Everyone at the party was stunned. As they watched the video playing on the large screen, disbelief spread across their faces. None of them could believe that a woman could commit such an atrocity.

Even Ava herself was shocked to the core. She slowly turned to Liam, who was standing beside her, and glanced at him. At that moment, her eyes asked only one question.

How was this video released? Who released it?

Of course, Ava had to wonder. The last time she checked, she had never recorded herself having sex. If she didn’t make the video, then who did?

“Oops! Isn’t that Miss Lugards? How is she the one in that video?”

“That woman is really shameless! How could she do such a thing when she’s already married?”

The guests had already begun forming their own opinions.

Murmurs spread across the hall as everyone whispered among themselves, most of them speaking negatively about Ava.

Unable to bear their stares, Ava lowered her head in shame, hiding her face from the crowd.

Just then, Ethan scoffed from the stage.

“Why is everyone looking so surprised to see Ava Lugards in that video? Isn’t everything in that video true?”

“No! They are all lies!”

A voice suddenly rang out from behind.

It was Katherine.

She glared at Ethan with undisguised disgust.

“You animal! I knew that after my daughter dumped you, you would go to any extent just to drag her name through the mud. Is that why you went ahead and released a fake video of my daughter, huh?”

Ethan shook his head. “These videos aren’t fake, and you know they aren’t. They are completely real. Just look at your daughter. Can’t you hear the way she’s moaning in that video? Are those sounds fake too?”

His words instantly silenced the entire hall.

Of course, Ethan had carefully planned this moment.

When he heard that Ava and her family had also been invited to the party, he immediately thought of a way to humiliate her publicly.

He wanted her to realize how powerless she truly was.

And he knew the perfect way to destroy her reputation was to play that video in front of everyone.

That was why he didn’t hesitate to upload it.

However, he had done it WISELY.

The video projected on the screen clearly showed Ava in an intimate moment with a man, but the man’s face was never revealed. it was cropped out!

Ethan's intention was simple! He wanted to create a rift between Ava and Liam.

But this act of his infuriated Ava to the core.

Seeing the way everyone stared at her with disgust and called her all sorts of names, she knew she had to defend herself.

She had to clear her name, even though deep down she knew the video was real.

With that in mind, she shot Ethan a furious glare.

“So it has come to this?” she said angrily. “Playing a fake video of me for everyone here to see? Do you really think you can ruin my reputation just by spreading lies like this?”

Ethan sneered.

“You and I both know that this video is real, Ava. And I would never upload a fake video of someone—especially an innocent person. But in this case, you are not innocent. That’s why this video is real.”

Ava shook her head fiercely.

“Nonsense! You’re talking nonsense! And I will sue you for this. You cannot tarnish my image like this—”

“Miss Lugards.”

Michaela’s voice suddenly cut through her words.

“Are you the woman in that footage?”

Without hesitation, Ava answered immediately.

“Never! That’s not me in that video,” she said.

“Everyone knows I’m not capable of something like that. I’m innocent, and I would never do anything to disgrace myself. That video is fake. It’s not real!”

Michaela simply stared at her calmly, saying nothing.

She suddenly remembered that her company was currently in a form of partnership with the Lugards Group. Considering the way the situation was unfolding, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to use it to her advantage.

Taking a few steps away from Ethan, she walked toward Ava.

“One thing I never joke about is accountability and self-respect. I just remembered that Murfers Empire is currently in a business deal with your empire, Ava. And what just happened here is a huge scandal. You should know very well that your name has already been dragged through the mud. Because of this, it will be very difficult for us to continue with this partnership—”

Liam suddenly cut her off.

“No, Miss Murfers. You’re misunderstanding the situation,” he said firmly. “Ava is innocent. I have worked with her for years, and you should believe me when I say that she would never do something like this. Never.”

“Oh? Is that so?” Ethan scoffed almost immediately.

“Did you just say that you’ve worked with Ava for years and you know the things she can do and th things she cannot do?” Ethan asked mockingly. “Well, I’d really love to know. Where exactly did you work with her? Was it on your bed? or on her own matrimonial bed?"

The crowd gasped.

But Ethan wasn’t finished.

“I’d really like to know. Did you work with Ava by sleeping with her, or by having her suck your god-damned..."

Before he could finish, Liam grabbed Ethan by the collar and yanked him forward.

“What did you just say, huh? I dare you to repeat that! Did you just accuse me of having sex with Ava Lugards?!”

Ethan calmly removed Liam’s hand from his collar.

“Why do you sound so guilty? Are you threatened by the fact that I know your deepest secret with my wife? Or should I say… my ex-wife?”Ethan sneered.

Hearing Ethan’s last words only fueled Liam’s anger.

Without thinking twice, Liam grabbed Ethan by the collar again and threw a powerful punch at his face.

SMACK!

“You animal! How dare you accuse me of something I never did?!”

Liam raised his fist again, ready to strike Ethan a second time, but Ethan quickly caught his hand and held it tightly.

“I tried so hard to control myself, But you just pushed me to the wall. Now I don’t see any reason to keep hiding the truth anymore.”

Liam’s eyes widened.

Ava’s heart also began to pound rapidly in her chest. At that moment, she could only wonder;

What is Ethan about to say?

In the next moment, Ethan pushed Liam away and turned to face the crowd.

“I’m sure many of you here don’t know the real truth. Well, the truth is that the woman you all once knew as my wife is no longer my wife. That’s right—we’re divorced.”.

“And the only reason we got divorced,” Ethan continued, pointing directly at Ava, “is because I caught this woman cheating on me with another man. And that man she was sleeping with is none other than the CEO of Paige’s Fashion Home—Liam Paige.”

“And I even have video evidence to support my claim—”

Before Ethan could finish his sentence, Ava raised her hand to slap him.

But Ethan quickly caught her wrist and shoved her backward.

“Don’t think it’s that easy to hit me. I'm no longer the dog whom you used to control!"

Ava’s eyes burned with fury.

“You’re crazy! You’ve completely lost your mind!”

“FIVE MILLION DOLLARS....!”

Liam’s voice suddenly cut through the tension.

Everyone turned to look at him.

“Five million dollars, Ethan. I’m ready to waste five million from my wallet if you can bring out evidence proving that I slept with Ava. Just five million if you can provide it.” Liam declared coldly

Hearing what Liam said, Ethan’s lips curled into a sinister smile. "Just five Million dollars? Should we call that an agreement?”

Liam scoffed. “I dare you, Ethan! Prove your point.”

Cynthia found it extremely difficult to believe what Ethan was telling her.Her father had supposedly set him up to look like the person who had shot her mother. At first, Cynthia thought Ethan was only trying to use her own claim against her. She had previously told the police that her father was the one who shot her mother. She had even gotten her father arrested and gone as far as suing him.She thought Ethan was simply trying to take advantage of that fact to clear his own name. That was why she found his story so difficult to believe. Not until he repeated the same thing again. Her father had wanted to set him up.Cynthia shook her head slowly, as though the words were too heavy for her mind to process.“What... what are you saying? How is that even possible?” she asked.“I saw you with the gun. I saw you when it happened, and I saw my mother lying on the floor. It was obvious that the two of you were having an argument, and maybe one thing led to another and you shot her. Perhap

“It may seem as though you're curious, way more curious about the reason I called you here,” Cynthia started. “But far bigger than your curiosity, you've also been asking yourself one BIG question for the past three days now!” Ethan didn't want to jump to conclusions. His breath caught as he stared at her. “There is one question you've been wanting to ask me all these days, but you don't know how you're going to ask me. Am I right?” Ethan pretended to have no idea what she was talking about. “I don't think I understand what you are talking about, Cynthia!” “I know the truth, Ethan!” Cynthia said without wasting any time. “I know the truth about what actually happened to my mother!” Ethan's lips parted as his heart began beating faster. He didn't even realize when the words slipped out of his mouth. “You know the truth? About... about what happened to your mother?” “What are you talking about?” “The shooter!” Cynthia replied. Anything that would keep the conversation going, he was all for it.Having settled into the chair, Ethan shrugged.“So, here we are! Can I get to hear it already?!”Rather than responding immediately to what Ethan had said, Cynthia tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and heaved a deep sigh.“You see, Ethan, calling you here was something I carefully thought about. And I didn't call you here for just any minor reason!”Ethan remained composed, his eyes fixed on her as she continued.“I called you here because there is something you need to know about this whole case!”Ethan swallowed hard.“There is something I need to know?” he asked.Cynthia nodded.“But what is it?!”Keeping her eyes locked on Ethan, Cynthia continued.“It may seem as though you're curious,

Outside the location Cynthia had sent Ethan to, he stood patiently, his eyes scanning the area as he searched for her.But there was no sign of Cynthia anywhere. His brows furrowed slightly. This was strange.Ethan reached for his phone and checked the message Cynthia had sent him earlier—the one containing the location. Let me hear what she has to say.”“Do you seriously need to hear what she has to say?” the old man asked, his patience clearly wearing thin. “That girl isn't relevant. Let's just get going, okay?”Micheala remained firm.“It’s just a few minutes, Father. I’ll be back in no time.”It was, at least, a partial victory for Ivy.
