012. Contract Terminated!

Ethan didn’t look pleased by Liam’s declaration. Instead, he seemed both annoyed and confused about why Liam would make such a reckless offer.

Five million dollars was not a small amount, and offering it just to prove a point sounded absurd.

And even offering it for something he knows is true, is at the same time stupid to understand.

Because Ethan was shocked. This same guy here was the same one who sent him the video himself.

Now, the same person who sent the video is challenging to waste his $5 million if Ethan was to prove his point?

However, since Liam wants to play stupid, Ethan decided to make something clear to him.

"No need to waste your FIVE MILLION DOLLARS!"

Liam scoffed.

“You don’t have to burn five million dollars from your wallet just so I can prove my point, I’m willing to do it for free.”

Immediately after hearing this, Ava shook her head.

“There is absolutely nothing to prove here!” She shouted.

“It’s obvious that Ethan is trying to ruin my reputation simply because I divorced him. I didn’t divorce him because I cheated on him with anyone. I divorced him because I’m tired of this marriage!”

Ethan smirked at her again.

“Are you sure about what you’re saying?” he asked.

“I have never been more certain in my life, between you and me, only one person can be lying here—and that liar is you!”

The guests were thrown into deep confusion.

At first, Ethan had claimed that Ava was the one who caused the marriage to break.

But now Ava was confidently insisting that Ethan was the real liar.

The entire situation had become extremely confusing, and at this point, only evidence could reveal who was truly telling the truth.

And Ethan clearly had no intention of backing down.

He took a few slow steps toward Ava and smiled at her again.

When their eyes met, he spoke.

“You look very comfortable standing here and lying to everyone. Even denying the video that was just played on that screen?” Asked Ethan.

"Do you really think you can escape the truth when I have every piece of evidence needed to drag you down?”

Ava replied bitterly. “You’re talking nonsense, Ethan! And I will not stand here and watch you humiliate me. In fact, I’m calling the police on you!”

As she spoke, Ava quickly pulled out her phone.

She acted swiftly because she had already calculated the situation in her mind.

The only way to escape this trap was if Ethan got arrested—or at the very least, if he was thrown out of the party.

If that happened, her secret would remain safe.

That was why she moved her fingers quickly across the screen, doing everything she could to contact the police.

Fortunately, she found the number.

Without hesitation, she dialed it.

And The call connected almost immediately.

“Hello, Sera’s District 8 Police Station. How can we help you?”

Ava opened her mouth to respond.

But before a single word could leave her lips, Ethan suddenly snatched the phone from her hand and switched it off.

“Why are you in such a hurry to call the police?. “Are you afraid that I’m about to reveal your little secret to everyone here?” Ethan asked with a mocking smile

Ava immediately panicked.

“Give me back my phone!” she demanded.

But Ethan refused.

He gripped the phone tightly and looked at her with a knowing expression.

“You and I both know that I’m very aware of your affair with Liam Paige. Is that why you’re so terrified that your secret is about to be exposed in front of everyone?”

Liam’s anger had been building for a while, and he had to force himself to stay calm.

“Why do you keep shouting that I had an affair with your ex-wife? What evidence do you even have to prove it? Why don’t you stop talking and just show the evidence?”

At that moment, Ethan chuckled bitterly.

Then he scoffed.

“Fine. No more time to waste.”

He lifted his gaze and looked straight at Ava. The moment their eyes met, Ava felt her heart skip violently.

Is he really going to reveal the truth to everyone? she wondered anxiously.

Ethan nodded slightly, as if answering her unspoken question.

“I already have the truth right here on my phone. And I don’t think I’m the only one who deserves to watch this video.”

Ava’s lips trembled, while Liam’s eyes narrowed in curiosity.

“What do you mean by that?”

Ethan turned toward the projector and said. “There’s no need for too many explanations. Everyone should just take a careful look at the screen.”

In the blink of an eye, the projector switched on again, and another video appeared.

It was the same video Ethan had played earlier—the one showing Ava moaning while having sex.

However, this time, something was different.

In the first video, the man’s face had been cropped out.

But in this second video, the man’s face was clearly visible.

Everyone could see him and he was none other than Liam Paige.

Just by seeing this footage, the entire hall gasped.

“So Ethan wasn’t lying?!”

“She really cheated on her husband!” someone whispered.

“Could it be because of money?”

“NONSENSE!”

A voice suddenly thundered across the hall, cutting through the murmurs.

It was Liam.

He glared furiously at Ethan.

“How dare you post a fake video of me?” he snapped. “Is that how desperate you’ve become?!”

Ethan simply shrugged.

“You asked for evidence, and I gave you evidence. Why are you so angry now?”

Blinded by rage, Liam grabbed a glass of wine from a nearby table and threw it straight at the projector.

CRASH!

The glass smashed against the screen, splashing wine everywhere as the image shattered.

Pointing directly at Ethan, Liam shouted, “Those videos are fake! I never did anything like that, and that’s why they deserve to be destroyed!”

Instantly, Ethan burst into laughter.

The guests looked at him in shock, wondering why he was laughing at such a moment.

After a few seconds, his laughter faded, and he looked at Liam with a mocking smile.

“Do you really think that by breaking the projector, you’ve destroyed the evidence?” he asked.

He shook his head slowly.

“The answer is no. You may have destroyed the projector’s display, but you haven’t destroyed the evidence on the media.”

Ava frowned.

“What are you planning to—”

“Ava, my dear! Liam! Come take a look at this video. It’s going extremely viral!”

Katherine’s voice suddenly called out from the other side.

Ava hurried over to her.

The video Katherine was showing on her phone was the exact same video— the one with Ava and Liam having sex.

But things were even worse than they expected.

The viewership of the live stream was increasing rapidly.

Nearly 500,000 viewers were already watching the viral video.

The footage clearly showed Ava’s naked body and everything happening between her and Liam.

Fury exploded within Liam.

He stormed back to Ethan, grabbed him by the collar again, and pushed him violently.

“You bastard! Tell me right now—how did you come up with this ridiculous lie?!”

"Can the both of you stop that already?!" Another voice echoed in the background. This time around, it wasn't a male's voice, it was a female voice.

That voice carried authority, thus was able to command power from Liam and his LOUD approach.

Turning to look who had screamed like that, they all saw that it was Michaela.

She pointed at Liam angrily.

"This man here had brought nothin but havoc to what supposed to be a peaceful announcement party! What are we supposed to call this act, huh?"

Feeling the fury in Michaela, Ava tried to step forward. "Please, Miss Murfers,calm down..."

"And as for you!" Michaela turned to Ava, stopping the words on her lips. "Everything happening right now is because of the nuisance you created! If it weren't because of the bad name you've brought to yourself, none of all these would be happening. And as a result of this disgusting act of yours, I have come up with a decision!"

Ava blinked twice. Did she just hear this right? Michaela reached a decision, but what decision is that?!"

Michaela stepped away from the stage to Ava, then looked her straight into the eyes before announcing.

"I cannot believe that a woman who is married would have the audacity to go meet another man for sexual pleasure and at the top of that, she also filmed herself. And this same woman,I can't also believe that she is in sort of a contract with my company!"

Ava forced a smile. "Miss Murfers, I don't understand your point. What are you talking about?"

"What I am talking about is that my company can not work with a woman who goes about having sex with men and having them on video record. For this reason, I reached a decision!"

Everyone's tension rose as Michaela made her last declaration.

"With the power vested on me as the CEO of MURFERS EMPIRE, I hereby terminate the $1.5 billion contact we share with you and your company. Take this documents and sign them immediately! This contact is over!
