Chapter 13: The Demand

 Logan looked at the man who was bowing to him, then he looked at everyone who was watching, a grin of satisfaction flashed across his face. He was purposely stalling so that Francis would remain in that position a little longer.

 Francis on the other hand, was dying of embarrassment. He gritted his teeth as he remained bowing to Logan. He wondered how things had come to this. The table had really turned because some hours ago, they had the upper hand but now, even the general manager was scared of Logan.

 Logan covered his mouth as he faked a  yawn. "That's enough. No need to bow anymore. You're already looking pathetic and it's making my eyes sore. Get lost!"

 Francis couldn't control his anger, he clenched his fists and glared hatefully at Logan but there was nothing he could do but curse the young man in his heart.

 When Jared heard what Logan said, he released a sigh of relief as he rushed over to Logan. "I'm so glad to hear you say this, Mr Mitchell. Please, come to my office, let me get you fresh clothes. These tattered and torn clothes aren't befitting for you."

 Logan's calm composure turned cold when Jared touched him. He yanked his arm away. "Don't touch me." He glared at the man. "Just lead the way."

 "Alright." Jared Fisher, the man who had ousted Logan out of the company and also humiliated him, was speaking with subdued courtesy. "This way please." He turned towards the company to see an audience still there. "What are you all still doing here?

 The employees rushed inside as their lunch break was already over.

 Fisher led Logan back to his office where he went on his knees, explaining to him what was happening to the company. "I beg you sir, please beg Astral Corp not to sink the company."

 Logan pretended to be pondering on what Fisher had said as he gave a wicked smile. "Okay, I'll help you only on one condition.”

 Jared looked at him in anticipation, “What is it?”

 "I want 70% of Synergy Corp’s assets sold to me within an hour." Logan stated.

 Jared almost fell on the ground when he heard this. "Mr Mitchell, what are you saying? I am in no position to do what you're saying. I have no say on who becomes a shareholder." 

 Logan smiled calmly. "I'm not talking about you. I already know what position you hold. It would be stupid of me to assume that you can do anything, don't you think?" Logan sneered, giving him a mocking smile. 

 "Yes...sir." Jared stammered as Logan cleared his throat.

 "I'm sure the board of directors can do something about this. Kindly tell them to make it possible. I want nothing less than 70% of the company's shares today." 

  Jared couldn't understand what was happening. "How much time did you say that I have, sir?" 

 Logan thought for a second. "I'll give you two and a half hours to pull this off, Mr Fisher. If by then you have failed to make it possible, I will no longer negotiate with this company." Logan said as he tilted his head. "You certainly know what would happen if I decide to abandon ship, don't you?" 

 Jared's face turned pale as he nodded frantically. He ran out of the office, thinking of how he had already become an errand boy for Logan. 

 Within the first hour, Jared had called every member of the board as he announced an emergency meeting. At this point, each of the board was aware of what was happening to the company's stocks as they all found a way to attend the meeting. Those who were near drove to the company, while those who were far opt for a FaceTime. 

 During the second hour, the board members vented their anger on Jared Fisher for upsetting someone who was more powerful than their organisation, and at the same time tried to find out who Logan was and his connection with Astral Corp but they got nothing on him which made the board members angry and they cursed Jared  more. 

 Soon, they were already concluding whether they should accept Logan's proposal or not. They finally came to an agreement and agreed to Logan's terms. 

 It was either that or all the hard work and effort which was put into Synergy Corp would be for nothing…
