Chapter 8

“And whose savior are you?!” Lily taunted him with a visible disparaging voice.

Aiden pointed his middle finger at her, Mrs Smith Senior and some other members of the Smith's family and replied with some bright smile that were seemingly humiliating, saying, “It's you, you, you and you.”

“Bastard, will shut your stinky mouth and cut the cr*p now! Leave this place now and stop dragging Jade and other members of our to your graveyard!”

“Enough!”

At this moment, Jackson who had been watching the banter between Aiden and the Smiths family members spoke up forcing Lily to close her mouth in fear. She even went on her knees and cried, “I'm very sorry Mr Foleys. Please, spare my life.”

“I have forgiven you all. So, get up on your feets.” Jackson who was previously mad at members of the Smith's family smiled brightly at them and declared that he had forgiven them.

Lily and Mrs Smith Senior was startled by Jackson’s statement and so were other people present in the hall.

They all froze momentarily in confusion.

“Did Jackson truly forgave members of the Smith's family after they humiliated him and the Foleys?”

“Why the sudden change of mine? Just now, Mr Foley was gravely mad at the Smiths for humiliating him publicly yet he said that he has forgiven them.”

“Is this reality or am I daydreaming? What's going on hear?! I want somebody to wake me up from this sleep!”

Most of the invited wedding guests and onlookers were awashed  by Jackson unprecedent declaration leaving their faces flushed with sheer confusion and frustration.

They have been looking forward to seeing how Jackson will deal with the Smiths after their granddaughter, Miss Jade Smith publicly disgraced him by calling off her marriage with him. However, Jackson didn't even touch any of Smith's family members but instead declared that he had forgiven them.

Such character was unbecoming and unbelievable of Jackson Foley who is known for his ruthlessness towards others.

‘Could it possibly be that Jackson is afraid of that foolish Aiden?’

‘Is Mr Foley afraid of Jade's crazy husband or is there any other thing that he plans to achieve by allowing them to go scot-free?’

Many unanswered questions preoccupied the minds of the onlookers but none of them dared to confront Jackson. Instead, they murmured among themselves, discussing the strangeness of his recent actions.

Even Lily and Mrs Smith Senior found it difficult to believe that Jackson would forgive them so easily.

However, what they didn't know was the fact that Jackson had other hidden plans up his sleeves before saying that he had forgiven the Smith family.

Jackson understood that it would be very hard for him to win Jade’s love especially now that Aiden had shown up. He knew that Jade had always loved Aiden despite his craziness and mentally unstable state.

He only forgave them for two reasons. Firstly, to surprise Jade and make her see him as a changed person with good heart so that their marriage could go on and continue as earlier planned. Secondly, to buy not just the members of the Smith family but every other people present in the hall and then use the opportunity to disgrace, humiliate and publicly annihilate Aiden once and for all. He wanted to Jade's support not just for his marriage with her but also in removing Aiden out of the equation.

He believed that forgiving the Smith's family members would benefit him the most in his quest to marry Jade since every other member of the Smith family was supporting him. If he didn't forgive them, it would be difficult for him to get Jade over but things would be different and easy for him should he forgive them as it would make Jade believe that he did love her.

Also, the Smith family members would be a great instrument to him because he plans to publicly humiliate and maltreat Aiden.

After being shocked momentarily, they recollected themselves and stood up from the ground.

“Thank you Mr Foley!”

Mrs Smith Senior thanked Jackson and then turned to Jade and continued, “Jade, you should thank Mr Foley and proceed with wedding to him immediately…”

Aiden interruptedly stopped Mrs Smith Senior and asked, “Which marriage are you talking about and why should Jade thank this foolish and useless ant?! For your information, Jade is my wife and I can't have or watch any of you humiliate her or force her to do what she doesn't want. Never!”

“Ungrateful Idiot, will you shut up that stinky and blabbing mouth of yours and leave this place now that you still could? How could a useless auchin like you call our savior an ant? To be frank with you Aiden, the worst and grave mistakes my late grandfather had ever made during his lifetime was adopting you and marrying you into our family!” Lily taunted Aiden and then turned to Mrs Smith Senior and said, “Grandma, we have to throw this ungrateful and crazy Aiden out of our family or even annihilate him now else he may be the greatest enemy to family's progress tomorrow. Imagine, we housed, fed and protected our nightmares under our roofs for five years without knowing it.”

Lily also pleaded with Jackson and said, “Mr Foley junior, please give me an order to annihilate this fool and I will get some hitmen to remove him immediately.”

“Preposterous!”

“This crazy Aiden is calling Mr Foley a foolish and useless ant.”

“This is absolutely ridiculous! How can a useless and crazy idiot refuse to regard Mr Foley junior? I tell you this that he must have been tired of living!”

“Hahah!”

All the onlookers began to make jest jest of Aiden's statement.

Some of them stated that Aiden didn't know what he was saying while others blamed Jackson for being too lenient with him which gave him the effontory to talk balk at him very disgustingly and disrespectful.

“Haha!”

Jackson burst into a peal of contemptuous laughter over Aiden's preposterous statement. Wearing a grin on his face, Jackson asked, “Idiot, you claimed that Jade is your wife, right? Did you pay any dowry on her head? I bet you can't even afford to feed yourself once a day not talk of paying Jade's dowry!”
