Ron froze, his eyes dimmed slightly. The men who surrounded him quickly noticed the shift in his countenance and quickly, and they rallied around him.

“Little girl, what do you mean? Is Ria Jones really your mom?”

“Yes.” She confirmed, her voice a bit sluggish. “It’s a secret though. Mom doesn't want others to know my father is her ex-boyfriend. No one knows she is my mother too.”

Those words made the truth click in Ron’s mind. He was the ex-boyfriend. Of course, the child would be his because the night before he left for his trial, Ria had given herself to him to assure him.

However, he never expected that night to birth such a result. And that result was being hidden from the world.

“Where are you right now?” He asked.

“I am home alone.” She sniffed. “Are you going to come get me? Please, take me to Mom’s wedding…”

“Stay right where you are. Father is coming.”

As soon as the call ended, Ron turned to the men, “Give me a car. I need to leave.”

“Sure!”

They fought to give him the best car, however, he turned down their offer and went for the plainest car which belonged to a bodyguard. After promising them he would get back to them, he drove off to Ria’s residence.

As expected the little girl he spoke to on the phone opened the door to welcome him. The moment he saw her, she looked exactly like him and Ron couldn't deny her existence.

“You are really my father!” She gasped and immediately ran into his arms. There were several times she would sneak into Ria’s room to check for her father’s photos and now, he appeared before her.

“Where have you been? You abandoned me.” She wailed.

“I didn’t, my girl.” He patted her head. “I am here to stay now. Don’t worry.”

“What’s your name?” He wiped her tears off softly.

“Hera!” She beamed. “Can you call me that? Mom doesn't call me anything.”

Ron’s heart broke when he heard that. As he watched her smile and cry in between, heat flooded his veins, and his fists clenched tightly. However, he made sure to tone down his anger because of his daughter. How could Ria neglect the little girl and even leave her alone at home?

She even had no information about stranger danger as well!

“Let’s go see your mom, shall we?”

He carried her in his arms, noting how shabby her dress looked. Ria was more than capable of taking care of the child well but didn't. He got even angrier as he noted that.

As he placed her in the car, they drove off to the venue of the wedding. It was a beach wedding, decorated grandly and as Ron approached, he noted the number of guests present.

Ria’s family members who opposed their relationship then pushed him to take the blame for her.

And then the groom, the admirer he warned her to stay away from years ago.

No one had noticed Ron yet and he waited for the right time to speak up.

“If anyone objects to this marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace!”

“I object!” His voice boomed through the serene silence. All eyes turned to him who was at the end of the aisle.

With the little girl in his arms, he walked down the aisle, and as Ria’s parents stood up in shock at his presence, Ria’s face turned pale.

“Young man, who are you?” The priest asked as Ron reached the podium.

“Me?” He grinned, a sly smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he stared at Ria. “I am sure the bride knows who I am too well.”

“What is going on?” The groom asked, his brows furrowed as he stared at Ron with a condescending gaze.

“Uhm, Terry, don’t mind him. Let’s get him out of here quick.” Ria said, her eyes darting to her in-laws, hoping they wouldn't take offense.

“You really want to know who I am?” Ron turned to the groom. “I am Ria’s fiancé and the father of her child.”

Gasps echoed, and everyone was on their feet ready to see the drama that was about to ensue. This was the biggest and most talked about wedding in the country right now and the bride already had a child?

“No…” Ria shook her head. “He is lying!” She yelled.

Her parents quickly ran forward, “Of course, he is! No one knows where he got the silly girl from and even claims that she is Ria’s child!”

“Who do you think you are to come in here and destroy my daughter’s day?” Her mother yelled, in his face.

At the same time, Ria started to cry, tears running down her waterproof makeup as she held Terry’s hand tightly.

“Remember the ex-boyfriend I told you about? The one who tried to ruin my business because he was jealous of my success? The one who poisoned my guests and went to prison?”

“Yes, I do.” Terry nodded.

“This is him!” Ria declared. “I don’t know how he got out of prison! But now, he is here to ruin my life further! He wants to crash my happiness all over again.”

“And the child…” She stared at her daughter with a cold gaze. “I don’t know where he rented her from. I have never even slept with any man. How could I have a child?”

“I see…” Terry raised his brows, a mocking grin spread on his face. “Don’t worry, my bride, I will handle this.”

“Someone call the security and get this bastard and his imposter child out of here!”

“You can’t get me out of here unless I choose to,” Ron spoke up, staring back at Terry, a pressurizing aura emanating from him. Terry felt small, the feral look in Ron’s eyes was one he had never seen before.

But what could a poor man who went to prison do to him?

He was the heir to one of the biggest companies in the country that handled the Aerospace business! He couldn't be trifled with.

“Then you will be arrested for trespassing! An ex-convict like you would love to go back to jail, wouldn't you?”

  • Elena Is Our Enemy

Ron’s jaw clenched as he calmly shut the door to Elena’s room. There was no use running after her and her sudden escape had only confirmed something he had been suspecting. Elena wasn’t pretending. She knew exactly what she was doing and she knew Hera was her daughter. She may have been weak when she stood before Nathan West, but ever since they got back to the house, Ron had noticed how sharp and attentive she was. Her movements were quick and swift and her words piercing. She didn't seem like a normal maid. It was also commendable that she was able to escape under his watch. “What are you hiding, Elena?” He whispered to himself as he went back to his room. He took the small ziplog bag he had in his bedside drawer, raising it in the air to inspect it. For the years he had spent in prison, he had learned to never trust what he saw and he would always have a backup plan. The bag contained Elena’s hair which he had secretly taken when she was not looking and now, whether she liked

  • What About Elena?

Ron pursed his lips as he looked from the phone and back to Ria, “Why should I answer you?” “What?” Ria gasped. “Who gave you the balls to be so defiant?” “Defiant?” He shrugged. “I just don't answer to you, that’s it.” “But you must answer to this, Ron.” Ria snarled. “Why were you with Mr. Hunter and even Nathan West was bowing to you! Is there something you are hiding from me?” Ron couldn't help but see Ria for who she was now. She thought she had the world under her feet and she had control over everything. But then, he decided to test her, to push her over the edge to confirm his suspicion. “I don’t know Hunter.” He said. “But I went there to see Nathan West specifically. After all, you told me Elena was with the West family.” “Elena?” Her friends gasped, looking at each other fearfully. Ron quickly caught their expressions and was about to ask questions when Ria cut in. “What…what about Elena? Did you find her?” Her eyes darted around nervously. Ron studied her express

  • DNA Test

“What do you mean?” Ron frowned. “You know Ria, right? I used to be Ria’s boyfriend.” “I…I don’t know what you are talking about.” Elena shook her head, her eyes darting to look away. Ron pursed his lips, looking from Hera to Elena. Yes, Hera had some similar features with Ria but looking at Elena, she could see how they looked so much alike. He was convinced Elena was Ria’s mother. But it didn't seem like Elena was faking her words. She didn't even bat an eye when she spoke in Hera’s face. “Don’t you see the resemblance—”“Look, Mr. Ron…” Elena took a deep breath, her fists clenching beside her. “I appreciate that you bought me off like a commodity but you can’t force an identity on me.” “I am not anyone’s sister or mother and I certainly do not know you.”As soon as she was done speaking, she walked past Ron but he quickly caught her by the arm. “Where are you going?” He raised a brow at her. “You can’t step into that house anymore.”“Why? Because you bought me?” Elena sneered
