Ron took a deep breath, his hands securely around his daughter so no one would take her away from him. The security men had gathered and as they surrounded him, he shot them a chilling look, daring them to come closer.
“What are you all waiting for? Get him!” Ria yelled, her eyes almost bulging. She could never let such a person ruin the wedding she had planned. However, the men still could not get closer as they felt like they were walking into a dangerous zone. “Let me ask you, Ria,” Ron spoke up. “Is this what you really want? To abandon your child for another man?” “My child?” Ria laughed. “I told you she isn't mine! She is an impostor! Do you think I could ever give birth to a child who is that ugly?” “The child borne out of my body would be glorious, beautiful, and the envy of many! Not this sick child who wouldn’t stop crying with snot all over her face!” She hissed. Ron pursed his lips. Those insults from Ria were painful to him, twisting in his chest. How much more would it be for Hera who was just a child? The trauma of her mother abandoning and insulting her would live with her forever. He couldn't keep exposing her to such a situation. “Hera, let’s go. Father will get you another mummy…” He whispered to her, so they could leave. But then, she started to kick and churn in his arms. “No…” She wailed, the sounds echoing through the open wedding. “I want my mummy! I don’t want a new mummy.” “Please, Mom. Can we go home—” “Shut your trap!” Ria snapped and immediately Hera went quiet, while silently shaking in Ron’s arms. Her little hands clutched his shirt tightly while she stared at Ria’s enraged face. “Haven't I told you I am not your mommy?” She hissed. “You are a bad daughter! Your mom was right in a mental hospital, mad and biting at everyone and you chose not to acknowledge her.” “Silly girl! As little as you are, you want to be a goldigger, huh?” Ron froze in shock as those words sank in. Hera’s mother was in a mental hospital? “Ria, what are you saying?” He asked, his voice higher than normal. “Are you trying to jinx yourself?” “Of course not. How could I?” Ria smiled proudly. “If I had bad luck like her mother, I wouldn't be getting married to such a lovely man.” She slowly turned around to kiss Terry. She had done a lot of work in trying to snag Terry and she wouldn't ruin it for anything. “Then I must say you are really crazy to say that! Can’t you see Hera? She looks just like you and I!” Ron insisted. He had wanted to leave but Ria's words had gotten on his nerves so bad. “The night before I left for prison, we had a good time together. Have you forgotten that?” “No…” Ria chuckled. “I didn’t have a good time with you. You did, with the mentally deranged woman who gave birth to Ria.” “You were foolishly too drunk to even know who you were sleeping with! How do you expect me, a high-class woman who runs a successful business to sleep with you? You must be sick in the head.” Those words completely shocked Ron, as the scenes from that night flashed through his mind. However, they were too blurry for him to fully recollect. But that night, he had been drunk and no one else would have stepped into his room except Ria. “Are you telling the truth?” He asked. “Of course.” Ria smiled proudly. “You see, I am still a chaste woman. I kept myself for so long because I wanted a man who deserves me. Not you but Terry here.” “Now, run along and give this impostor child to her mother!” “Where is she? Who is Hera’s mother?” Ron asked. “Why should I tell you? Look for her yourself—” “Tell me where she is right this instant!” He snapped, his eyes blazing with fury. Ria shook, as a chill ran down her spine. The Ron she witnessed just now was different, angrier, and feral. She quickly spoke up, “I…I don’t know where she is. Last I heard she was taken in by the West family.” “Her name is Elena—” Ron didn't wait for her to finish speaking before he turned around to leave. He knew the West family really well. After all, they were one of the top families in the country. He could easily get access to them with just a phone call. But he decided to go straight to their residence. He drove the old car, straight to the residence where he was immediately stopped at the gate. “Who would you like to see? Do you have an appointment?” “I am here to see Elena,” Ron replied. “Elena Jones?” The security inquired with raised brows but at the same time, a car zoomed straight to the gates and stopped behind Ron’s car. A woman in a maid uniform stepped out and as soon as she saw Ron and Hera, she froze and her face turned pale. “Elena?” Ron whispered as he recognized the woman before him. She was Ria’s immediate younger sister, the one who arrived in the country a few days before he left for prison. What the hell was she doing in a maid uniform?

Elena Is Our Enemy
Ron’s jaw clenched as he calmly shut the door to Elena’s room. There was no use running after her and her sudden escape had only confirmed something he had been suspecting. Elena wasn’t pretending. She knew exactly what she was doing and she knew Hera was her daughter. She may have been weak when she stood before Nathan West, but ever since they got back to the house, Ron had noticed how sharp and attentive she was. Her movements were quick and swift and her words piercing. She didn't seem like a normal maid. It was also commendable that she was able to escape under his watch. “What are you hiding, Elena?” He whispered to himself as he went back to his room. He took the small ziplog bag he had in his bedside drawer, raising it in the air to inspect it. For the years he had spent in prison, he had learned to never trust what he saw and he would always have a backup plan. The bag contained Elena’s hair which he had secretly taken when she was not looking and now, whether she liked
Elena Is Gone
Ria turned back to her friends, folding her arms like a Queen overseeing her kingdom. “Don’t worry, girls. Terry is going to get this scoundrel out of here. Who knows, he would want to get into our party using force?”Ron almost rolled his eyes at Ria, but he controlled himself. There was no use talking brain-rot with someone like her. And now, he was concerned about Elena who hadn't stepped out of the house ever since. Did she notice Ria or was she just taking too long? So, he turned around, wanting to go back in to find her. Of course, he wouldn't let Ria see her. All he wanted to do was make sure she was safe. But as soon as he stepped back, Ria came barreling toward him. “Where are you going? Are you trying to run away before the guards get here?” She yelled, her voice echoing through the open air of the estate.Ron stared at her, his brows creased, “You know, if the guards were to come here, you would be the one thrown out, right?”“Really? Do you even have the power to call
What About Elena?
Ron pursed his lips as he looked from the phone and back to Ria, “Why should I answer you?” “What?” Ria gasped. “Who gave you the balls to be so defiant?” “Defiant?” He shrugged. “I just don't answer to you, that’s it.” “But you must answer to this, Ron.” Ria snarled. “Why were you with Mr. Hunter and even Nathan West was bowing to you! Is there something you are hiding from me?” Ron couldn't help but see Ria for who she was now. She thought she had the world under her feet and she had control over everything. But then, he decided to test her, to push her over the edge to confirm his suspicion. “I don’t know Hunter.” He said. “But I went there to see Nathan West specifically. After all, you told me Elena was with the West family.” “Elena?” Her friends gasped, looking at each other fearfully. Ron quickly caught their expressions and was about to ask questions when Ria cut in. “What…what about Elena? Did you find her?” Her eyes darted around nervously. Ron studied her express

“What do you mean?” Ron frowned. “You know Ria, right? I used to be Ria’s boyfriend.” “I…I don’t know what you are talking about.” Elena shook her head, her eyes darting to look away. Ron pursed his lips, looking from Hera to Elena. Yes, Hera had some similar features with Ria but looking at Elena, she could see how they looked so much alike. He was convinced Elena was Ria’s mother. But it didn't seem like Elena was faking her words. She didn't even bat an eye when she spoke in Hera’s face. “Don’t you see the resemblance—”“Look, Mr. Ron…” Elena took a deep breath, her fists clenching beside her. “I appreciate that you bought me off like a commodity but you can’t force an identity on me.” “I am not anyone’s sister or mother and I certainly do not know you.”As soon as she was done speaking, she walked past Ron but he quickly caught her by the arm. “Where are you going?” He raised a brow at her. “You can’t step into that house anymore.”“Why? Because you bought me?” Elena sneered
