002. Betrayed!

Having remembered this, Ethan was angered to the core.

He had never forgotten the promise he made to his parents all those years ago.

Ten years after his father’s death, fate brought that same family back into his life through Mr. LeVert— his Grandpa's personal Aid.

LeVert had contacted him a week ago and delivered the message plainly:

“Your Grandfather wants you to return back to the family and become the CEO of GRC!”

Ethan did not hesitate.

This was because he knew his wedding anniversary was fast approaching.

While Ethan remembered all these, LeVert tried to lay out his point, but before he could say anything else, Ethan cut him off.

“When I agreed to return to GRC, I did it for one reason!. It's not because I wanted Mr Wong's appreciation but because I want Ava to take over GRC.”

“I apologize, my lord, but… are you sure you want to make Ava Lugards the CEO of GRC as an anniversary gift?”

“I have never been this sure of anything in my life, Mr. LeVert,” Ethan scoffed.

“If I do this, Ava won’t be so angry with me for hiding my true identity from her.”

“But your grandfather does not support this decision, my lord…”

Ethan turned to LeVert instantly, and his looks silenced the words in him.

“At this moment, my grandfather’s opinion is the least of my concerns. He should be grateful I even agreed to take over GRC after Uncle Darlington made the family lose over $1.5 billion in profit.”

He paused…

“What I do—and how I do it—is none of his business. Is that clear?”

Mr. LeVert bowed his head in agreement.

“By the way, where are the documents of ownership?”

Mr. LeVert handed him the documents, then asked. .

“But how are you so sure that Ava truly loves you?”

The question amused Ethan.

He looked up at LeVert, then broke into a knowing grin.

Ethan took a deep breath and looked at the documents again.

“Ava will be here very soon. I need to sign the papers and present them to her.”

“The pen?” Ethan asked, stretching out his hand.

Levert handed it to him.

Positioning the pen over the document, Ethan was just about to sign it when his phone vibrated.

He paused.

Then took a look at the phone screen.

“A text… from an unknown number?” Ethan murmured.

Unlocking his phone, his expression slowly changed.

“Ethan Loner, you’ve been a pain in my neck for quite some time now. I think it’s high time you realized how foolish you’ve been all these years.”

Attached to the text were several images.

“Who could have sent these pictures?” he muttered to himself.

“Any problem?” Gerald LeVert asked, but Ethan didn’t respond. His eyes remained fixed on the screen.

Suddenly, the images finished loading.

The moment Ethan saw them, his eyes widened in shock.

Curious and alarmed, Mr LeVert leaned over to glance at the phone.

“Shit…” He gasped. “This is unbelievable!”

The pen slipped from Ethan’s fingers and fell to the ground.
