Chapter 02

Hearing that, Caleb couldn’t hide his expression of disbelief. This made him unable to help but ask, “You want to divorce me, the man who has always loved you and done everything for you, just because of this rich man?!”

“You’re comparing yourself to Mr. Thompson, Caleb?! Do you know that you’re not even worth the tip of his fingernail?! Hurry up and apologize to him or I’ll really divorce you!” Ava shouted, completely unconcerned even as her words managed to break Caleb’s heart.

Caleb was stunned, completely unable to believe what he was hearing. All the images of a beautiful future with Ava after his day of freedom shattered into pieces, like a mirror that had been violently smashed by a stone.

Really, Caleb didn’t know what to say about this.

At this point, Ethan’s phone suddenly rang. It was a message from someone. When Ethan saw the contents of the message, he immediately showed an annoyed expression.

He said to Ava, "The event has started. Let's go now!"

"B-but... What about your injuries, Mr. Thompson?" Ava asked in a worried tone.

"No problem. Let's go right now."

Ava gave an affirmative nod.

As the two took long strides towards the exit, Ethan stared at Caleb with a hateful expression, saying, "You got lucky today, Bastard! But don't worry, I'll definitely come back to you and repay you for this humiliation tenfold!"

Ava, who was beside Ethan, added, "Don't go anywhere, Caleb! I'll be back after lunch! You'll have to accept your punishment afterward!"

Caleb didn't reply. He still stood there, showing an expression full of disappointment.

Then, the two of them left the house in a Rolls-Royce.

At this point, Caleb decided to visit Old Master Anderson's grave. He wanted to tell him what he had experienced today.

Moreover, before his death three months ago, Caleb promised to visit his grave right after his release day.

Old Master Anderson was one of the prisoners Caleb met in prison. He was a strange man; according to the people in prison. Old Master Anderson always bragged about his identity as a ruler of the hidden Dragon Clan. He called himself the Dragon King.

Caleb thought he was crazy at first, and thought of avoiding him as well, like the other prisoners.

However, as time went by, Caleb felt sorry for him because he was always alone, so he decided to talk to him. Although the story that Old Master Anderson told was too unreasonable, he listened to it and considered it as entertainment.

Moreover, the story was quite interesting, suitable for Caleb who was bored because Ava never visited him.

Every morning, Old Master Anderson practiced martial arts, and Caleb decided to follow his every move to fill his free time. Sometimes, Old Master Anderson would teach him ancient healing techniques, and said that he was very talented in this.

Over the years, Caleb has mastered many martial arts techniques and ancient healing techniques.

This made him realize that Old Master Anderson had an unusual identity. Everything Old Master Anderson said was true!

On the day of his release, Old Master Anderson promised to take him to the Dragon Clan. His great talent was worthy of becoming one of the top brass, even the successor of the Dragon King.

However, three months before the day of his release, Old Master Andreas passed away and was buried in a public cemetery. As a prisoner, Caleb was not allowed to see his funeral. In the end, the last memory left of Old Master Andreas was only a dragon ring that Caleb was currently wearing.

At this point, Caleb left Ava's house and headed towards the public cemetery where Old Master Anderson was buried.

However, because he was still thinking about the incident at home, Caleb lost his focus and unknowingly crossed a road when a car was driving fast.

Luckily, the driver had good reflexes, so he managed to step on the brake pedal in time. The driver, a man with a scary face and a muscular body, then shouted angrily, "Do you want to die, Idiot?! Jump off the cliff if you really want to kill yourself! Don't involve us!"

A beautiful woman behind him interrupted by saying, "Just ignore him! We have to get to the hospital quickly! My grandfather's life is much more important than arguing with him!"

"Alright, Miss Amber," the burly man said respectfully, while at the same time looking at Caleb with hatred and killing intent.

Caleb, who felt guilty, tried to apologize. It was his fault for not focusing, so he didn't get angry even when the burly man cursed at him.

However, when he looked towards the passenger seat, finding an old man who was dying, he couldn't help but say, "It's too late! That old man has Multiple Sclerosis. If he doesn't receive proper treatment within four minutes, he will die!"

Hearing that, the burly man was so angry that he said, "What did you say, You Bastard?! Get out of the way right now!"

When the burly man wanted to drive away, Amber immediately stopped him, got out of the car, and asked Caleb, "Do you know what disease my grandfather has?"

"It's multiple sclerosis, a disease that attacks the central nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Judging from your grandfather's condition, he clearly has difficulty walking, blurred vision, difficulty speaking, and difficulty controlling his bladder. His condition is very dangerous and he only has four minutes," Caleb replied immediately.

The conditions Caleb mentioned were completely correct. With just one look, he was able to identify his grandfather's disease perfectly?

It seemed like this man was a great doctor. This made Amber ask, "Can you cure my grandfather?"

Since Caleb had caused them trouble, it was only right that he help them. He then said, "It will take quite some time to completely cure your grandfather. However, I can ease his condition, so that he can survive until he gets treatment at the hospital."

Amber's face immediately brightened when she found out that Caleb was willing to help. She immediately replied, "I would be very happy if you could ease my grandfather's condition, Mr. Doctor. That would be more than enough."

Caleb was not bothered when Amber called him Mr. Doctor. Although he was not a doctor, he honestly wanted to open his own medical practice when he had enough money. That was his dream after learning ancient medical techniques from Old Master Anderson. He would eventually become a real doctor.

Caleb agreed and took long strides towards the old man. However, the burly man suddenly stopped him by saying, "Is he really trustworthy, Miss Amber?! There's a possibility that he's just a madman trying to take advantage of the situation."
