The two and the half hour period which Logan gave them was almost over. Fisher quickly had the company's lawyer draft up a company within the next few minutes. Luckily, these lawyers knew their jobs.
Jared rushed back into his office with the contract in hand. It was the last minute. The man was so out of breath and looked haggard.
"You were almost late." Logan said under his breath, he looked completely unbothered as he cleaned his nails. He looked at Jared's condition nonchalantly, he looked refreshed and clean thanks to the new clothes which were given to him by the manager.
"Apologies, Mr Mitchell. It took a lot of effort to get everything ready for you." Jared said, breathlessly. One could tell that he barely exercised his body.
After saying this, he carefully handed over the contract to Logan who patiently went through it. Jared was sweating but he watched with surprise how Logan went through the terminologies of the contract. He was grateful that he did not add anything fishy. If not, it would have been a major problem.
Once Logan was done with going through the contract, he took a pen and signed the contract, this was the second time he was signing a contract that day.
"Congratulations, Mr Mitchell. You're now the newest and highest shareholder of Synergy Corp." Jared spoke with a forced smile. "Now, about the company's net value..."
"Don't worry about that." Logan interjected as he relaxed in the manager's seat. "It's my company after all. I wouldn't let it fall, would I now?" He smiled back at the general manager and took out his phone, texting Alfred.
"I want you to reverse Synergy Corp's situation and transfer $30 million to the company. I am now a major shareholder."
Alfred's reply came in seconds. "Understood sir. Congratulations on your first project as Astral Corp’s heir."
Logan got up from the chair as he adjusted his clothes. "Synergy Corp's network will rise back to its initial value before the end of the day." He left a dumbfounded Jared Fisher in the office.
A few hours later, he arrived at the hospital and went straight to his daughter's room.
"Why did you take so long?" Ava glared at her husband the moment she saw him.
Logan stood at the door, staring at his wife's face before moving to the bed where his daughter laid. The weak-looking child had a tube down her throat and an oxygen mask on her face.
"Didn't you hear the question I asked, Logan?" Ava. "Didn't you just go to submit your letter of resignation? How come you're late?"
Logan wondered how Ava knew about his resignation since he told her that he was just going to the company.
Ava noticed the look on Logan's face as she sighed. "My coworkers told me about it but then again, they kept bombarding my phone with calls and messages. I would have known what it was if my phone hadn't died." She said, looking at her phone. She was confused.
If Ava had picked her call, she would have found out what had happened to her superior, Francis Lee. She would find out that he was humiliated by the general manager and asked to bow to her husband and then she would have also found out that her husband was now the big boss of Synergy Corp.
Logan sighed as he walked over to his daughter, touching her hair softly and held her hand in his own, looking at her peaceful expression. "How is she?"
Ava sighed as she looked at her daughter with sadness in her eyes. "They keep saying the same thing. The doctor said that she's okay now till the visiting doctor comes. I really don't know what is keeping him from coming sooner." Ava adjusted the sheet over Mia's body. She gritted her teeth, "I don't know if they are waiting for my daughter to die first before the doctor arrives."
"Don't say such things. The doctor will be here soon. We've just got to have faith."
"How soon will the doctor be here?" Ava sighed as she forced Logan to look at her. "You still haven't answered my question. What took you so long?" She asked.
"The resignation process took longer than expected. That's why I was away for too long," Logan said, not looking her in the eye.
He was frustrated that she couldn't see that he was not in the mood to start answering questions. Not after what happened earlier.

Chapter 21: The Cinderella Conflict
Meanwhile, Logan began to lead Mia through the aisles of beautiful clothes and he was deeply happy when he saw the cheerful smile on her face as she began picking some clothes. “Dada, I like this one!” She said, jumping happily. “Dada, I want that dress! Can I have it?” With a warm look on his face, Logan lifted his daughter so he could look her in the eyes. “Of course, my princess, you can have anything you want.” Mia gave Logan a toothy smile before turning her gaze until she spotted a beautiful blue dress. “Dada, I want that Cinderella dress,” “Right away.” Logan carried his little girl to the aisle in the store and gently put her down. Mia had just picked up the dress when another little girl suddenly snatched it from her hand. "This is mine." The girl glared at Mia before pushing her to the ground. The middle-aged couple behind her simply stood there, watching their daughter bully another girl. Logan's eyes widened as he quickly rushed forward to help her up, che
Chapter 20: The Rejected Truth and Confrontation
Logan looked at the resentment in his wife's eyes then began to explain. “Ava, the truth is… I'm not who you think I am. I belong to a very powerful family, and I'm the heir to the business empire. The headquarters is being controlled by my family's butler named Alfred Alfonso. So you see, I'm a….” “Shut up, you liar!” Ava angrily grabbed her pillow and threw it at Logan's face. “That's it! I can't stand seeing your face right now.” She pointed at the bedroom door. “I want you to get out! You're sleeping in the living room tonight until you stop trying to feed me all this nonsense, you're not sleeping anywhere near me!” Logan was speechless. He would have persisted but he could tell that Ava was too tired for this conversation, so he got up and left. Mia finally woke up the next day and cried when she saw her parents. Logan and Ava couldn't hold in their emotions when they hugged their daughter. It took two weeks of proper monitoring before the doctors officially discharged M
Chapter 19: New Heart, Old Misunderstandings
Logan was beyond amused that he almost burst out laughing, Adriana was taking the glory for what he did. However, instead of exposing her lies, he decided to watch and see how well she faked it "You're too kind Adriana, unlike some people who tried to lie and deceive us about having a familial relationship with the CEO." Stacy said, giving Logan a hateful glare. "Just ignore that clown." Leslie said, sneering at Logan. "A lowlife like you who tried to claim Astral Corp's CEO is your butler. How pathetic." Ava walked over to Adriana with a warm smile. "You helped my family and I would like to repay that. How about I buy you dinner? Please, don't refuse me." "Okay, I won't refuse you but if you don't mind, I'll be bringing my older brother. He has always wanted to meet you. If that's okay with you…" Adriana requested and glanced at Logan. Ava agreed immediately. Logan watched how his wife made plans to have dinner with this ridiculous woman and her stupid brother the coming day.
Chapter 18: The Fraudulent Favor
Meanwhile, at the Cooper family house. Leslie Cooper was shaking when she was on the phone with someone. "This is such great news. Thank you so much for reconsidering my proposal. I'll make sure to rewrite it before sending it to your company. Thank you." Stacy walked into the living room to see her getting out of a phone call and screaming in joy. "Oh my God, Mom. What was that for?" She asked, covering her ears with her hands. "You won't believe who I was talking to just now." Leslie rushed over to her daughter and held her hand. " Astral Corp’s headquarters just called me and they expressed their interest in accepting my proposal." "Oh my, that's good news. How did it happen?" Leslie thought for a minute and then looked at her daughter with a smile. "It was none other than Adriana Lima. I'm sure she did all this. Guess her father does have connections after all." Then Stacy saw her picking up her bag and car keys. "But where are you going, mom?" "To the hospital, dea
Chapter 17: The Weight of a Father’s Regret
"Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.” Logan whispered, almost tearing up. Then he remembered the conversation he had with Leslie and Stacy at the cafeteria. He didn't want to do it, but for Ava, he instructed Alfred. "I need you to give feedback to Smile Corporation on the proposal that the deputy sales director has been trying to get you onboard with. You can instruct them on how to update their proposal and the amount you want to pour into the business, I'll leave it to your capable hands." "Very well sir but if I may ask, the deputy sales director is your mother-in-law, isn't it?" Logan sighed as he shook his head. "If you already know this, then why ask again, Alfred? I already know you ran a background check on me." Alfred chuckled softly. "You seem to know me very well, sire. If that is all, I'll get to work now." The elevator dinged and he stepped out with the phone still in his ears. "Thank you very much, butler Alfred." He said discreetly, not wanting th
Chapter 16: The Truth Dismissed as a Lie
Logan turned back to them and said to Leslie in a low voice, "I think it's quite… Good, but your proposal will need a lot of polishing in it if you really want a company like Astral Corp to invest their money into your business." "I don't need your opinion on my proposal." She said with a displeased look. "What do you even know about business?" She quickly held her tongue before she said any more insulting words. She really needed his help so for now, she needed to behave. Logan sucked in a breath, "That can be arranged." He decided that it was no use hiding the truth from them since it would be revealed in the future anyways. "The CEO is my family's trusted steward, so getting you to meet him is nothing." The smile on Leslie's face morphed into a look of anger. "What the heck are you saying?" Logan was shocked about her sudden change in reaction. Did he say something wrong? Stacy suddenly began to laugh. "I told you not to come to this fool for help, mom. Now, look at him
