“Okay, Simon. Let’s meet tomorrow,” Damon said before ending the call. As expected, it was about his mother’s death. Simon had found new information, but he couldn’t explain it over the phone. Tomorrow, Damon would get answers.

He put the phone back in his pocket and turned toward the ballroom, but then he stopped. Through the window above, he saw Serena and Michael outside, having a furious argument, their voices cutting through the night.

A smirk tugged at Damon’s lips.

“Why are those idiots shouting at each other now? Did they finally realize how stupid their plan was?” he muttered with a low chuckle.

Leaning closer, he whispered under his breath, almost as if speaking directly to them. “You haven’t seen anything yet. You’re still stubborn, and you’ll still try to harm me and Celia. But neither of us will flinch. You’ll only end up destroying yourselves—and when you regret it, it’ll be too late.”

Damon cracked the window open slightly, just enough to catch their words. They we

She frowned faintly, her mind clouded, her instincts warning her, but her body weak, her voice uncertain. “I should wait here… Damon will be back soon.”Lucas smiled faintly, his voice soothing. “Damon will be back later, but you shouldn’t wait while feeling this sick. Come on, it’s safer to rest.”Her thoughts blurred again, his words sounding almost reasonable, her hand trembling as she tried to push herself up from the chair but faltered instantly.Lucas reached out, steadying her arm, his tone smooth. “See? You can’t even stand properly. Just lean on me, and I’ll take you somewhere quiet.”She shook her head weakly, whispering. “I… I don’t know if I should… this doesn’t feel right… I can wait… I can wait for him here.”Lucas leaned closer, his smile sharp though hidden behind fake concern. “You’ll only embarrass yourself more if you faint here in front of everyone.”Her eyes fluttered. “I just… maybe just a few minutes… somewhere quiet… then I’ll come back… just for a little while

Damon walked steadily down the hotel corridor, his phone back in his pocket, his mind already focused on returning to Celia in the ballroom. But as he moved past the side doors, he felt the faint sound of steps following him, too careful to be random. He didn’t look back at first, but his sharp senses caught the movement near the service door, where someone slipped out quietly.“Sir, excuse me. Could you stop for a moment? There’s a problem ahead, you shouldn’t continue walking down this corridor,” one man said.Damon paused, his gaze icy while his expression remained calm. "And what problem is there exactly? I don’t see anything.”The man smiled too quickly, his uniform neat, but his stance was wrong. “Just routine hotel checks. Please step aside for safety.”Before Damon could respond, another door opened, then another, and suddenly three more men stepped into the hallway like they knew exactly what they were doing. The first man moved closer, trying to block his way completely. “It

Edward Sterling walked across the crowded ballroom with long, firm steps, his face dark with barely controlled anger, and his fists clenched tightly at his sides. He reached Lucas in the dim corner and leaned in close, his voice sharp but controlled, because he could not allow anyone else in the ballroom to hear their voice. “Lucas!” Edward hissed, his eyes burning with fury as he stared at his son. “Are you out of your mind? Do you want to ruin this family completely? Do you want to destroy everything I have worked for with your foolishness?”Lucas tilted his head lazily, his arrogant smirk still on his lips as if his father’s words meant nothing. He blew out one last stream of smoke, his face filled with defiance. “Father, calm down. I’m just enjoying myself. Everyone here is too busy dancing and drinking to care about what I’m doing in this little corner. Why are you making it such a big deal?”Edward’s face tightened, and his voice grew even sharper, though he kept it low. “A big

Michael quickly dialed his father’s assistant, who answered almost immediately. “Mr. Thorne, I was just about to call you. There’s a problem,” the assistant said, his voice heavy with tension. Michael’s expression darkened, and Serena’s heart skipped a beat. “What? What problem? I called to tell you about the humiliation we just suffered at this event, so you could help us fix it. Now you’re saying there’s another problem?” Michael snapped, frustration clear in his voice. “Yes, Mr. Thorne. The problem is about the event itself. What happened to you tonight is spreading fast, and it’s getting out of hand,” the assistant said, fear evident in his tone. But when Michael and Serena heard that, they inhaled slowly, as if the assistant’s words no longer scared them. They believed they already had the right solution, and now they were certain they would find a way out.The assistant’s voice grew sharper. “Mr. Thorne, you don’t understand. This is serious. I think you should come back hom

Vivienne had just finished giving her speech as the guest of honor. Everyone clapped, and her smile never faltered, but inside her mind was far away from the stage. What she really wanted tonight wasn’t applause. It was an answer. She wanted to know if Damon and Celia were truly dating. Each time they smiled at each other, every glance between them—Vivienne studied it all. Yet no matter how much she thought about it, she hadn’t found a single way to test them, not one thing to force a reaction that would reveal the truth. Her eyes locked on them again. Damon leaned closer to Celia, whispering something that made her laugh softly. Vivienne’s nails dug into her palm. She needed to do something. Anything.Just as she was about to step toward their table, her assistant, Eliza, appeared in front of her with urgency written all over her face.“Ma’am, there’s something you need to take care of right now. It’s important,” Eliza said, her tone sharp.Vivienne frowned. “What? What could be so i
