Chapter 19

I managed to wobble up from the ground. I wiggled my head to clear off my head, and think straight. The tears in my face paused from flowing. It looked strange, a old man in this bloodbath forest. I rushed up and winced backwards, after some seconds I regained my balance, looked into Kyars face, a look of disapproval I gave her. "What?" She asked softly.

I tried to get myself convinced that the man was safe to follow, and since he should be around the forest, he would have known one or more places, good for hiding. Then I agreed with my doubts, Kyar on the other hand, had no options too. She already agreed, since he already woke us up, from the sleep.

"Welcome Guardian." He said with a smile of hope in his lips. He stared at me for long, as silence filled the place, and after the silence, he broke it all, as he cleared his throat. "This is called the present stage. The one you passed through, was called the Past stage, and the only one for you to go through, is called the future stage." He smiled as he paused.

I pondered on what he said, and thought 'could this in any how, relate to the dreams?" I asked myself.

"Yes" the old man answered. It freaked me out, that he could hear through my thoughts. I widened my eyes in surprise, looked straight into Kyar's eyes, and tried all possible best not to think about anything else. Kyar shrugged her shoulders and smirked.

"Wh... What, how did" I stammered, pointed my finger to him.

"Hmm" he smirked too. "I know everything, in your head and mind. I have been here, safe from the Jersey devils, because I can see through them, whenever they are near, and you should try listen to whatever...". Baffled by his last words. How can he be alive and know how to stay alive? And yet he's still trapped or living in the bush?

I moved closer to him and Kyar, but to Kyar more. He looked at me and smiled. The old man already knew my thoughts, which was obviously seen in his face. "I have a mission here." As usual, he paused with a sigh. "The dreams you will have and already have, signifies the present, past and future too, and you're yet to have the visions of the future, in the Chupakabra's stage. I am here..." He sighed again. "I am here to be your guide to the next level, although, no one except you have passed through the second stage. So I just have to make you remember how you passed through here. Many have tried and failed."

"He did came here, with me and we passed through here, together." Kyar retorted. She moved forward and turned to the old man's face.

"Yes, you came together, but he went alone, you and two others only fell asleep and dreamt of it. It was not real to you but him." He replied with a smile yet. Suddenly the smile vanished and he stretched to his feet. He closed his eyes and his ears wiggled. The book in his hand glowed by the pages. He floated a bit from the ground and twirled in the air. After that he came down and regained his senses. "We have to go now." He said sharply and ignoring any opinions of ours,he started to walk away. Kyar raised her eyebrows and gave me a questioning look, as she started to move towards the man, faster at Evey steps.

I watched them go, about fifteen steps from me, Kyar turned around and waved me to come. I had doubt in the man and ignored her. The bloods dried from the leaves except the one I was stood under it, which was the only green leaved tree in the spot. The bloody leaves dried in couple of seconds and all the leaves withered too, left the trees naked. Kyar and the old man was then, about fifty steps from me, almost vanished from the scene, I started to smell some foul odours around, and without thinking about it, I bolted towards them, in my heels, running heavily.

I reached them and Kyar looked at me, with a pitied look. She smirked and scoffed. We walked into a hut. Surrounded by the green trees, the hut was built in the midst. The old man went in first and I followed him, pushing Kyar away from entering. "Ow!" I exclaimed as I saw how the inside was enough to fit in about a hundred thousand people. It was very empty and without waiting a second, the old man opened a underground bunker, which was in the room. Kyar entered and wowed as well. Immediately she entered, the room sealed.

I followed the man, as he climbed down the bunker, but revenge haunted me, as Kyar dragged me out and replaced me. She laughed hard as she was climbing down the stairs to the underground. I didn't take it to me to get angry, I rushed down, as the wall of the house shook. Knowing the Jersey devils were around. I closed the heavy top door of the bunker. I followed her and walked in the bunker, which looked like a science experiment lab, with magical effects.

There were two human-sized tube that were filled with smokes. There were different coloured smokes, coming out from each test tubes and the room was a dark one, with only a illuminating glowing ball, at the center, which shone like the sun.

"Where on earth is this?" I asked softly as I admired and touched some tools which were eye-catching, and amazing.

"Your end" the old man said in a distorted voice. The room turned pitch black as the glowing ball went off. Luckily I could see in the dark, I went for Kyar first, grabbed her to my chest and saw as, the so called, creepy looking jersey devils crept out of the dark of the cracks of the walls, they contorted out of the cracks. The Jersey devils, cracked as they crept in. They outnumbered us.

The man, who slowly creaked his bones and slowly and conveniently walked towards us and turned to a horned creature. His eye popped out first and his claws, almost twice as long as mine, crawled out of his fingers. He grew bigger, still walking towards us. His legs became, bigger and muscular, his bigger eyeballs contained in his eye sockets, as they grew bigger, to contain it. It looked more horrific as it grew more. His nose disappeared, a gem grew out of his forehead and his chest.

"Fuck this shit!" I exclaimed.
