Inside his now-empty house, Owen stared at the notification floating before him.

“I really don’t understand… Bloodline? Godline System?”

Owen slowly blinked as he stared at the notification floating before him. Thankfully, he had truly returned from a death that had been incredibly cruel.

But there were still so many things he didn’t understand. Especially the system that had appeared before him—it felt like something straight out of a comic he had once read.

“Does this mean I’m related by blood to the gods?” Owen pointed at himself as he swallowed nervously.

[Welcome, Host.]

“What?” Owen was even more startled. “You can respond to me?”

Owen was completely confused, but he continued staring at the screen before him.

[The Godline System was created to locate and guide the descendants of the gods. Its purpose is not to grant power, but to awaken the divine bloodline already flowing within your body.]

[Not everyone is qualified to become my host.]

[To activate the Godline System, three conditions must be fulfilled.]

[First: The candidate must possess a genuine divine bloodline.]

[Second: The candidate must have experienced death. Only a soul that has crossed the boundary between life and death can withstand the awakening of divine blood.]

[Third: The candidate’s soul must be compatible with the system.]

[You have fulfilled all three conditions.]

Owen read the messages over and over again. He couldn’t believe that he was actually related by blood to the gods he had heard about all his life. But the system had revealed the truth to him.

Returning to life had become a reality, and the strength he had displayed when kicking Reinard and driving them out of his house had been completely real.

He took a moment to steady his breathing as his heartbeat gradually became more stable. He began to relax.

“This is an opportunity I can’t afford to waste.”

Thinking back to the last moment he had been in this world, Owen had been consumed by a deep sense of despair.

“I have to survive.” His hands clenched tightly. “They might still be looking for a way to kill me.”

The mission he had received from the system was not yet complete. During these two days, besides staying alive, he wanted to do something to them. Now that he realized how cruel they had been toward him all this time, he knew they would try to do the same thing again.

The most important thing for him was to save his own life.

Owen looked outside. The people he had driven out were no longer in his house.

The next morning, when Owen woke up, his phone had been ringing repeatedly. Sarah had called him ten times, and there were twenty messages from her.

“She’s really persistent.” Owen stared at his phone screen.

Don’t forget that we’re going to the mountain villa to party.

Reading the message made Owen smirk.

If he followed Sarah’s suggestion, he would end up falling into the same trap all over again.

Owen blocked Sarah’s number, but it didn’t take long for Reinard to contact him instead.

“Why did you block Sarah’s number? Do you really want her to be angry with you, Owen?”

Owen listened to his rambling while yawning.

“Yeah, I made a mistake. I’ll unblock Sarah.” Owen spoke as though he genuinely felt guilty.

Reinard was smiling on the other end of the call as he glanced at the woman beside him.

“Don’t forget to take her shopping. Sarah will forgive you if you spoil her.” Reinard once again pushed Owen to do exactly what he wanted.

Owen’s fingers, which had been tapping against the table, suddenly stopped. He remembered what always happened whenever his relationship with Sarah ran into trouble. Reinard would always encourage him to buy expensive things for Sarah.

So, they had been together for a long time.

Owen’s jaw tightened, but he kept his voice calm.

“You’re right. You really are a great cousin. How about you come along too?”

Owen knew there was no way Reinard could refuse such an offer.

A moment later, he heard the answer he had been waiting for.

“Yeah, sure. I’ll come too.”

When the call ended, Owen smiled. This was his way of ensuring his survival. For the next two days, he would simply set a trap for them before they had the chance to do anything to him.

Sarah looked around with sparkling eyes. Seeing all the luxurious items surrounding her immediately excited her.

“Wow, this place is amazing.” She looked at Owen with a smile. “I’ll forgive you if you treat me like this.”

Owen was far too disgusted to return the smile of the traitor standing before him. He simply nodded.

“Pick whatever you want.”

It was better for him to keep some distance from the two people who were clearly more interested in shopping and spending his money than anything else.

Quietly, Owen began putting his plan into action. He kept an eye on the two of them, and whenever he found something suitable, he immediately slipped it into Sarah’s shopping bag.

Fortunately, the two shameless people were so enthusiastic about spending his money that they didn’t pay any attention to their surroundings. Without them realizing it, Owen had already slipped away.

“I’ve picked everything I want. You can pay for it, Owen.”

Sarah finally turned around, but no matter where she looked, she couldn’t find Owen.

“Reinard, where is Owen?”

Reinard furrowed his brows. He couldn’t find Owen either. “Wasn’t he with you?”

Losing track of Owen immediately put them in a bad mood.

“That man is so annoying. Can’t he just stay quiet and stop getting on my nerves?” she insulted Owen.

Seeing how much they had bought, they became increasingly anxious because Owen wasn’t there to pay for everything.

A salesgirl nearby had been watching them and finally approached them.

“Miss, sir, are you still going to purchase all of these?”

Sarah glared at her irritably. “Of course we are. I’ll make a call.”

She immediately called Owen, but none of her calls were answered. The same thing happened when Reinard tried contacting him.

“Damn it. He’s really getting on my nerves!” Reinard shouted.

Sarah clicked her tongue, becoming even more impatient to find Owen.

“Wait. Let’s look for him.”

Sarah grabbed Reinard’s hand, her face red with embarrassment and anger. She had never been put in such a humiliating situation in her entire life.

Her footsteps quickened, but she stopped as soon as she passed through the store’s entrance when a loud alarm suddenly blared.

“Stop them!”

A powerful shout followed, quickly closing in on the two of them.

He’d do anything for me. I know what he’s doing now is just to make me jealous,” she muttered. At that exact moment, the door finally opened. Owen immediately saw her, and his expression t
