The portal glowed with a stream of dark emerald green at the edges, its essence charging all the way to the very centre that regurgitated the group.Four of them stepped through another version of a tree and were exposed to a harsh breeze that blew sand into the air.Jax covered his nostrils, eyes squinting as he looked ahead. Orin and Eldric entered last and as soon as Orin gazed at the sight in front of him, he groaned."Really, Forge?"Forge raised his hands up, a subtle frown settling on his face. "What? We're in a desert. What did you expect?""So there's no other tree that's close?" Sophia had told Jax everything he needed to know in order to get Draco. Every piece of information she had. The night was still very cold, frost hanging on the edges of the woods the cabin was made of. The team had moved away from where the fire burned the forest and back into a pitch black night, where the sky was shielded by the canopy structure of the woods.Orin aided with the fire as usual without even being told. He and Eldric walked in the front while Forge wrapped his arms over his chest, the cold seeping into his skin as he walked next to the NPC they had just saved.Jax, on the other hand, did not feel the cold as much as the others. A broken branch of tree sat in the distance and he slid past the floor, skin digging into the mud and dirt but he did not care for much.His eyes fixated on the scene ahead where the night had everything blocked with darkness. Jax placed his hands back into his pockets and in no time, his thought process deepened again.He remembered when he left Lumora all of a sudden. For someone who was even mistreated there, eventually he had to go back. He had to go back to Lumora just to face all that he had passed through for him to get better.Though the game didn't treat NPCs as though they were worth more, the ones who were self-aware had developed some sort of emotional sensation and Jax was aware of this.It was why he hoped Forge wouldn't develop the same confusion he did.
