04. Fistfight

"Fat!" Jing Yanxi's other followers shouted hysterically. They all looked furious after the fall of their friend at the hands of Hua Fei.

They really wanted to help their fat friend who was now falling on the ground and groaning in pain. However, Hua Fei had already jumped in to block them all.

"Hey, want to help him? Come forward all of you if you want to feel my fist!" Hua Fei clenched her fists in a defiant manner that he made as arrogant as possible.

One of them shouted loudly, "Hua Feiii! You really defended the son of that traitor!"

"Don't talk too much!" Hua Fei snapped and ignored what they said about Jing Ling's father. For him, he would be on the front lines when his brother was in danger.

"Come on! Who else wants to feel my fist?" Hua Fei challenged by raising his fist while grinning sinisterly. "I'll take you down one by one, or all six at once!"

"Look how arrogant the defender of that traitorous child is!" One of Jing Yanxi's younger children pointed with a chin motion at Hua Fei. "At most, after this, he will cry and complain to his uncle."

The laughter of the young people sounded very painful to Hua Fei's ears. A sharp, devastating cold light flashed in his eyes. Hua Fei said, "Don't talk too much. If you want to fight, just fight. Why should you bother mocking others?"

"Or, are you all actually feeling scared and want to immediately run away from me?" Hua Fei smiled mockingly. "In fact, my boxing moves really want to make all of you battered and go home with ugly faces."

"Hah! You think we're afraid of your cheap moves?" A medium-sized boy with a mole on the left of his nose came forward and immediately attacked Hua Fei recklessly. He threw a full force fist.

"Then, I'll be happy to let you experience it!" Hua Fei only needed to bend his head slightly to the side to dodge his opponent's full-strength fist.

The bare-handed attack did not hit the target. On the contrary, Hua Fei managed to elbow the child hard enough in the stomach to create enough pressure and make the attacker vomit the contents of his stomach. Hua Fei himself immediately dodged when a jet of fluid from his opponent's internal organs almost hit his body.

"Damn! That was close!" Hua Fei shouted cursing her opponent. The boy looked at the child who had been hit by his elbow and had fallen to his knees while holding his stomach which felt like it had burst. He grimaced in pain as his clothes were stained with fluid from his stomach.

"Jing Ran!" Jing Ran's friends screamed in unison when they saw their friend fall to the ground, gasping for breath and his body covered in vomit. They immediately scattered to gang up on Hua Fei who had knocked out two of their friends.

Hua Fei this time was quite overwhelmed when facing four children at once. However, he was not a coward and did not want to be carried away by fear that would bring him down mentally. Even though several blows had landed on her skinny, white, soft body, Hua Fei still fought bravely. Luckily, he had often practiced martial arts with Jing Ling.

Meanwhile, Jing Ling herself still has to deal with his arrogant cousin and who really hates him. Occasionally, Jing Ling's beautiful eyes glanced at Hua Fei who was having trouble facing his four opponents. He said silently. "So poor Brother Fei. I have to catch this stinky brat, so that this fight doesn't last too long!"

"Heh, Jiu Ling! Come on and face me again, Donkey Boy!" Jing Yanxi grinned sarcastically at Jing Ling who still looked thoughtful. "Soon, your stupid brother will also run out of strength against my men!"

Jiu Ling is a term used to make fun of and intend to insult Jing Ling, who is known to be Jiu Wang's son.

"Yanxiiiii! I'm not Jiu Liiiiiing!" Jing Ling was starting to run out of patience this time. "Please accept retribution for insulting me and Hua Fei, my big brother! Cheess!"

Jing Ling landed another hard punch on the left side of Jing Yanxi's face, causing the boy's inner cheek to collide with his teeth and causing heavy bleeding which immediately poured out fresh blood. The kid also used the Death Sledgehammer Fist like Hua Fei did. This move was actually a high level skill belonging to the Blood Jade Sect, but they learned about blows that could crush even rocks from Hua Yan, their teacher.

"Aaaaahh!" A loud scream of pain escaped Jing Yanxi's mouth. His head suddenly felt so dizzy that his tall body swayed and almost fell.

"You! You!" Jing Yanxi took a few steps back while holding his face which had been hit by several fists from Jing Ling. The child spat repeatedly to clean the blood in his mouth while grimacing in pain. Jing Yanxi pointed at his opponent while exclaiming, "Jing Liiiing! How dare you beat this venerable young master! You traitorous child!"

"Dear Young Master?" Jing Ling asked as he jumped back and floated slightly and spun three times, then he launched a sweeping kick which successfully landed on Jing Yanxi's back.

Jing Yanxi didn't even have time to dodge or parry the barrage of attacks that landed on his body. But it seemed that this arrogant brat also had little ability to manage the basic level of internal energy techniques that would usually be learned by children in an academy.

Jing Ling herself didn't seem satisfied with venting his anger at the humiliation of her great-brother. The boy with a handsome and pretty face growled and shouted, "I'm not the son of a traitor! I'm the son of Teacher Hua Yaaaaan!"

Jing Yanxi was already battered from getting raw punches from Jing Ling repeatedly. However, the boy's eyes were still red as if possessed by a demon. He once again jumped back a few steps to take a stance, then in the next second Jing Ling ran over and threw a hard kick.

Unsurprisingly, Jing Yanxi's body bounced forward and fell face down and kissed the wet ground. The boy's face was bruised in various places until it swelled and the back of his body felt heavy and very painful. This was because Jing Ling suddenly pressed on his back, which made the young master of the Jing Family feel short of breath.

"Dear Young Master Jing Yanxi! Looks like you are now very comfortable under my feet!" Jing Ling said with his hands on his hips. "Wasn't it you who wanted to make us both footwear?"

"Ji--Jing--Ling!" Jing Yanxi hissed angrily but was completely helpless.

“Taste the consequences of your arrogance, Yanxi!” Jing Ling laughed again with her hands on his hips. He felt satisfied that he could avenge his heartache towards Jing Cheng's son, who was Jing Yue's mother's cousin.

"Jing Ling! I will avenge you!"

"Idiot!" While cursing, Hua Lin landed a slap as swift as a flying arrow, hitting Hua Feng's temple squarely. "Aaah!" Hua Feng screamed so loudly that a few people turned to look at him. Hua Lin didn't care about the gazes of those around them. He continued scolding Hua Feng. "Of course it's not a talisman, it's something to ward off the danger of starvation!" 'Why did I have to meet someone as stupid as him?' Hua Lin felt unlucky in this regard. Hua Feng had no chance to dodge. The slap wasn’t that hard, but it was strong enough to make his body stagger sideways, nearly losing his balance. 'Ward off the danger of starvation? Isn't that just food?' Hua Feng began to understand what his senior meant. Hua Feng rubbed his temple, which had grown a little warm. He groaned in annoyance. "Young Master, you're torturing me again!" "Young Master is always like this. I was just asking a question, but instead, Young Master oppressed me." Hua Feng’s expression turned sad, his lips poutin

"Then I’ll push him to agree!" Mu Lei suddenly declared firmly. Mu Lei was an outsider who had once been saved by Hua Yan during the bloody tragedy of the Mu Tribe five years ago, when a rebellion broke out between the "dirty clothes" and "clean clothes" factions within the tribe, nearly costing him his life to be beheaded. However, it seemed the gods had sent Hua Yan just when his life was hanging by a thread. He narrowly escaped death at the sword of Mu Yan, the Mu Tribe’s traitor, all thanks to Hua Yan’s help. Since that day, he vowed to dedicate his life to repaying the man who had saved him. Even though Hua Yan had long since freed him and never brought it up again, Mu Lei stubbornly insisted on serving as Hua Yan’s guardian, as well as his family’s. "Very well. We’ll see," said Elder Hua Lei this time. Everyone could only hope that Hua Yan wouldn’t mind the security preparations they had made this time. Meanwhile, over at Hua Lin’s courtyard, the young man looked extremely

Hua Yan and Jing Yue stopped their activity, exchanging complex glances tinged with slight disappointment. Both of them steadied their breathing and tried to calm themselves. “Mother, don’t you want to say something to me before I leave?” Jing Ling’s voice startled both his parents. “That naughty boy again!” Hua Yan was slightly annoyed by the shout from behind the door. He let out a small huff, then reluctantly released his embrace. Jing Yue only gave a faint smile at the disappointment on her husband's face, then replied, “Just a moment, Ah Ling. I’m preparing everything your father needs.” Outside the door, Jing Ling furrowed his brows with a slight question in his heart. What exactly were his parents doing in there on a hot midday like this? However, he didn’t want to think too deeply about it. In the end, the young man said, “Alright, Mother. I’m sorry if I disturbed you and Father. I’ll wait outside!” “Very well,” replied Jing Yue from inside the room. Jing Ling’s footste

Hua Lin busied himself loading dried food and snacks into his bag. The sweet aroma of honey and the sharp tang of spices filled his nose, bringing a comforting sensation amid the chaos of preparation. He added one more bottle of honey before pausing, eyeing the bulging pouch. “Ah, this might be too heavy,” Hua Lin thought as he scratched his head. There was a sense of reluctance in reducing even a few items. His eyes kept drifting toward the pile of his favorite snacks, making it hard to part with any of them. But… what if they laugh at me later? he murmured inwardly, before finally lifting the entire load with a satisfied smile. But if I cut down my supplies, I’d regret it. Hua Lin scratched his head again despite it not itching. What now? What if they make fun of me? Ah, whatever. What’s the point of worrying about that? Better safe than sorry, Hua Lin thought as he hoisted his belongings. Besides, we’ll be riding in a carriage. What’s there to worry about? Alright then. Won’t

Meanwhile, Jing Ling began preparing everything needed for supplies during the journey. One of his caretakers was also involved in the flurry of activity. In the corner of the room, Su Ruo, Jing Ling’s loyal caretaker, was folding clothes with utmost care. Her delicate fingers trembled slightly, as if each piece of fabric carried a weight of emotion. “Young Master.” Su Ruo’s voice sounded hoarse, with a bitterness she could not conceal. “This time, you’ll be going to a place that is unfamiliar and far away. Auntie hopes you’ll be careful and not reckless.” “Hmm.” Jing Ling only responded with a soft grunt while wrapping his new spear in a red cloth. He glanced at Su Ruo with an indifferent look. Su Ruo continued in a softer tone, almost a whisper, “You must also follow Master’s advice. Don’t trouble him during the journey.” With a calm demeanor, Jing Ling replied, “Auntie Ruo, don’t worry. I’m grown up and I know what I have to do.” Su Ruo sighed and returned to her task. “Aunti

  • 66. Rain Within the Heart Part 2

Her eyes, blurring Jing Yunxi’s vision. She could only wipe them away silently in a voiceless cry. Her tears fell and shattered like her hope to meet Hua Fei, the one she adored. ‘This sorrow feels like an endless nightmare in the dark of night. This longing is more bitter than bile. Yet the wall between us is so strong and arrogant.’ Jing Yunxi wept quietly in her heart as she walked under the cruel gaze of Jing Yue behind her back. Meanwhile, behind another wall, Hua Fei stood tall like a frozen statue. There was a trace of disappointment on his handsome face, along with helplessness. In the end, he could only lower his head in sadness. Beside Hua Fei, a man in a blue robe gently patted his shoulder. “There are things more important than a woman, and you must be able to choose between them.” “Ah Fei understands, Uncle.” Hua Fei gave a faint, bitter smile. “Prepare to leave,” Hua Yan said as he walked away. “Yes, Uncle.” Hua Fei responded with a respectful bow even though his u
