“You are being disloyal to your family” Mason shouted

"You want to talk about family loyalty, Mason?"

Logan projected his voice over the roaring diesel engines. He ensured every single neighbor on the street could hear him clearly.

"Let us talk about loyalty," Logan continued. "For fifteen years, I lived in your unheated attic. I wore your discarded clothes."

He stepped forward, his cold eyes sweeping over the elite crowd. The neighbors were hanging onto his every word.

"I cooked your meals and scrubbed your floors while you slept in," Logan stated. "When Madison bought purebred dogs, those animals ate premium cuts of meat. I ate their scraps."

Logan pointed a steady finger at Preston Bennett. "I was nothing but an unpaid servant."

The illusion of the perfect, charitable Bennett family shattered in an instant. The crowd erupted into horrified whispers.

In this wealthy neighborhood, reputation was a currency far more valuable than actual gold. Tonight, the Bennett family was completely bankrupt.

Madison went utterly pale.

"Slander!" she shrieked, pointing a trembling finger at Logan. "This is absolute slander!"

She looked frantically at the judging faces of her peers. "Do not listen to a word he says. He is clearly having a mental breakdown. We gave him everything!"

Mason wiped a trickle of blood from his bruised chin. His jaw throbbed intensely, but his natural arrogance refused to die.

He grabbed Sienna by the wrist and yanked her aggressively to the front of the crowd.

Mason was entirely confident in his next move. He had seduced Sienna simply because she belonged to Logan.

He had wanted to prove he could take absolutely anything Logan had. Sienna had eagerly complied the moment she saw his expensive sports car and designer watch.

She was obedient to money. She knew exactly how to play the high society game.

"You are pathetic, Logan," Mason sneered to the horrified neighbors. "He is just bitter because his own girlfriend realized what a complete loser he is."

Mason squeezed Sienna's arm tightly, pulling her closer to his chest.

"Sienna left him voluntarily," Mason announced. "Tell them the truth, Sienna. Tell them how he neglected you, and how you came to me for comfort."

Sienna stood completely frozen under the glaring construction floodlights.

She looked at Mason's bruised, twisted face. Then she looked at Logan.

Her mind went entirely blank.

She had originally slept with Mason purely for a financial upgrade. The Bennetts were rich, and Logan was a penniless charity case.

But right now, the power dynamics had shifted astronomically.

Sienna looked past Logan at the sprawling construction site next door.

Heavy transport trucks were actively offloading massive steel crates stamped with industrial hazard warnings. A towering mechanical drill was already tearing deeply into the earth.

This was not just a luxury mansion renovation, it was an impenetrable fortress.

Logan was spending millions of dollars without batting an eye. The scale of his endless wealth made the Bennett family look like absolute peasants playing with pocket change.

Sienna calculated the odds in her head.

Did she really want to continue opposing a man this incredibly powerful just for Mason? Mason only had a monthly allowance from his father.

Logan had actual liquid cash. If she played this situation perfectly right, perhaps Logan would forgive her.

Perhaps she could live in that incredible, secure fortress with him.

Just then, Logan reached into the inner pocket of his dark coat.

He pulled out a thick, crisp stack of one hundred dollar bills.

He casually peeled off twenty bills from the massive stack. He handed them directly to the site foreman standing nearby.

"Great work securing the perimeter tonight," Logan told the foreman loudly. "Keep the construction crews running all night long. I want the food storage units sealed and insulated by Friday."

"Yes, sir," the foreman nodded eagerly, pocketing the massive cash tip. "We will not stop until the bunker is perfectly secure."

Logan turned his cold gaze back to Sienna.

He slowly tapped the remaining stack of thick bills against his open palm.

He offered a slight, knowing smirk and raised his eyebrow. He fanned the green dollars ever so slightly under the bright lights.

Sienna felt a massive surge of adrenaline. The choice was violently obvious now. She knew exactly who the real winner was.

"No," Sienna gasped loudly.

She violently ripped her arm out of Mason's tight grip. She took three large steps away from him.

Her face instantly twisted into a perfect mask of pure victimhood.

"What are you doing?" Mason hissed under his breath. His eyes widened in absolute panic.

"I will not lie for you anymore, Mason!" Sienna cried out dramatically.

"You coerced me!" Sienna wept. "You threatened to have Logan kicked out of the house and thrown onto the streets if I did not go along with your disgusting games!"

The neighbors gasped in unison. Ashton shook his head in absolute disgust, glaring at Preston Bennett.

"Sienna, shut your mouth this instant!" Madison screamed.

She took a highly threatening step forward. Her elegant facade was completely destroyed.

"I will not be silenced by you people anymore!" Sienna yelled back, squeezing out fake tears perfectly.

She ran desperately toward Logan. Her eyes pleaded for a scrap of his vast wealth and forgiveness.

"I loved Logan! I have always loved Logan!" she sobbed. "You people forced me into this nightmare. You are absolute monsters!"

Mason stood completely paralyzed on the sidewalk.

His face flushed a deep, violent purple shade. He looked like he was going to vomit.

Logan let out a low, echoing chuckle.

"There you have it," Logan said smoothly, addressing the stunned crowd of wealthy elites.

"The prestigious Bennett family. Liars, thieves, and abusers."

Logan tucked the stack of cash back into his coat. He did not spare Sienna a single glance of pity.

He looked squarely at the neighbors. "You all might want to check your own valuables before inviting them over for dinner again.”

"We march to reclaim our stolen harvest."Makhal addressed his gathered horde in the frozen ruins. His deep voice carried over the howling wind."The northern parasites hide behind their metal doors," Makhal told his army. "They feast on the beast that belongs to the ice. We will break their walls and drag them into the snow."The two hundred cannibals roared their approval. They slammed their scavenged weapons against the frozen asphalt. The rhythmic pounding signaled their march to war.Makhal turned toward the northern border. He led the army out of the dense southern ruins. They did not carry their raw hide shields today. They marched in two long columns flanking a weapon engineered for total annihilation.A severed bridge girder spanned the frozen distance between the columns. The Hogul Dah had ripped the structural support from a collapsed overpass. Thick iron chains looped around the oxidized steel beam. Fifty pale giants hoisted the brutal battering ram upon their broad should

"Evade the target right now!"Eric screamed the frantic command over the secure radio frequency. The digital audio hissed violently against the howling mountain wind."The seismic sensors are peaking off the scale," the engineer continued from the bunker control room. "You have a massive biological entity rising directly beneath your boots. Jump off the glacial shelf before it breaches.""I am not moving," Logan replied. The colossal Glacial Serpent reared its head above the shattered ice. Pale translucent scales reflected the blinding blizzard. The monolithic beast blotted out the gray storm clouds above the frozen peak. It opened a jaw wide enough to swallow a commercial vehicle and bared its crystalline fangs."The telemetry shows a surface temperature of absolute zero on those scales," Eric begged over the comms. "If that creature touches you, your cells will flash freeze on impact. You cannot survive that level of thermal drain.""I must test the internal furnace," Logan stated.

The radio static hissed violently against the howling wind."You are approaching the threshold of total organ failure," Eric continued. "The biometrics are flashing red across my console."Logan dragged his exhausted torso over the final icy ledge of the towering mountain. The wind shear at the apex of the glacier threatened to peel the flesh from his bones. The temperature defied all natural physics."I am holding the summit," Logan gasped into his chest rig. His breath materialized as thick white crystals in the freezing air."The telemetry indicates your lungs are crystallizing," Eric warned. "You cannot survive this exposure. The human body is not built for this atmospheric layer. Come back down to the city grid. We need you here.""The Alpha cannibal resides in the city," Logan grunted. "Get the reserve militia to the roof access hatch right now."Eric barked the command over the secure radio channel as he sprinted from the main control room. He pushed his legs hard up the concrete stairwell, taking the cold steps two at a time. His lungs burned from the exertion, yet he ignored the fatigue to reach the top landing. He found Marcus and Ashton waiting near the door."We need the sealed cardboard crates from the secondary storage locker," Eric told the commanders between ragged gasps for air. "Bring them out onto the ice."Ashton grabbed the handle of the metal storage unit and ripped the lock off with his bare hands. He dragged a crate onto the freezing concrete roof. The teenage commander tore the top open to reveal thick cylindrical tubes packed with commercial grade paper."These are standard fireworks," Ashton said. He looked at the colorful explosives in pure confusion. "You want to fight an army of monsters with bottle rockets?"A sharp laugh escaped Eric's thro

They shoved the steel barrels of their rifles through the murder holes Doran had engineered into the barricade."Target the front line," Doran ordered. "Leave the logs."Ashton issued the command in a ragged whisper. He crouched behind the pulverized brick wall and stared across the neutral asphalt. The Hogul Dah siege camp crawled with hundreds of pale giants preparing for an imminent assault."We need the timber to build the barricade," Mill argued. He hoisted his heavy iron axe. "We cannot stop working.""We are out of time," Ashton replied. He turned away from the terrifying sight. He pointed at five members of the Vanguard squad. "You five hold this position. Guard the timber we already cut. Hide in the ruins and do not engage the enemy under any circumstance."He turned to Mill, Sarah, and the remaining three soldiers. "Drop your tools. Take only your weapons. We are sprinting back to the bunker.""Logan ordered us to harvest," Sarah reminded him."I am giving you a new order," Ashton commanded with absolute authority.
