"Bobby, this man came looking for Evans' assistant. He didn't make an appointment beforehand. You know, of course, that Mr. Evans is very busy and cannot be found at random. But this man insisted that I call and tell Mr. Evans. That's simply not possible. I don't want to get scolded." Chloe explained vehemently.

She was quite experienced with people like Greyson Hayes, who came claiming to be relatives or acquaintances of important people in the company. In reality, they were just scammers trying to blackmail or, most likely, job seekers who wanted to attract attention.

Bobby gave the man in question a glance. He laughed kindly while holding Greyson's arm. "Sir, this is it. You can come here again after making an appointment. Oh, since you know Mr. Evans, you would have his cell phone number. How about you call him now and tell him that you're waiting for him in the lobby?"

That's impossible! This person must not have Mr. Evans' cell phone number. Bobby had his own guess.

"I don't have it," Greyson said helplessly.

It was exactly what he thought it would be. Bobby's eyes were filled with mockery.

On the other hand, Chloe couldn't help but laugh. This guy wasn't very smart, apparently. Very predictable.

"Ah, I see. It's probably because you haven't seen each other for a long time and Mr. Evans has changed his cell phone number." It was clear the sarcasm in Bobby's voice when he said the truth.

"I lost the number," Greyson explained the truth. He had lost his cell phone one day which caused some important numbers to vanish as well.

"There is nothing we can do now. We're just following procedure. Sir, you can come back another day after the appointment." Bobby didn't care about that ridiculous excuse. Anyone could say they knew anyone. But as security, he had to make sure that everything was safe and under control.

At the end of that sentence, Bobby pulled Greyson's arm and intended to drag him towards the exit.

"One moment. Don't you give me a chance to prove that I really know Mr. Daniel Evans? I know that you don't believe me." Greyson tried to convince the two.

"We really don't trust you," Chloe said bluntly.

'You look suspicious', Bobby refrained from saying his opinion directly. But he said it, too, with a little pressure. "Sir, don't force me to be rude."

Oh my! Greyson massaged his forehead. He wanted to curse Silvia who couldn't be reached. And where was that Daniel Evans guy? Why didn't he come to pick him up?

"All right, if you don't believe me, that's fine. I'll leave right now." Greyson glanced at the employee elevator doors. He didn't have access to the special elevator for the CEO. He could use the employee elevator.

The 72nd floor is the CEO's office and several important rooms.

Greyson moved to leave the two employees.

Chloe and Bobby's security had already breathed a sigh of relief when they saw Greyson surrender.

But suddenly, Greyson's steps veered from the direction of the path to the outside door. Instead, he half-ran towards the employee elevator doors.

"Oh, my God. Bobby, this guy is crazy!" Chloe almost yelled at her coworker.

"Stop. What are you doing?" Bobby immediately ran after.

There was also another security guard who saw the incident. He also rushed towards Greyson who had almost reached the elevator door.

It was just a short scene.

Greyson had already pressed the elevator button when Bobby and his partner arrived. They immediately stopped Greyson's steps and pulled him away from the elevator.

They treated Greyson like a criminal. Tying his arms behind his back and dragging him roughly to the door outside, then throwing him onto the floor of the building's terrace.

"What a crazy person! Doesn't understand the rules at all. You think this place is the same as the cheap places you used to go?" The fellow security guard spat on the floor, almost hitting the man sitting on the floor.

Greyson groaned in pain as he felt the pain in his butt from the fall. He didn't say anything.

"Get out of here as soon as possible. Otherwise, I'll call the police on charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct." Bobby exclaimed loudly.

Some employees who happened to be passing by there stopped briefly out of curiosity. They looked at the poor man without the slightest pity.

Sights like this are rare indeed. But Hayes Global is a prestigious company in the country. Many people are desperate to do everything they can to get in. Some try the proper way and fail. Others try to take shortcuts. But maybe this guy was too desperate. He looked like an unemployed person trying anything to survive.

"It seems that this man has no shame at all." Someone said to his friend.

"He's crazy to think he can get a place at Hayes Global with this kind of intelligence."

"He deserves to be thrown out."

"What kind of joke is this? He thinks Global Hayes can be entered at will."

A few reproaches echoed in the air.

Just then, a female voice with a cold tone reprimanded loudly. "What's going on here? Isn't it time for work?"

She cut through the crowd with steps that made the sound of her heels clashing with the floor tiles. Her appearance was elegant and respectable. Her chin was raised haughtily. When she saw the figure rising from the floor while patting the back of his pants to shake off the dust, her anger suddenly exploded.

Why drag me into this?” Naomi challenged, her fingers tightening around the small hidden knife. The masked man tilted his head. “Because you, Naomi, are the perfect bait.”He began circling the chair she was tied to, his steps slow and deliberate. “The entire Hayes family will come running for you—especially Greyson, who sees himself as your protector.”The light filtering through the heavy curtains barely illuminated the room. The old wooden floor creaked beneath his steps. Naomi watched his every move, trying to figure out who he was.“You don’t know him that well,” she said, trying to draw out more information. “Greyson is always calculated. He wouldn’t rush into a place like this.”“Oh, he’ll come,” the man said confidently. “I know how his mind works. He always puts himself on the line for people he believes are worth it.”He pointed toward the door. “Even now, I bet he’s searching for clues at your parents’ house.”Naomi’s ey

After hours in captivity, she had devised several strategies. This tiny knife was her last card, carefully concealed within the folds of her clothing.Outside, a few people were talking. Their voices were deliberately lowered, making it impossible to make out their conversation. Then came the sound of a lock being undone, followed by the creak of a turning doorknob. The door pushed open from the outside. Three people stepped into the dimly lit room where Naomi was held. The room itself was shrouded in mystery. The stone walls were old, with peeling paint. A small window was covered by heavy drapes, blocking out all light. The air smelled of dampness and dust, as if the place had been abandoned for years.Naomi’s sharp gaze landed on the man standing directly before her. He wore a dark coat, and his long blonde hair cas

We can help each other."This time, the door creaked open slightly, revealing the weary and anxious face of the middle-aged woman. Her eyes scrutinized Greyson from head to toe, as if trying to read his thoughts. Traces of dried tears were still visible on her wrinkled cheeks."Come in," Mrs. Reed finally said, her voice hoarse. The simple living room was filled with an air of unease. Family photos adorned the walls, showcasing moments of happiness from the Reed family’s past. A few houseplants near the window looked wilted, as if mirroring the distress of the home’s occupants. The faces on the phone screen exchanged confused looks."Never heard of him," Silvia was the first to reply, followed by nods from Ivy and Samantha.Jacob groaned loudly, furrowing his brows in disappointment. Matt was incredibly famous. Half the women in the country adored him. He stared at the screen in disbelief. But these women—either too busy or simply uninterested in entertainment news—claimed not to know him."Sorry, his name has never appeared in any financial reports I read," Silvia replied dryly."I don't like reading gossip magazines," Ivy added, crossing her arms defensively.
