"Dear Young Master Jing Yanxi. Looks like you are now very comfortable under my feet." Jing Ling said with his hands on his hips. "Wasn't it you who wanted to make us both footwear?"

"Ji--Jing--Ling!" Jing Yanxi hissed angrily but was completely helpless.

“Taste the consequences of your arrogance, Yanxi!” Jing Ling laughed again with his hands on his hips. He felt satisfied that he could avenge his heartache towards Jing Cheng's son, who was Jing Yue's mother's cousin.

"Jing Ling! I will avenge you!"

Jing Ling laughed long and mockingly and said, "Dear Young Master Jing. You should have thought about the consequences from the start. You are nothing more than a loser who will never be able to beat Jing Ling!"

"I--I still haven't lost to you, Jing Ling!" Jing Yanxi tried hard to get up from being bullied by his younger cousin. He is still a hard-hearted child who will not be humbled by anyone.

Apparently, even though the boy's condition was quite pathetic. However, Jing Yanxi's body still contained an astonishing power. A powerful squirm managed to escape Jing Ling's foot. In fact, the opponent who was not ready for the sudden movement staggered until he fell rolling on the ground.

"You! You!" Jing Ling pointed at Jing Yanxi while grimacing in pain.

Jing Yanxi laughed out loud after successfully knocking out his opponent. He then approached Jing Ling who was still sitting on the ground and suddenly Jing Yanxi kicked Jing Ling's waist until he fell down. The scream from Jing Ling's mouth managed to distract Hua Fei who was fighting against four of Jing Yanxi's men.

"Ling Little Brother!" Hua Fei screamed when she saw Jing Ling rolling on the ground.

"Aaahh!"

Hua Fei, who was careless, was hit in the head by a bare hand blow. The boy's body swayed and almost fell. Before the dizziness that attacked his head had disappeared, Hua Fei received another careless kick from a tall boy.

"Take him down quickly!" Jing Yanxi ordered his followers.

"Ready, Young Master!" Jing Yanxi's followers really brutally ganged up on Hua Fei. One even used a piece of wood to beat the body of the only nephew of Hua Yan, the leader of the Cloud Valley Sect.

"Brother Feeei!" Jing Ling shouted in a hysterical voice full of anger mixed with deep sadness, when he witnessed with his own eyes the fraud committed by Jing Ling and his men. "Yanxiiii! I won't let you go!"

Now, the young master stepped on Jing Ling's back after kicking him until he was satisfied. "You trash!"

Jing Yanxi laughed out loud with his hands on his hips. He felt he had the upper hand, because he had managed to bring down this child he hated so much. For a young master with such an arrogant disposition, Jing Ling would only become a serious competitor for power in the Jing Family in the future.

Of course, he had to get rid of the father's cousin's child. Indeed, a thought that was actually very unreasonable for a child of Jing Yanxi's age. If it weren't for the instigation of someone with a cunning nature, of course it wouldn't be possible for an eleven year old boy to have such cruel desires.

“Dare to go against a young master of our esteemed Jing Family! Even though you still have some of the blood of the Jing Family, within you also flows the blood of a traitor!” Jing Yanxi walked over and kicked Jing Ling in the stomach again. Unsurprisingly, the contents of the boy's stomach gushed out powerfully.

"Yan--Yanxi, I will never forget this day!" Jing Ling immediately fainted after his words ended.

"Just passed out like that? How unpleasant!" Again, Jing Yanxi kicked Jing Ling's head with the hard and slightly pointed toe of his shoe. Indeed, this is a very inappropriate thing for a child who is still studying at Xiwang Xueyuan, a well-known academy in the southeastern region.

"I guarantee, you two won't be able to go to class again after this!" Jing Yanxi laughed with satisfaction seeing his competitor fall. "Look! I managed to beat the number one in the rehearsal class. And also, the number one in the medicine class!"

"You trash! Forever you will just be useless dirt!" shouted one of Jing Yanxi's men in an arrogant manner.

"It's also called trash, but it's still trash!" said the others full of satisfaction.

They clapped their hands in victory. Jing Yanxi's men then laughed out loud as they watched the two people they had assaulted lying helpless.

However, their fun didn't last long. A group of people came and shocked them all. This group of people accompanied a beautiful girl dressed in bright red who looked elegant.

"Stop it!" shouted the beautiful young woman who came with several male and female bodyguards in black and red uniforms. "You all have gone too far!"

"Yunxi! Why did you do that? Go away, don't interfere in men's affairs!" Jing Yanxi snapped, even though his heart was very surprised when she saw a girl with a beautiful face, long hair decorated with several hairpins in various shapes, becoming a life shield for Hua Fei.

"Ge! You've gone too far!" Jing Yunxi shouted while protecting Hua Fei's body who had just been beaten by her twin brother's men. "I will report you to father and aunt!"

"Yunxiii! Why are you even defending children who are lower than us?" Jing Yanxi looked very angry with his sister Jing Yunxi.

"Of course I will defend them more! Your actions are very out of line!" Jing Yunxi opposed her brother. Even though they are twins, their nature is always opposite.

"You guys!" Jing Yunxi turned to the bodyguards accompanying her. "Catch them all and help my little brother Jing Ling!"

"Yes, Miss!" The female guards responded and immediately rushed to arrest Jing Yanxi's friends and also helped Jing Ling who was still unconscious.

"You guys! Catch the rioter too!" The beautiful girl firmly pointed at her brother.

"Yunxiiii! I'll make calculations with you later!" Jing Yanxi snorted angrily.

Jing Yunxi, the beautiful girl who was protecting Hua Fei, did not appear afraid. He even just glanced sharply while grinning at his brother.

"Don't touch me! I can walk alone!" Jing Yanxi snapped at one of the bodyguards who was about to grab her body.

"Okay, Young Master. Come on!" The male bodyguard was respectful in dealing with this young master who was known to be arrogant and liked to impose his will.

"Go home, Ge!" Jing Yunxi exclaimed with defiance in her eyes at the brother who was born before her.

"Watch it, Yunxiii! You bully!" Jing Yanxi clenched his fists at Jing Yunxi furiously. The boy walked with long, angry strides, accompanied by the Jing Family guards, and left the scene of the fight. "I'll make calculations with you later!"

"Gege himself is a troublemaker! You will be expelled from the academy if the teacher finds out what you did!" Jing Yunxi did not want to lose to her older brother.

"You!"

"Idiot!" While cursing, Hua Lin landed a slap as swift as a flying arrow, hitting Hua Feng's temple squarely. "Aaah!" Hua Feng screamed so loudly that a few people turned to look at him. Hua Lin didn't care about the gazes of those around them. He continued scolding Hua Feng. "Of course it's not a talisman, it's something to ward off the danger of starvation!" 'Why did I have to meet someone as stupid as him?' Hua Lin felt unlucky in this regard. Hua Feng had no chance to dodge. The slap wasn’t that hard, but it was strong enough to make his body stagger sideways, nearly losing his balance. 'Ward off the danger of starvation? Isn't that just food?' Hua Feng began to understand what his senior meant. Hua Feng rubbed his temple, which had grown a little warm. He groaned in annoyance. "Young Master, you're torturing me again!" "Young Master is always like this. I was just asking a question, but instead, Young Master oppressed me." Hua Feng’s expression turned sad, his lips poutin

"Then I’ll push him to agree!" Mu Lei suddenly declared firmly. Mu Lei was an outsider who had once been saved by Hua Yan during the bloody tragedy of the Mu Tribe five years ago, when a rebellion broke out between the "dirty clothes" and "clean clothes" factions within the tribe, nearly costing him his life to be beheaded. However, it seemed the gods had sent Hua Yan just when his life was hanging by a thread. He narrowly escaped death at the sword of Mu Yan, the Mu Tribe’s traitor, all thanks to Hua Yan’s help. Since that day, he vowed to dedicate his life to repaying the man who had saved him. Even though Hua Yan had long since freed him and never brought it up again, Mu Lei stubbornly insisted on serving as Hua Yan’s guardian, as well as his family’s. "Very well. We’ll see," said Elder Hua Lei this time. Everyone could only hope that Hua Yan wouldn’t mind the security preparations they had made this time. Meanwhile, over at Hua Lin’s courtyard, the young man looked extremely

Hua Yan and Jing Yue stopped their activity, exchanging complex glances tinged with slight disappointment. Both of them steadied their breathing and tried to calm themselves. “Mother, don’t you want to say something to me before I leave?” Jing Ling’s voice startled both his parents. “That naughty boy again!” Hua Yan was slightly annoyed by the shout from behind the door. He let out a small huff, then reluctantly released his embrace. Jing Yue only gave a faint smile at the disappointment on her husband's face, then replied, “Just a moment, Ah Ling. I’m preparing everything your father needs.” Outside the door, Jing Ling furrowed his brows with a slight question in his heart. What exactly were his parents doing in there on a hot midday like this? However, he didn’t want to think too deeply about it. In the end, the young man said, “Alright, Mother. I’m sorry if I disturbed you and Father. I’ll wait outside!” “Very well,” replied Jing Yue from inside the room. Jing Ling’s footste

Hua Lin busied himself loading dried food and snacks into his bag. The sweet aroma of honey and the sharp tang of spices filled his nose, bringing a comforting sensation amid the chaos of preparation. He added one more bottle of honey before pausing, eyeing the bulging pouch. “Ah, this might be too heavy,” Hua Lin thought as he scratched his head. There was a sense of reluctance in reducing even a few items. His eyes kept drifting toward the pile of his favorite snacks, making it hard to part with any of them. But… what if they laugh at me later? he murmured inwardly, before finally lifting the entire load with a satisfied smile. But if I cut down my supplies, I’d regret it. Hua Lin scratched his head again despite it not itching. What now? What if they make fun of me? Ah, whatever. What’s the point of worrying about that? Better safe than sorry, Hua Lin thought as he hoisted his belongings. Besides, we’ll be riding in a carriage. What’s there to worry about? Alright then. Won’t

  • 67. Journey Preparations

Meanwhile, Jing Ling began preparing everything needed for supplies during the journey. One of his caretakers was also involved in the flurry of activity. In the corner of the room, Su Ruo, Jing Ling’s loyal caretaker, was folding clothes with utmost care. Her delicate fingers trembled slightly, as if each piece of fabric carried a weight of emotion. “Young Master.” Su Ruo’s voice sounded hoarse, with a bitterness she could not conceal. “This time, you’ll be going to a place that is unfamiliar and far away. Auntie hopes you’ll be careful and not reckless.” “Hmm.” Jing Ling only responded with a soft grunt while wrapping his new spear in a red cloth. He glanced at Su Ruo with an indifferent look. Su Ruo continued in a softer tone, almost a whisper, “You must also follow Master’s advice. Don’t trouble him during the journey.” With a calm demeanor, Jing Ling replied, “Auntie Ruo, don’t worry. I’m grown up and I know what I have to do.” Su Ruo sighed and returned to her task. “Aunti

Her eyes, blurring Jing Yunxi’s vision. She could only wipe them away silently in a voiceless cry. Her tears fell and shattered like her hope to meet Hua Fei, the one she adored. ‘This sorrow feels like an endless nightmare in the dark of night. This longing is more bitter than bile. Yet the wall between us is so strong and arrogant.’ Jing Yunxi wept quietly in her heart as she walked under the cruel gaze of Jing Yue behind her back. Meanwhile, behind another wall, Hua Fei stood tall like a frozen statue. There was a trace of disappointment on his handsome face, along with helplessness. In the end, he could only lower his head in sadness. Beside Hua Fei, a man in a blue robe gently patted his shoulder. “There are things more important than a woman, and you must be able to choose between them.” “Ah Fei understands, Uncle.” Hua Fei gave a faint, bitter smile. “Prepare to leave,” Hua Yan said as he walked away. “Yes, Uncle.” Hua Fei responded with a respectful bow even though his u
