"This is it, Henry! We’re trapped! We are literally canned sardines in bespoke suits!" Mr. Sterling shrieked, his hands frantically clawing at the seamless steel plates of the security shutters. "Do something! You’re the one with the high-speed kung fu!"

"I am trying to calculate our options, Sterling, but you screaming in my ear is severely affecting my mental processing speed!" Henry yelled back, his back pressed against the cold metal barrier.

"Mew," the kitten whimpered from his pocket, shivering against his chest.

"I know, buddy. It's a highly stressful work environment," Henry whispered, gently patting the tiny orange head. He looked up, his eyes narrowing as three massive, heavily armed enforcers stepped forward. They wore full tactical body armor, Kevlar vests, and combat helmets that made them look like terrifying, faceless insects.

"Oh, look at that," Henry muttered, trying to keep his voice steady. "They brought the elite team. And here I am, armed only with a torn pair of trousers and a stolen kitchen apron."

"There is nowhere left to slide, Henry," Jackson's voice echoed from the far end of the grand lobby. He was standing safely behind a massive marble pillar, his gun still aimed in their general direction. "You’ve officially run out of legal loopholes. Put your hands on your head and prepare for a permanent liquidation."

"Is there any way we can settle this with a highly constructive performance review, Jackson?" Henry called out, slowly shifting his weight. "I’m willing to offer some very valuable feedback on your leadership style!"

"Kill them," Jackson commanded, his face twisting into a cold sneer. "And make sure the accountant doesn't get a chance to open his mouth again."

Before the three tactical enforcers could take a step, a brilliant pink holographic screen erupted directly in front of Henry’s face, nearly blinding him with its neon intensity.

`[WARNING: ELITE CASINO ENFORCERS INITIATING TERMINATION SEQUENCE.]`

`[SPECIAL SYSTEM QUEST ACTIVATED: THE GENTLE GIANTS-LAYER.]`

`[OBJECTIVE: DEFEAT THE THREE ENFORCERS USING ONLY NON-LETHAL, BLOODLESS STRIKES.]`

`[TIME LIMIT: 02:00]`

`[REWARD UPON COMPLETION: 'HYPER-SPEED BURST' (UNLOCKED PERMANENTLY).]`

`[PENALTY FOR FAILURE: THE 'BALLET OF THE BREAKROOM' INDUCTION. YOU WILL BE COMPELLED TO WEAR A BRIGHT PINK TULLE TUTU AND PERFORM PIROUETTES IN FRONT OF YOUR CO-WORKERS EVERY FRIDAY FOR THREE WEEKS. HAVE A GREAT SHIFT!]`

"A pink tutu?!" Henry screamed in absolute horror, his voice cracking. "During the Friday morning budget meetings?! Are you completely insane, you glowing piece of corporate malware?! I will not do ballet in front of the department!"

"Who is he talking to?" the lead enforcer, a towering man with a heavy steel baton, muttered to his partner. "Is the suspect having a psychological event?"

"Doesn't matter. The boss said to end him," the second enforcer replied, drawing a heavy stun baton that crackled with blue electricity. "Just keep it clean. No mess on the marble."

"Wait, did you say no mess?!" Henry’s eyes lit up as he read the system prompt again. "Oh, thank goodness! We have aligned corporate goals! I also require zero bloodshed! Let’s keep this entirely professional, gentlemen!"

"Get him!" the lead enforcer roared, lunging forward with a devastating overhead swing of his steel baton.

"Defensive pivot!" Henry shouted.

With his Agility Boost still humming in his veins, Henry spun to the left, his dress shoes making a loud shreeg on the polished marble. The steel baton slammed into the floor, sending a shower of sparks flying right where Henry’s feet had been.

"Missed me!" Henry cheered, his fingers wrapping around the thick, heavy velvet rope of a nearby VIP queue barrier. "Ah, the velvet rope! The ultimate corporate tool for artificial exclusivity! Let’s see how it handles crowd control!"

With a powerful yank, Henry ripped the heavy brass stanchion out of its base. He swung the thick red velvet rope like a whip, wrapping it tightly around the lead enforcer’s ankles in a perfect, high-speed knot.

"What the—!" the lead enforcer gasped as his feet were violently pulled out from under him.

"And down goes the overhead costs!" Henry yelled, pulling the rope with a sharp, synchronized jerk.

The heavy man went airborne, landing flat on his back with a resounding, metallic clank that echoed through the entire lobby. He groaned, his helmet clattering against the floor as his eyes rolled back.

`[ELITE ENFORCER 1: NEUTRALIZED. STATUS: CONCUSHED BUT COMPLETELY BLOODLESS. QUEST PROGRESS: 33%.]`

"One down!" Henry laughed, executing a playful spin with the brass pole. "Who’s next for the executive restructuring?"

"You little rat!" the second enforcer screamed, thrusting his crackling stun baton straight toward Henry’s chest.

"Whoa, watch the electricity, pal!" Henry ducked, his body bending backward at a ridiculous forty-five-degree angle. "I’ve already had my cardiovascular system restarted once today! I do not need a second charging cycle!"

"Stand still and let me shock you!" the enforcer yelled, swinging the baton in a wild, frantic horizontal arc.

"No can do! I have a highly active lifestyle now!" Henry shouted.

He lunged forward, sliding between the enforcer's legs like a baseball player stealing second base. As he slid past, Henry reached up and grabbed the heavy, solid-gold decorative dragon statue sitting on a nearby display pedestal.

"I’m borrowing this for a temporary asset reallocation, Sterling!" Henry yelled, lifting the heavy statue with his +1 Grip Strength.

"Be careful with that! It’s twenty-four karat gold!" Sterling wailed from behind his leather chair. "That's a highly appreciating asset!"

"Not if it gets dented by a stun baton!" Henry roared.

He held the golden dragon outward like a shield. The second enforcer’s stun baton slammed directly into the dragon's snout.

BZZZZZZZT!

A blinding flash of blue lightning erupted as the electrical charge surged through the solid gold statue. But because gold is an excellent conductor, the current bypassed Henry entirely, flowing directly back up the carbon-fiber shaft of the baton and into the enforcer's wet tactical gloves.

"AAAAAH! The conduction! The thermal dynamics!" the second enforcer screamed, his entire body vibrating as the residual charge blasted through his armor. He collapsed onto the floor, twitching rhythmically.

`[ELITE ENFORCER 2: NEUTRALIZED. STATUS: SHOCKED BUT UNBLEEDING. QUEST PROGRESS: 66%.]`

"And that is why we always use proper insulation in our financial models!" Henry cheered, tossing the smoking golden dragon onto the twitching man's chest. "Two down! One more to go before I have to worry about ballet class!"

"You... you monster," the third enforcer whispered, his voice trembling under his heavy tactical helmet. He was the largest of the three, built like a brick warehouse, but he was currently backing away from Henry in sheer terror. "You’re not an accountant. You're a wizard! A weird, middle-aged martial arts wizard!"

"Oh, please, wizard is a bit much," Henry smiled, slowly walking toward him while spinning the velvet rope like a lasso. "I prefer the term 'financial strategist with high-velocity defensive capabilities'. Now, are you going to lie down nicely, or do I have to use the Friday-at-Five Sweep on you?"

"I have a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!" the heavy enforcer roared, trying to regain his confidence. He threw his weapons aside and dropped into a low, professional grappling stance. "I will snap your joints like dry twigs!"

"A black belt? Impressive!" Henry said, stopping five feet away. "But do you know what I have?"

"What?!"

"A permanent ten percent boost to my dexterity and a burning desire to never wear a pink tutu!" Henry yelled.

The heavy enforcer lunged, his massive arms reaching out to wrap Henry in a bone-crushing bear hug.

"Too slow!" Henry laughed.

With his Agility Boost running on its final, desperate seconds, Henry stepped inside the man's guard. He utilized the Basic Martial Arts (Office Drone Variant) to perfection. He grabbed the heavy man by his tactical vest collar, planted his foot firmly against the man's hip, and threw himself backward onto the plush carpet.

"The Overhead Projector Toss!" Henry yelled.

Using the heavy man’s own massive momentum, Henry rolled onto his back and launched the enforcer over his head. The massive mercenary flew through the air like a heavy sack of concrete, before crashing headfirst into a giant, padded velvet pillar.

THUD.

The enforcer slumped down, his head resting against the plush fabric as a tiny cartoonish swirl of stars practically rotated around his helmet.

`[ELITE ENFORCER 3: NEUTRALIZED. STATUS: SLEEPING PEACEFULLY. ZERO BLOOD SPILT.]`

`[QUEST COMPLETED: THE GENTLE GIANTS-LAYER.]`

`[REWARD GRANTED: 'HYPER-SPEED BURST' (UNLOCKED PERMANENTLY).]`

`[SYSTEM NOTE: CONGRATULATIONS, DESK JOCKEY. YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY AVOIDED THE TUTU. YOUR VELOCITY CAPABILITIES HAVE BEEN UPGRADED TO THE MAXIMUM HUMAN LIMIT. USE RESPONSIBLY.]`

"Oh, thank the heavens," Henry panted, collapsing onto the carpet and clutching his burning lungs. "No ballet. No pink tulle. I can actually walk normal on Monday."

"Henry! You did it! You actually defeated them!" Sterling cheered, running out from behind his leather chair and clapping his hands in wild excitement. "That was spectacular! I’m going to write a highly glowing recommendation letter to your board of directors!"

"Don't celebrate just yet, Sterling," Henry wheezed, pushing himself up to his knees. He looked across the empty, red-lit lobby. "We still have one more parasite to deal with."

Jackson was standing near the far wall, his face completely pale and his hands shaking violently as he stared at his three unconscious elite enforcers.

"How... how are you doing this?!" Jackson shrieked, his voice cracking into a pathetic, high-pitched whine. "You’re Henry! You’re the guy who gets winded from walking up one flight of stairs! You’re supposed to be dead of a stroke!"

"Actually, Jackson, I’ve been practicing a new health regimen," Henry smiled, slowly standing up and adjusting his torn tie. "It’s called avoiding toxic assets. And you are the most toxic asset I’ve ever encountered."

"Stay back!" Jackson screamed, raising his gun with both hands. "I’ll shoot! I swear to god I’ll shoot both of you!"

"Go ahead and try, Jackie boy," Henry said, a cold, dangerous confidence spreading across his face. He felt a new, incredibly powerful thrum of energy building in his legs. The Hyper-Speed Burst was ready. "But I think you’ll find I move a lot faster than your quarterly projections."

Suddenly, before Jackson could pull the trigger, a soft, metallic clink-clink-clink echoed across the marble floor.

Henry blinked, his eyes darting downward as a small, round, grey metal canister rolled to a stop right between his feet.

"Wait," Henry muttered, squinting at the glowing red indicator on the canister. "Is that... a decorative paperweight?"

"Oh, no," Sterling gasped, his face turning completely white. "Henry! That's a military-grade smoke grenade!"

PSSSSSSSSSH!

With a deafening hiss, the canister erupted, filling the entire sealed lobby with a thick, choking cloud of yellow, toxic-smelling gas in a fraction of a second.

"Cough! Cough! I can't see!" Sterling wailed, his voice instantly becoming muffled by the dense fog. "My throat is burning! Henry! Where are you?!"

"Hold your breath, Sterling!" Henry yelled, his eyes watering violently as the thick gas filled his nose. He reached into his pocket, shielding the kitten with his hand. "Don't inhale the—"

"Attention, losers," Jackson's smug, distorted voice suddenly blared over the lobby’s automated intercom system, echoing sharply through the thick yellow haze. "You really thought you won, didn't you? Enjoy the gas, gentlemen. It’s a custom blend from Vance Biotech. You have exactly three minutes before your lungs turn to absolute mush. Goodbye, Henry."
