In the village of Lunareth, the smallest village of the Normal Elven Tribe, an elven island was located on the waters that divided the Demon Territory and the Normal Elven Territory. Although the island was closer to the Normal Elven settlement, they had claimed it for themselves, and over the years, a small village had been built on it.

In an open clearing a few meters away from the water stood armored figures nearly seven feet tall. Their faces were red, with two long horns extending from the sides of their heads. They quickly stepped down from their ships, forming battle lines the moment their feet touched the island. In their hands were dark swords and axes, with some kind of flame-like energy radiating from the weapons.

On each of their ships was the large image of a red face with long horns on both sides. More demon ships continued to arrive, and thousands of demons stepped down from them, moving into battle formations.

On the other side of the island's entrance stood hundreds of female figures with bows, longswords, spears, and shields in their hands. At first glance, one might think they were humans, but upon moving closer, it would become clear that they weren't. They had longer ears, slightly longer faces, and their teeth were almost similar to those of vampires. Most of their skin was human-like, while some were green, almost the same color as leaves. On their faces were finger-like markings. To them, these were known as Warrior Marks. Each time they were going into battle, they painted their faces like this.

The Tidewatchers had spotted the demon warships approaching and informed the villagers, which was why the Normal Elves were aware of the coming battle even before the demons arrived.

At the front of the elves was a male leading them. He was about six feet tall and green in skin color. He wore armor along with a war helmet, and in his left hand, he held a spear, while a shield was strapped behind him. Although, in this world, men were generally weak, it was a different scenario for him. He was the king of this elven village. He had trained and worked hard to get to the top, earning the respect of females and other villages, not just because he was a male, but because he was among the strongest in the Elven Tribe.

"We must survive this before support from the other elven village arrive," he muttered.

As he spoke, more and more demons stepped down from their ships and moved into battle formations. He didn't need to count. He could already tell that the demons currently on the battlefield were more than three times the population of elves on the island.

"Kill them all! We're taking their land!"

A demon screamed, his voice loud enough for even the elves to hear him clearly. He stood at the edge of one of the ships and didn't even bother stepping down. Among the demons, he was a high-ranking individual and one of their war commanders.

"War!"

The demons shouted in unison and began running toward the elves.

"Archers!" the Elven King commanded.

Dozens of archers stepped forward and readied their arrows to be fired.

Over the years, in the world of Crimson, there had been an ongoing battle among the different races: Humans, Normal Elves, Dark Elves, Beastskins, Vampires, Goblins, and Demons. They had all been fighting for power, fighting to determine who would stand at the top and make decisions for the world. None of the races wanted to be below another and be treated like trash, nor did they want another race to take part of their territory.

Because of this, the races constantly fought among themselves, and none of them wanted to be friendly with one another. If a different race noticed that another race was falling behind in the power rankings, they would attack them with the aim of claiming part of their kingdom, such as a village or city, and forcing the defeated race under their control. Sometimes, they would wipe out everyone in that territory.

With this, the more territory a race had taken from another, the more feared and respected that race became. Since the beginning of the war, almost everyone among the different races had become a warrior, protecting their people and territories. Their leaders were also wise and had built great walls around their territories.

Among the highest-ranking races were the Demons, Vampires, Dark Elves, and Beastskins. Below them were Humans, Normal Elves, and lastly, Goblins.

The aim of the Demons wasn't just to defeat a race and take their territory. Their main aim was to wipe out all the other races in this world so they could have the entire world for themselves. Slowly, they were achieving it because they were currently at the top, having taken control of five territories overall.

.........

A few meters away from the battlefield, inside one of the largest huts on the island, a decisive moment was unfolding for three individuals.

A pregnant elf was about to give birth, and standing outside were the pregnant woman's sister and the village shaman.

By her side was a four-feets-long sword. She had been asked to stay behind by the Village King, who was also her sister's husband. The reason was to protect her sister if an attack came while she was giving birth.

"Push," the woman beside the pregnant elf muttered.

"Ahhhhh... Rabooooo!"

The pregnant woman cried out as she faced her challenge, pushing the baby out with all the strength she had.

*Boom!*

An assault was launched and war cries could be heard. This time, the voices weren't as far away as they had been earlier, they were getting closer.

......

Adams' POV

......

The space around me seemed to shake. I tried to move, to help my mother push me out, but I couldn't control my body the way I wanted. I quickly became exhausted from the effort.

Then, with another big push, I was expelled into the world.

'Oh, light... after what felt like hours in darkness, now I'm finally out' Adams muttered inwardly before pausing for a while.

'What's going on in my head? It feels like something is missing'

*Twak!* *Twak!*

One of the elves slapped Adams on his back a few times, and instantly, he began to cry.

"Yaaaaaaaa!" Adams cried loudly, and although he tried to stop, he couldn't.

'Why am I even crying?' Just as he thought about this, his crying became even louder.

......

[Third POV]

"Anyaaaaaà!"

The baby screamed loudly, and from outside the hut, the elven shaman and the elven lady named Feria could hear the cry of the child.

"Finally, she has given birth," Feria muttered with a smile on her face.

Within seconds, she and the shaman had already sprinted into the hut.

"Sister!"

Feria muttered with a smile as she spotted her sister lying on a wooden bed with her newborn baby in her hands.

"It's a male, Feria. Come and see," she muttered, calling Feria forward before handing the baby over to her.

"Ohhhh... thank the Goddess."

Feria muttered as she held the baby and kissed him on the forehead. Ever since the existence of their village, this was only the fifth male child to be born, and he was the son of the Village King. Only the Goddess knew how happy he was going to be when he heard this information.

In elven tradition, a child had to be blessed by a shaman a few minutes after birth. Through the blessing, they could see how powerful the child would become, and sometimes a prophecy would be made about the child's future. Handing the child over to the old shaman to bless him, the old man smiled as he grabbed the child.

"Karakiiii Kara."

The shaman spoke in the elven language. He raised the child up as though he was handing the child to someone above. Bringing the child back down to his chest level, a white light erupted from his hand, and he placed it against the child's chest.

"What?" the shaman muttered in shock with a puzzled expression on his face.

"Human blood?"

Looking closely at the child's face again, he noticed something odd. The child's ears weren't even slightly long, and his face wasn't oval-shaped like that of an elf.

Looking toward the Elven King's wife, she lowered her head in shame. The shaman had uncovered a secret she never believed could be exposed.

'He has discovered that I slept with a human. How will the king feel when he hears this?' she muttered inwardly.

'I wasn't even in love with the human. I met him in the forest when he lost his way here, and I helped him with a map that would take him back to his territory. We ended up having sex. I didn't plan for it to happen... Oh, my Goddess, the punishment for this is being chased out of the race. Which race will accept me? Not even the human I slept with will accept me. Ever since then, we haven't seen each other, and I barely even know him.'

*Boom!*

A loud explosion shook the ground, making everyone inside the hut freeze for a moment. This time, it wasn't coming from far away. It was right inside the village.

"Fall back! The village barrier has been broken!" A loud voice screamed, and from the distance came the sound of hundreds of running feet, along with weapons crashing against one another. The demons had broken through the barrier the Normal Elves used to protect their village, and now they had no choice but to retreat and protect the few villagers remaining inside.

This time, the elves weren't as many as they had been at the beginning of the battle. Their numbers had been reduced by more than half, and the same had happened to the demons, as thousands of them had also been killed. Among the elves retreating back to the village was the Village King, and by his side were several elves waiting for his command. One of the main reasons he had retreated was because of his wife, who was currently giving birth. The moment he arrived back in the village, his eyes immediately moved toward the hut, but no one was standing outside. Neither the warrior he had positioned there nor the shaman could be seen.

"My wife!" the king screamed and immediately rushed toward the hut, with several elves following behind him. On their way, demons attacked them, but they were thrown to the side by beams of light erupting from the elves' hands. The king didn't stop. His only concern at that moment was whether his wife and child were safe.

The moment the king entered the hut, his eyes immediately fell upon the newborn child lying beside his exhausted wife. Her eyes were swollen with tears, which was expected because she must have gone through a lot of pain while giving birth. Since it was her first time, the swollen eyes and tears were understandable.

"A son?" he muttered as a smile appeared on his face. "My child is a boy!" His smile widened, and for a moment, the battle outside no longer mattered to him.

Just as he moved toward the shaman to embrace him in celebration, he noticed the strange expression on the old man's face. The smile on the king's face immediately disappeared.

"What's wrong? Is there something wrong with my child?" the king asked, but no one inside the hut answered him.

Deep within, the shaman felt conflicted. He had never believed the queen could commit such a huge abomination and bring shame upon herself. He wished he could keep the truth to himself, but he couldn't. The day he was ordained as the village shaman, he had made a pledge to always be honest and loyal to the king, no matter the cost. The king had been good to him, and if telling him the truth would be a way of repaying that loyalty, then he would do so.

'I can feel our people dying outside, and soon I might be next. I can't die with this secret' He thought inwardly. He looked at the queen for a few seconds before slowly turning toward the king, knowing that once he spoke, there would be no taking back his words.

"My King... the baby is not yours. She mated with a human."

The king was heartbroken after hearing those words, and the smile that had been on his face only a few minutes earlier immediately disappeared. He had trusted his wife so much that, if the shaman had not been the one to reveal the truth, he would never have believed that she had cheated on him—not with another elf, but with a human. The question running through his mind now was how she had even come into contact with a human. Had she been seeing one in secret all along? Had something happened during one of the battles against the humans? Of course, she could not claim that she had been raped, because if that had truly happened, surely she would have told him about it after the incident.'Was she dating a human all along?' The village king asked himself as tears slowly filled his eyes. He could no longer hold them back and eventually broke down. All this time, he had believed that he was receiving his first child, and he had been happier than he had ever been. But now that the baby had
