She washed her hands, but then she felt a burning sensation in her swollen wrist. She took a second to glare at the redness.. then memories from that morning came flooding her head. ‘I should blame you for how you raised our son!’ She quickly shook the thought off and gently walked outside. Meanwhile, Dexter reached for a bottle of water in the cooler. Perhaps he needed to cool off with what was going on. When he raised his head, his eyes fell on Eleanor, who was pulling her sleeve to cover her hand properly. He sighed, stepping forward. He opened the bottle of water and stretched Eleanor towards, “Have some water.” “I'm okay.” She forced a smile. “You must be in shock,” Dexter dropped the water, “Please, let me know if I can help with anything.” He prompted, his eyes filled with empathy. Dexter gritted his teeth as he stepped forward. “Ethan, I'll ask you just this once. Was it your father who sent you to cover for him? Are you taking the blame on his behalf?” He roared, clearly not buying to his confession. “Answer me!!!” He barked breathlessly. For a few seconds, both of their eyes remained glued on each other. The room was silence, and the air was starting to feel unbearable for everyone in the place. Byron kept a straight face, his eyes scanning his son's, “You… failed to prove yourself. You had one chance.. fuck her to death, but you messed it up.” Ethan lowered his head as tears welled up in his eyes. Then he slowly heard the lighting of cigarettes. Byron blew the smoke out of his mouth, his gaze never leaving Ethan. He lowered himself close to the bed and urged Ethan to look into his eyes. As he spoke, the smoke kept coming out of his mouth, “Turn yourself in once the urgent care is done.” Ethan felt his world spinning at the words he just heard that he raised his head to Byron. “Father.” He called out, his voice trembling with anxiety and shock. “That'll reduce your sentence.
