its way of trying to ascertain a domineering presence.

But to the owner of the voice, his actions and attitude, were well aligned with those of a devil. 'Being messengers of fear, they know of no fear themselves. And their only interest, even in life and death, is to ultimately make deals.' They thought in intrigue.

"To be truthful with you, there is nothing I expected out of you. Well, not for the most part, that is." The Monitor of Fate casually said
