“Three million dollars? My thirty merit points turned into three million freaking dollars?! What the hell?!” Alexander said in disbelief.

His hand was on his head, staring with widened eyes at the message that only he could see.

If it wasn’t for the fact that the system had made him do the impossible just minutes ago; taking people’s vitality, strength, and memory for himself, he would have doubted his newfound wealth.

“So you’re telling me that I’m a multimillionaire all of a sudden? A fucking multimillionaire? I was broke only a couple minutes ago, got beaten by that bastard Fredrick because I went behind his back to write that entrance exam, looking to get a scholarship into college and now you’re telling me that I’m amongst the top one percent of people in this country and it’s not a dream?” Alexander rambled, talking to the system.

[THAT IS CORRECT. EACH MERIT POINT IS EQUIVALENT TO $100,00 AND SO CONVERTING THE TOTAL OF THIRTY THAT USED TO BE AVAILABLE EARNED MR. ALEXANDER CURRY THE BALANCE OF $3,000,000.]

[PLEASE USE THE MONEY AS YOU SO WISH, MR. ALEXANDER CURRY FOR MORE IS TO COME THE MORE ENTERTAINMENT IS PROVIDED TO THE GODS OF VENGEANCE AND POSSESSIONS]

After seeing the system’s reply, Alexander started laughing.

He pumped both fists into the air and yelled “I’m fucking rich!”, repeating the same phrase and action of pumping his fists into the air a few more times before he noticed bystanders at the other side of the road looking at him like he was crazy.

They looked at him like he was dangerous, murmuring about if he had escaped from the hospital.

Not wanting to be involved with him, they increased how fast they walked so that they could leave the area quickly.

Realizing how weird he was acting, Alexander chuckled, dropped his hands, and rubbed the back of his head embarrassedly.

“I shouldn’t get too excited and draw unwanted attention to myself. After all, I’m the only one who can see and hear the message from the system so people looking at me will just think I’ve lost it. Can’t have people thinking I’ve gone crazy now can I?” Alexander said then sighed as he composed himself.

Just then, staring at the message and focusing on the three million dollars boldly written on the display, a wicked smile crept its way on Alexander’s face as he thought about everything thus far.

He clenched his fist and said “Strength, memory, and now money. With this system, everything I’ve ever wanted and will want will belong to me and there’s nothing and nobody that’ll stand in my way”

[THE GODS OF VENGEANCE AND POSSESSIONS ARE EAGER TO KNOW WHAT MR. ALEXANDER CURRY’S NEXT MOVE IS GOING TO BE?]

Alexander looked at the message, smirked then said “I know that the two want me to get my revenge, especially you, the God of Vengeance, but first, I’m going to get as much money as I can get and as quickly as I can get it. For that, I’m going to go to the only place where quick money is the norm”

Alexander took a little pause and then said “The casino”

Alexander had already planned everything he would need to do to get more money from the casino and with that, he was ready to leave.

He brought out his phone and went to the Uber app then booked for one of the drivers to take him to the biggest and most influential casinos in town.

Once that was done, Alexander who couldn’t get the thought of being a multimillionaire, and as such still had a proud smirk on his face, went off the Uber app and went into his bank statement to check his balance once more. However, what he saw shocked him.

“Five dollars? I only have five dollars in this thing? What the hell? Wait, am I not supposed to have three million dollars waiting for me to use? What’s going on?” Alexander asked himself, frowning as he stared at his screen.

Angry and confused, he looked at the popup message from the system in front of him and asked:

“Hey system, what’s the meaning of this? What happened to the money you said was mine? Why isn’t my three million dollars showing in my bank statement?”

[THAT’S BECAUSE MR. ALEXANDER CURRY HAS YET TO WITHDRAW THE MONEY INTO HIS BANK ACCOUNT]

“Oh,” Alexander muttered, disappointed in himself for not thinking about that.

“I didn’t know I had to withdraw the money into my actual bank first before the money would reflect. I thought it would just reflect the moment I did the conversion” he said.

[THAT IS BECAUSE WITH THE CONVERTED MONEY, MR. ALEXANDER CURRY COULD STILL BUY STAT POINTS AND INCREASE HIS STATS BUT IF ALL MONEY IS WITHDRAWN THEN BUYING STAT POINTS WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE. MR. ALEXANDER CURRY WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE GODS OF VENGEANCE AND POSSESSION GIFT MORE MERIT POINTS IF HE WANTS TO INCREASE HIS STATS.]

“Hmm,” Alexander grunted, placing one hand on his chin and the other on his waist.

“So that means before I request withdrawal I’ll need to think if I would want to keep some money to buy stat points or not. Hmm, with one hundred thousand dollars equating to one merit point and one merit point equating to two stat points, the maths shouldn’t be that hard”

With the hand that was on his chin, Alexander started to bite his thumbnail.

“I won’t be needing any stat points for now and I need as much money as possible for what I’m about to do so I guess it’s decided,” Alexander said to himself then took in a deep breath and sighed.

“Alright system. Transfer the entire three million dollars to my bank account” Alexander said.

He then thought ‘Good thing I had created this bank account in secret when I decided to write the college entrance exam behind that bastard, Fredrick’s back. If I hadn’t, I would have needed to start going around to try and make one and that would have taken some time. Time which I can’t waste right now’

[AS MR. ALEXANDER CURRY WISHES. TRANSFERRING $3,000,000 TO ******311]

[TRANSFER COMPLETE]

[BALANCE: $0]

Immediately after the transfer was completed, from the phone in his hand, Alexander felt and heard the vibration of a notification.

He hurriedly checked his screen and immediately his smirk returned.

He had just received a message from his bank, stating that he had just been credited with three million dollars by an unknown sender and that his current account balance was $3,000,005.

“Good. Now I have money to pay the Uber driver and also to use and get more money. Casino Del Monte Royale, here I come” Alexander said, squeezing his phone in victory.

***

Because he had ordered the express service, Alexander’s Uber arrived very quickly and parked in front of him.

“Are you Mr. Alexander Curry?” The driver asked him through the rolled-down passenger seat window.

“That’s right. I’m the one” Alexander replied, showing the driver his phone screen that proved he was the one who ordered the ride.

“Alright. Well, the door is unlocked so you can come in” the driver said.

Alexander returned his phone to his pocket, got into the back seat, and closed the door.

This was his first time using an Uber service as he always went to school using the Coker Wake High School school bus. Not only did he not have any money to his name— minus that five dollars—before now, but he was never allowed to go anywhere aside from school.

He had to go to school and then immediately the bell rang, return to the Dove estate where they worked him to the bone.

He only had the Uber app because it came preinstalled in his phone but being the smart young multimillionaire that he was, he was able to understand the interface and use it to order this ride very quickly.

“Alright, please take me to the Del Monte Royale casino” Alexander instructed.

Confused as to why the young man in his back seat was telling him where to take him, the driver pointed at the tablet that was installed on the car’s dashboard

The driver said “You don’t have to tell me your destination. You already imputed the information in the app when you booked my service. See, it’s showing what route we should take right here”

Looking at the dashboard tablet, Alexander chuckled nervously.

Being sheltered by the Dove family, as a means of controlling him, meant that he was inexperienced with most of the basic things life had to offer and if he wasn’t careful others would start to notice.

If that happened, it would be bad and dangerous for someone like him who had just come into such a huge amount of wealth, and as such Alexander tried to act normal.

“My mistake, but okay. Go ahead and start the ride”

The driver sighed and replied as he turned on the engine “Okay, sir”

“So, do you think you can remember what happened—what exactly caused you to fall into a coma?” Miss Anderson asked gently, her voice laced with curiosity and concern.Sebastian groaned quietly and grimaced, the effort of remembering seeming almost physically painful.“I assumed by now you would’ve reviewed the footage from Stars Garden Incorporated,” he replied with mild surprise, “to piece together what happened that day.”Miss Anderson nodded solemnly. “We did. I went there myself. Retrieved all the security footage they had. I sat down and watched it frame by frame to uncover the truth behind your collapse. But… there was a problem.”Sebastian raised his eyebrows slowly. “A problem? What kind of problem?”“There were gaps in the footage,” she said, her voice growing tighter.“Gaps? Missing footage?” Sebastian nearly jolted upright, his surprise overriding his fatigue for a brief moment.“Apparently, Stars Garden Incorporated has had terrible security protocols for some time now—or

A few seconds later, the last of the family members had reluctantly exited the room, leaving behind the quiet stillness that comes with privacy. The grand door shut gently, creating a momentary hush as Alexander, Miss Anderson, and Sebastian Foster were finally alone—just as Miss Anderson had requested.Sebastian shifted slightly in his bed and cast his gaze toward Alexander, who stood a short distance away. From the patriarch’s perspective, Alexander seemed like the odd one out, a stranger in what was undeniably a deeply personal family moment. His brow furrowed, and he let out a groan of dissatisfaction.“I appreciate everything you did to save my life, young man,” Sebastian said, his voice firm but not unkind. “But if I recall correctly, I asked everyone to leave so I could speak with Anderson in private. That request included you.”Alexander’s expression stiffened slightly. He cast a quick, uneasy glance toward Miss Anderson, silently seeking her help to explain the situation.Mis

Alexander, Miss Anderson, and Nurse Rebecca stood in solemn silence before the large bed, directly facing Sebastian Foster and the gathered members of the Foster family who stood or sat by his side. The atmosphere in the room was charged with tension, relief, and anticipation—each person processing the patriarch's recovery in their own way.Sebastian’s weary eyes scanned the faces before him. When they landed on Miss Anderson, his expression softened with a trace of sorrow and gratitude.“I was told I’m only alive because you donated a significant amount of your blood for my treatment,” he said quietly, his voice weak but full of sincerity. “I’m extremely grateful to you, Anderson. I truly am.”Despite being too fatigued to move with any vigor, he tried to bow his head in acknowledgment, the effort itself speaking volumes about his appreciation.“It’s no problem, Dad,” Miss Anderson replied with a gentle, almost tearful smile. “After all, what’s family for, if not for this?”The word

“Huh?” Nurse Rebecca quickly stood upright from checking the IV needle in Miss Anderson’s arm and turned to face Alexander with a puzzled expression.“If she can’t move on her own because she’s too weak, then we can just put her in a wheelchair and roll her over to the patriarch’s room,” Alexander suggested, speaking with calm practicality. “That’s assuming there’s a wheelchair around here somewhere. But considering this building has been operating almost like a private hospital for one person over the past three years, I’m almost certain there has to be one nearby.”Miss Anderson’s lips curved into a playful smirk. She tilted her head slightly toward Nurse Rebecca and said with a knowing glint in her eyes, “There is a wheelchair somewhere around here, isn’t there?”She wasn’t just guessing—she knew. She had visited the estate multiple times over the past three years and was confident that she had seen a wheelchair at least once before during her rounds.“Yes,” Nurse Rebecca admitted,

"Master Sebastian has woken up and has specifically requested to see you, Miss Anderson, as well as Sir Alexander, the man who cured him of his life-threatening illness," Sonia announced with a calm but proud tone. Her words seemed to echo through the room like a divine proclamation.Miss Anderson’s eyes widened in sheer disbelief and emotional shock."What... what did you just say?" she asked, her voice trembling with excitement and uncertainty. The hope surging through her veins made her wonder if she had actually heard the words correctly or if her mind had conjured up a hallucination driven by desperation and longing.“I said that the patriarch is awake,” Sonia repeated patiently, her warm voice carrying a hint of relief, “and he would very much like to see the two of you—both you, Miss Anderson, and Sir Alexander. Though he remains somewhat fatigued and is currently resting, he made it quite clear that your presence is deeply important to him. So, if you could find it within your

Because Sarah had passed away and the financial support she once relied on had come to an abrupt end, Sebastian Foster took it upon himself to secure a future for the two daughters she left behind. He created a trust fund in their names, using his immense wealth to ensure that they would be provided for—without ever knowing the true source of the money. To preserve the illusion and protect the fragile truth, he had the bank—which he discreetly owned—pretend that it was Sarah who had established the trust before her death. The fund was sizable—large enough to sustain both Miss Anderson and her younger sister from adolescence into adulthood. It covered their educational expenses, living costs, and any additional support they might need. It was designed to give them access to the finest schools, tutors, and opportunities that money could buy. As a result, the sisters enrolled in the most prestigious high school in the city.
