"Put the brakes on, pal! Right here!" Henry pointed aggressively at a dark, narrow alleyway just thirty feet short of the flashing, multi-colored entrance of the Neon Dragon Casino.

The cabbie slammed on the brakes, looking back at Henry with raised eyebrows. "The alley? You sure, buddy? The red carpet is right there. Don't you want to make an entrance?"

"If I make an entrance through the front lobby, I'm going to be forced to dance cabaret in a pink feather boa," Henry said, his voice deadly serious.

"Uh, okay. Sure," the cabbie said, slowly nodding as he eyed Henry’s torn trousers and the tiny orange-and-white kitten poking its head out of his breast pocket. "That's... a very specific fear."

"It's not a fear, it's a digital ultimatum!" Henry groaned, throwing a crumpled fifty-dollar bill onto the front seat. "Keep the change! I have to go cheat a cosmic system by entering through the kitchen!"

"Hey, thanks for the tip, crazy lady-killer!" the cabbie called out as Henry scrambled out of the backseat and into the shadows of the alley. "Good luck with the... whatever that is!"

Henry sprinted down the damp pavement, his heart pounding a furious rhythm. As he approached the heavy gray service door of the casino, a bright pink holographic screen flashed violently in front of his eyes.

`[DETOUR DETECTED. QUEST 'THE FABULOUS FEATHERED FLIRT' BYPASSED. NARRATIVE ROUTE ADJUSTED.]`

"Ha! Take that, you neon-glowing dictator!" Henry hissed, punching the air. "I outsmarted you! No jazz hands for me!"

`[SYSTEM WARNING: APPRECIATION FOR CREATIVE WORKAROUNDS IS LOW.]`

`[NEW EMERGENCY QUEST ACTIVATED: THE MIXOLOGY MASQUERADE.]`

`[OBJECTIVE: THE BIOMETRIC VIP ELEVATOR IS UNLOCKABLE ONLY VIA GOLD-TIER GUEST PASS. ENTER THE SERVICE PANTRY, DISGUISE YOURSELF AS A BARTENDER, AND COMFORT THE CRYING HEIR IN VIP LOUNGE 3 TO ACQUIRE HIS ACCESS CARD.]`

`[TIME LIMIT: 05:00]`

`[PENALTY FOR FAILURE: PERMANENT HICCUPS THAT SOUND EXACTLY LIKE A SQUEAKY DOG TOY. HAVE A GREAT SHIFT!]`

Henry stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes bulging. "A squeaky toy? Are you kidding me?! I'm trying to conduct high-stakes corporate espionage, and you want to turn me into a walking chew toy?!"

Mew! the kitten agreed, poking its nose out of his pocket and sniffing the cool night air.

"Exactly, buddy! It's completely undignified!" Henry whispered. He grabbed the handle of the service door, pulled it open, and slipped into the bustling, chaotic rear kitchen of the Neon Dragon.

Sizzling woks, shouting chefs, and the heavy smell of truffle oil blasted him in the face. Henry ducked behind a stack of clean laundry carts, his eyes scanning the room.

"Hey! You!" a frantic, sweating man in a white chef's coat pointed a finger directly at Henry. "Are you the emergency temp agency guy?!"

"Uh," Henry blinked, quickly smoothing down his dusty lapels. "Yes? I mean, absolutely. I am a master of... temping."

"Great! You look like garbage, but we're desperate!" the chef yelled, tossing a black canvas apron and a white service towel at Henry's face. "The head mixologist for VIP Lounge 3 just passed out from eating bad oysters! Go! Get behind the bar! The exclusive guests are waiting, and if they don't get their fancy drinks in three minutes, the owner is going to feed us to the literal dragons in the lobby fish tank!"

"I'm on it! Just direct me to the liquor!" Henry said, tying the apron around his waist with a swift, fluid motion. Thanks to his permanent +1 Dexterity, the knots tied themselves in a fraction of a second.

"It's through those double doors! Don't screw this up, new guy!" the chef screamed, turning back to yell at a line cook.

Henry pushed through the swinging doors, instantly stepping into a dim, opulent lounge bathed in deep blue and purple neon light. Soft jazz music hummed through hidden speakers. He quickly slid behind the polished mahogany bar, looking around frantically.

"Alright, system," Henry muttered under his breath. "Where is this crying heir? I don't see anyone crying, just a bunch of snobs in designer dresses."

`[TARGET IDENTIFIED: SEATED AT THE END OF THE BAR. CURRENT EMOTIONAL STATE: PATHETIC.]`

Henry looked to his far left. A young man in a crumpled silver suit was slumped over the counter, his face buried in his hands, letting out quiet, shuddering sobs. A half-empty bottle of top-shelf scotch sat beside him.

"Perfect," Henry sighed, walking over. He grabbed a clean glass and a silver shaker. "Excuse me, sir? Can I get you something a bit more sophisticated than a bottle of sadness?"

The young man lifted his head, his eyes red and puffy. "You... you don't understand, man. She took the yacht. She took the yacht, the gold-plated jet skis, and... and my favorite purebred Pomeranian!"

"Oof," Henry said, automatically reaching for a bottle of high-end gin. "That's a rough portfolio liquidation. What's the name?"

"Marcus," the young man snuffled, wiping his nose on his sleeve. "Marcus Vance. My dad owns Vance Biotech. I'm... I'm supposed to be hosting a VIP networking event tonight, but I can't even look at a spreadsheet without crying!"

`[QUEST PROGRESS: COCKTAIL REQUIREMENT INITIATED.]`

`[MIX A 'LIQUID CONSOLATION' COCKTAIL TO UNLOCK MARCUS'S COGNITIVE RECEPTIVITY.]`

`[RECIPE: 2 OZ GIN, 1 OZ ELDERFLOWER LIQUEUR, A SQUEEZE OF FRESH LIME, AND A SHOT OF COLD REALITY.]`

"A shot of cold reality," Henry muttered, his hands moving like a blur. Clink. Clank. Shake-shake-shake. His +1 Dexterity made the metal shaker dance between his fingers like a professional flair bartender. He poured the pale, shimmering liquid into a martini glass and slid it perfectly across the mahogany surface. "Drink up, Marcus. Let's talk liabilities."

Marcus blinked, staring at the perfectly presented cocktail. He took a sip, his eyes widening. "Wow. That is... surprisingly crisp. What did you say about liabilities?"

"Listen to me, Marcus," Henry said, leaning over the bar and looking him dead in the eye. "I'm an accountant. I look at numbers for a living. And from where I'm sitting, your ex-girlfriend isn't a loss. She's a massive, depreciating asset that you just successfully purged from your balance sheet."

"A... a depreciating asset?" Marcus stammered, holding his glass.

"Think about it!" Henry slammed a hand on the counter for emphasis. "The yacht? Fuel costs, docking fees, maintenance, crew salaries. That's a cash-drain anomaly! The gold-plated jet skis? High risk, zero practical utility! And the Pomeranian? Do you know how much premium dog food costs over a fifteen-year lifespan?!"

Marcus's mouth fell open. "I... I never thought of it that way."

"She didn't ruin you, Marcus. She streamlined your operations!" Henry declared, his voice rising in professional passion. "You just saved yourself a minimum of four hundred thousand dollars in annual overhead! You should be celebrating! You should be writing a thank-you note to her lawyer!"

Mew! the kitten popped its head out of Henry’s pocket, letting out a sharp, supportive squeak.

"Even my highly qualified assistant agrees!" Henry pointed to his pocket. "That's a financial green light!"

"Oh my god," Marcus whispered, a massive, hysterical smile breaking across his tear-stained face. "You're right! She's a liability! I'm... I'm liquid! I'm financially optimized!"

`[DING! SYSTEM NOTIFICATION: TARGET'S COGNITIVE RECEPTIVITY AT 100%.]`

`[QUEST COMPLETED: THE MIXOLOGY MASQUERADE.]`

`[REWARD UNLOCKED: STEALTH WALKING (LEVEL 1) ACTIVATED.]`

`[BONUS REWARD: TARGET'S VIP GUEST PASS SECURED.]`

"You're a genius, bartender!" Marcus cried, slamming his hand on the counter. He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a sleek, glowing gold plastic card, tossing it onto the bar. "Here! I don't even need this tonight! I'm going to go call my dad and tell him I just saved the company a fortune in yacht maintenance! Keep the card, keep the tip, keep everything!"

"Always happy to assist with asset protection, Marcus," Henry smiled, smoothly pocketing the gold VIP card as the young heir leaped off his stool and ran out of the lounge, laughing hysterically.

Suddenly, a strange, weightless sensation washed over Henry’s feet. His leather shoes felt as light as feathers, and when he took a step, there was absolutely no sound. Not a squeak, not a rustle.

`[STEALTH WALKING (LEVEL 1) ACTIVE. NOISE EMISSION: 0%. VISUALLY BLENDS INTO SHADOWY ENVIRONMENTS BY 30%.]`

"Oh, baby," Henry whispered, looking down at his feet. "I feel like a ninja. A very tired, middle-aged ninja."

Before he could celebrate further, the heavy double doors of the main VIP lounge entrance swung open.

Henry froze, stepping back into the dim corner behind the bar's tall liquor display.

Jackson walked in.

The VP looked immaculate, his slick hair gleaming under the blue neon lights. But he wasn't alone. Flanking him were four massive, broad-shouldered men in tailored black suits, their hands resting ominously near the lapels of their jackets where the distinct bulges of firearms were visible.

"Is the private meeting room ready?" Jackson asked, his sharp voice cutting through the ambient jazz. He was speaking into a sleek bluetooth earpiece. "The Genesis Group representative just landed. We have the database. Tell them to have the offshore accounts prepared for transfer."

One of the heavy bodyguards scanned the lounge, his eyes passing right over the dark corner of the bar where Henry stood. Thanks to Stealth Walking, Henry seemed to melt completely into the shadows of the liquor bottles, his breath held tight.

"All clear, Mr. Jackson," the guard muttered. "The private room is soundproofed and secured."

"Good," Jackson sneered, walking past the bar, just five feet away from Henry. "Let's go. Once this deal is finalized, that annoying little accountant can run all he wants. He'll be framed for the leak, and I'll be sitting on a beach in Monaco."

Henry’s eyes narrowed into slits. A cold, dangerous anger flared in his chest.

"Monaco, huh?" Henry whispered to himself as the heavy doors of the private back hallway closed behind Jackson's entourage. "I don't think so, Jackie boy. Your taxes are about to get heavily audited."

Henry stepped out from behind the bar, his feet moving in absolute, terrifying silence. He slipped past the remaining lounge patrons like a ghost in a torn suit, tracking the golden boy right toward the lion's den.
