Sound in the Kitchen

"Why should I lie? What's the advantage for me?" asked Thomas.

“Thomas,” Rio called out in a trembling voice.

"Why?"

"You know what happened last night?" Rio asked.

"Of course. You're out of the room, I don't know what to do," said Thomas.

Rio put on a serious face. He didn't want to joke anymore for now. His mind was already on the scary incident that happened last night. He wanted his friend to know that something terrible had happened to him.

"At first I thought that I did leave the room and went to the toilet to pee. And then, when I came out of the toilet, I saw you go into the toilet. I don't care. But when I was in the room, I saw you sleeping on the bed. That's what surprised me," said Rio.

"You must be lying. I didn't go to the toilet last night," Thomas said.

"That's the problem. I thought so too. That's why I fell asleep next to you. However, it turned out that my guess was wrong. You who was on the bed suddenly turned into that woman's ghost. His face is so scary. The point is, after that scary incident, I ran to your mom and dad's room," said Rio.

"Why did you go there?" asked Thomas.

"Of course it was out of fear. It was your mother who opened the door, and I went straight in. But you know what happened next? Your mother also turned into that creepy figure," said Rio.

"Then?"

"Then I woke up from my sleep," replied Rio.

"Ha? It was all just a dream?" asked Thomas.

"That's the oddity. But you said that you saw me out of the room. Even though I didn't leave the room. Except that it wasn't a dream," said Rio.

Now Thomas's face also looks scared. It seemed he didn't want to hear any more scary stories from Rio, but he was very curious.

"I think the ghost really came. Heh, dare to enter my house. Just watch out later," said Thomas.

Rio was silent. He couldn't imagine the scary face he saw last night. It was too scary to remember.

"Tonight you have to sleep at my house again," said Thomas.

"What?"

Rio was surprised to hear that. How could he possibly want to go back to the place that nearly scared him to death last night? Going back there is tantamount to defying death. He didn't want to go through something like what happened last night.

"No. I don't want to," said Rio.

"Why? Are you scared?" asked Thomas.

"Heh, why don't you ask yourself? Are you also afraid of the ghost?" Rio asked back. Thomas was silent.

His hands clenched tightly. His head hung low as if something was bothering him. But no one knows, including Rio.

"But the ghost had gone too far. I just want to know what it means to terrorize our village," said Thomas.

"Same, me too. But, that ghost is too scary for us to face. Even though last night was just a dream, but it almost scared me to death. Then what if it happened for real?" Rio said.

Thomas gritted his teeth. He was annoyed with everything. He's been feeling restless lately. Desanya yang mendadak diteror oleh hantu membuatnya wanted to do something he didn't know what it was. Yes, he wanted to do something, but he didn't know what to do.

In short, twilight has arrived again. Soon it will be night. And that's where the ghost will surely wander again. Thomas was sitting on the sofa at home with his mother. His gaze is blank, his mind is only focused on the ghost.

"Mom, you said Aunt Marni was missing, is it true or not?" asked Thomas.

"Not lost, Thomas. He just went to his family's house," his mother replied.

"If I have an opinion, is this opinion acceptable?" asked Thomas.

His mother, who had been focusing on the television screen, suddenly focused on her son. She felt there was something important that her son would talk about. That's why she wanted to hear it.

"What?"

"The female ghost terrorized this village along with the disappearance of Aunt Marni. For some reason I thought that the ghost was Aunt Marni," said Thomas.

"Huss, Thomas. Don't talk like that! If the ghost is Aunt Marni, it means she's dead. But Aunt Marni is going to her family's place," said her mother.

"Yeah, I know that too. But is there any real evidence that she was actually there?" asked Thomas.

His mother was silent. Shortly after, the sound of something falling from the kitchen startled them both. They stare at each other. The only thing they thought was that the ghost had come back.

"Let me see," said Thomas.

"Let mother accompany you," said his mother.

"You don't have to. Mom just stay here," said Thomas.

He acts like he's not afraid of ghosts, even though he's actually really scared. But, he was fed up with it all. Even though what he was about to meet was a ghost, he was prepared to face it alone. He didn't care about that.

His feet stepped into the kitchen. His every step felt like he was nearing death. Yes, his heart was pounding every time his feet took a step. However, he had not the slightest intention of returning. He wanted to determine first what object fell and who caused it.

Until when he opened the kitchen door, he saw a pan lying on the floor. Finally he knows what object fell. Now it's just a matter of finding out who caused it.

"Meong."

He just took one step to find out who caused the pan to fall, he already heard the sound of his beloved cat. Unfortunately, he was surprised when he heard it. Perhaps it was the effect of the fear that was too intense within him to cause him to be startled even by the sound of a cat.

"Heh, that sucks. It's just a surprise," said Thomas.

"Ah, the cat must have dropped this pan," he said again.

Without fear anymore, he immediately returned the pan to its place. Only then did he return to meet his mother. Turns out, it was just a cat.

"What, Thomas?" her mother asked.

"Just a cat, ma'am. Drop the pan," Thomas replied. His mother nodded in understanding.

Thomas sat back down next to his mother. He wanted to continue the conversation that had been delayed due to the sound of the falling pan. However, just as he was about to speak, he heard the same voice again as before.

"Thomas," his mother called. Her gaze meant that she was afraid.

"Maybe another cat, Mom. Leave it alone!" said Thomas.

"Let's take a look over there!" said his mother.

"No need, Mom. Just let it go! Indeed the cat is really fun," said Thomas.

As if there was no fear in his heart. But in truth, he is also feeling what is called fear. He thought, is it possible for a cat to make the same mistake in a short time? If the cause is not cat, then who?
